Hello,
I need help regarding my tablet. Here are the details:
Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Wi-Fi (GT-P5210)
Problem: I can't perform a Factory Data Reset
Root: Yes, rooted about 6 months ago, I got TWRP Version 2.6.1.0
Age: Almost 2 years, got about 1 Year and 8 Months, still got about 2 months warranty but I'm rooted so....
So the problem is that I cannot perform a factory data reset, neither from the Android Settings app or manually from Recovery. I found out about the problem when I decided that my tablet needed a factory reset, but then when I tried it failed. This was not my first time attempting a factory reset. Whenever one of my devices starts to act laggy and slowly after some time I attempt a factory reset and then setup everything again. When I wasn't rooted the factory reset worked and even after I rooted the tablet a factory reset worked. So to put it simpler after I rooted I tried 2 factory resets. The first worked and the second failed.
I read articles about this and apparently this is supposed to happen if you have messed up files in a partition. From what I read something I could try is to choose Advanced Wipe and try that, but my problem is that I do not know what I should choose to wipe. There are these options- Cache, Dalvic Cache, Data, System and Internal Storage. The bad thing is that, from what I read, wiping specific things could leave with me with NO OPERATING SYSTEM so I have to be careful. During an attempted factory reset in recovery mode I got errors which explained that it couldn't mount data and internal storage. It refered data to as a partition like this: /data/ but it mentioned internal storage like this: Unable to mount internal storage. The system is still able to boot up and operate normally but sometimes applications restart and misbehave and I have no option but to restart the system.
I hope you understood my problem and if there is something else you want to know or if there is something you want to be explained more clearly tell me. I'm not a newbie, tell me what needs to be done.
