Make Android travel ready

Okay I couldn't think of any good thread title...sorry!

I'm going to Japan for a month and I wonder what is my best option to get my phone travel reading.
What do I mean?
I want to get rid of all unnecessary apps to get as much space as possible for photos. And also to save data bandwidth and battery.
I'm rooted btw.
I thought I do a full backup with Titanium and then delete everything I see that I will not need. (Or even reset the phone)
After I come back I re-add all those apps with Titanium restore.

Does this seem like the easiest way to do it or can you think of any better?

2.- Dowload Firmware B312 5.1.1 from Here (Link pending)

3.- Install B141 (ill do it from 127)

4.- Install B312 (Make Factory Reset if possible)

5.- Enjoy
