I purchased a dead n5110 for 50 on a whim, and I am getting nowhere with it. Hoping for input.
It seems to charge the battery - but with no activity on screen.
It appears totally dead - no lights or screen activity at any time.
Nothing registers on USB if I connect it to my linux machine while checking dmesg - it is as if it isn't there.
I have tried switching the battery and the physical buttons around with a functioning n5120 where they work fine (and the battery from the dead one reads 99% after boot), and the n5110 is just as dead with battery/buttons from the functioning donor.
I have tried all possible combinations of longpresses with volume up/down/power/home with no response.
I have tried disconnecting the battery overnight and powering on without battery
Am I missing anything? Can I be reasonably sure that the main board is dead? I can't switch around with the n5120 to test as it has a slightly different layout.
If yes - does anyone have a donor mainboard I can purchase? ebay etc are way out of my price range.
