USB connectivity mode

Hello everyone, just got my M4 today and im really happy with but im i cant seem to change usb connection type from mtp to mass storage... when i go into xperia connectivity/USB connectivity there is only a checked option to install software from a computer but i get no prompts to download any, being new to the device can anyone point me in the right direction please? Also quick one, is it possible to change the way the battery icon looks?
