Google and XDA have failed me. Here are my stats:
Nvidia Shield Tablet rooted
Cyanogenmod 12.1 Unofficial 5.1.1
Device with the battery that is supports set itself on fire
So here is what I did:
After having found out that Nvidia doesn't want to have my device back, I figured I'd rather flash a custom firmware to prevent the kills witch. I don't intend to burn myself to death, so I only charge the tablet when I am there and since I happen to have a fire extinguisher nearby and my tablet doesn't show any signs of overhraging or whatsoever, I might as well keep it and use it as an addition to Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen. I might as well tear out the battery and use it via usb only. But as of now I have this really wicked problem.
I firs flashed CM 12.1 from XDA. After charging the tablet with the original nvidia charger, the average battery time of the tablet dwindles to only three hours. Before having charged the tablet once it is fine and tells me that I get about 22 hours.
I reflashed, this time another Custom Rom i.e. Blisspop. Wiping the cache and Dalvik cache as well as performing a factory reset. All is fine, until I charge the tablet once! Same error, only three hours screen on time.
I reflashed CM 12.1 doing the same as above. I charged, and tablet goes down to three hours. Before the first charge it is fine. I also tested it with a set counter. It isn't just an error with the display or such. I really only get 3 to 4 hours on screen time, no matter what I do. But only after I have had the charging connector on it. No matter if I fully charge or not.
Here is what I also tried:
I set up the tablet as a new one!
I haven't installed a single app!
I tried halving the Prozessor usage (giving me only 20 minutes more)
The battery overlay doesn't show me where the he'll the juice gets drained from.
Am I missing something? Is there a patch? How the heck can charging a device lead to errors?
I really hope that someone can help out.
