[Q] Modify OTA Install Script

With the news that Google will be releasing monthly OTA updates, I am wondering if we can create a method to apply OTA updates on rooted/modified devices (e.g. modify the update.zip itself to bypass whatever checks it performs)?

I run stock, but with root, xposed, and many system applications removed. Returning to 100% stock each month, updating, then re-modifying is a tedious process that I am not looking forward to.

Does anyone have experience with how the OTA updates work? Is it even possible to modify the update.zip to remove the check for a stock /system?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 lt02wifi SM-T210R 4.4.2 Debloat Script - v3

Samsung Galaxy Tab3 lt02wifi SM-T210R 4.4.2 Debloat Script v3

I've tried finding other debloat scripts but unfortunately they either removed too much, or not enough.

This one removes everything that's junky, but still leaves some OK apps such as S Memo, Calculator, etc.
This checks for presence of lt02wifi device, but you could edit the script and make it work on other devices ...
This should be run on latest 4.4.2 firmware, and it should be run from TWRP recovery.
Please have a current backup in case something goes wrong, although it really shouldn't :)

I've also kept Samsung Account, yes it's needed by some stuff in the Settings menu, and yes you can freeze it,
but it really doesn't do much if you just tell it to go away after it wants to setup a new Samsung Account.

You can also reset the device to factory settings after running this, and nothing will crash on first run.

Porting "Infinite Battery Script"?

Hey Guys,

So I was browsing through my many-o-device forums and in the Moto X 2013 forum I found a port of the infinite battery script that is available for the GalaxySL, and I was wondering if it could be ported over to the OnePlus One?

Quote:

What this script does?

When your phone is in AWAKE state:
Governor = Interactive
Max = 1728000
Min = 384000

When your phone is in SLEEP state:
Governor = OnDemand
Max = 384000
Min = 384000

So basically this script automatically changes governor,min & max freq and more
depending on your phone's state which results in saving battery to great extent.

In the Moto X thread people have been saying that it has a massive improvement to the battery (which was already awesome when I used it), so I can imagine that it would also work wonders for the OnePlus One!

The link to the Moto X port: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...orted-t2775348
Link to Original Script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2371715

Cheers!

[Q] Executing Shell Script on Preference Change/Click

I could really use a hand here, maybe with the right help, this can turn into a nice How To thread...

Here's the situation...
NOTE: I am on a Note 3 with Touchwiz Rom

I'd like to add a customization to my Settings.apk (this part's not the problem), and have it fire off a bash script on selection (whether it's a simple tap-the-setting, checkbox, list item, etc...)

Here is what I have thus far for my smali

Code:

.class public Lcom/android/settings/ExecSH;
.super Lcom/android/settings/SettingsPreferenceFragment;
.source "ExecSH.java"

Will this do what I think it'll do? (I think it's grab the preference key and fire it off as a root command...
