So way back when I bought my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 I decided to root it. Unfortunately I don't know which process I went through but once I had an issue with a google app, I decided to try to remove the root I had put on it. In the process I obviously messed something up as the kindle refuses to boot to anything but the Kindle Fire System Recovery. Even at this screen when I do "Reset to Factory Default" it simply reboots and comes to the same screen.
I don't have a "fastboot" cable that I keep seeing on forums, so I can still go try and retrieve one of those. But I'm interested in what steps I can do to either revive my Kindle or use it to boot another operating system. Anything to keep it from being a large paper weight!
Thanks for reading and any insight you all give :)
