[Q] Usage of root and knox

If I were to use pingpong root, does apps(Titanium backup,viper4android,rooted uninstaller, etc) that use root trigger something? Like from System protection it says no unauthorized system changes detected, will it be triggered?
Also just to clarify, they don't trip knox aswell right?

WARRANTY (Knox tripped)

Hello XDA,
After 6months with this tablet I have found that the processor in my model smt700 can't handle frequencies over 1.6ghz .
When first purchased with stock kitkat the screen flickered a few times then with the OTA lollipop the screen flickered even more so.
After rooting with king root it was then that I could set and test the frequencies and voltage and my conclusion after intensive testing was that my tablet could only be stable running at 1.6 ghz... thumb down !!
At first I didn't trip knox and just flashed tw based Rome with flashfire and after still having screen flickering issues with unexpected reboots I flashed twrp and CYANOGENmod 12 with the same cpublisher overloading at over 1.7ghz...
I have now called samsung who provided me with a prepaid shipping label (Ups) and was told to in luce the original charger and take of screen protector and any case.. as well I have to put o the outside of the box a service number for my service request...
I hope that Samsung won't be so evil with my product and refuse to provide service since my knox is at 0x2 ! !
At worst maybe the refashioned the device to new and at best a WORKING replacement but at worst a complete refusal of service to my device would put a nail in the coffin as for me ever purchasing another SAMSUNG device tablet, computer or T.V.
Samsung told me the expected turn around for the servicing should be around 14days.. I will post the result once my smt700 has returned...
Thanks XDA you have always been more helpful than any of the OEM's...
P.S. has any member here returned there knox tripped tablet for service or replacement with Samsung ??

Kingroot on top of My KNOX, Working Great! !

I was concerned about Kingroot and security so decided to try this.
I'm on a retail Verizon Note 4 running Gatesjunior's Safe 4.4.4.
I did a factory restore then after setup, I installed My KNOX from the Play Store and set it up .
Then I rooted with Kingroot . It worked. Now sometime when I reboot I get the lock logo with the words CUSTOM. I went into recovery to check but no Knox trip. I win the Root Price. I have two environments. One rooted the other as secure as you can get.

Giving up on Knox 0x0

Hi,

my warranty ran out and now I do not care about keeping knox 0x0 anymore.
I would like to install the most clean android version on my cell and keep the
stock os aswell.

1. How do I do that?

2. What is the best recovery?

My Phone: SM-N9005
Android: 5.0
Baseband: N9005XXUGBOA1
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-3643614
Build Number: LRX21V.N9005XXUGBOA5

Also since updating to 5.0 with mobile odin my cell keeps rebooting itself several times a day by itself.
It has nothing to do with the battery. I think that while updating I kept my old baseband and thats causing
these issues.

3. How do I fix that?

Thanks

Upgrade to Lollipop(Official) with loosing Data on Rooted, Knox 0x1 Device

Greetings xda,

I'll get straight to my problem. I was originally on AryaMod v6 but after the Official Lollipop upgrade was released for my region, I immediately restored to NANDROID backup of the stock firmware I took before flashing AryaMod. My Note 3 LTE is is currently Knox 0x1 and hence is not eligible to receive OTA updates.

My question is, is there any way to perform an OTA-like update that does not wipe any of my previous data?
Before I started this thread, I searched the forums for this problem and found one relevant thread: LINK but the user ultimately decided to go with the data wipe.

One possible solution that I have in mind is, I take a NANDROID backup, flash the Official Lollipop, Root and Install TWRP and then restore the Data partition. But I suspect this method is bound to cause some compatibility issues. And hence I would like the community's thoughts about this solution or any other better solutions that exist.

Thank you very much,
Eagerly waiting for your replies,
Have a good day,
UsmanJ

[Q] Can I/how do I install Knox on MOAR v6.2? For Mobile@Work

In normal circumstances I would have no interested doing this or even be asking this question, but I recently started a new job that uses a Mobile Iron app to manage work email encryption for BYOD. The Mobile@Work app relies on Samsung Knox for (at least for some amount) of the cryptocode on the Galaxy S5. Since MOAR v6.2 doesn't include Knox the app wont configure and validate. I am very happy with Moar v6.2 and would rather stay on the custom rom than flash to a stock rom. I've already spoken to my coworker who administrates our side of the MobileIron platform and he has no solution from his side. The APK from the google store automatically detects your device and which crypto it wants to use. I know MobileIron has other options than Knox for android devices. I'm waiting to hear back to see if one would be made available to me, but I doubt it.

So the options I see are (placed in ordered in preferably)
1. Add Knox to Moar v6.2 (I don't the process to do this or if it would break Moar v6.2)
2. Try another custom rom from your suggestions that includes Knox. (I've only used MOAR on my s5 so far, so open to try other roms)
3. Go to stock firmware (Least Prefered)

Now besides the options and my personal preferences, the real importance is that I don't fully side-skirt the security in place for emails. I'm hoping to have my cake and eat it too, but I'm not sure if that's possible here. If it isn't I'll just have to go back to a stock rom even if it pains me. Thank you in advance for reading and your advice

[GUIDE][G800F] Get S Health working with Knox 0x1

I am not responsible for any damage, you follow this guide at your own risk.

Tested on G800F (Exynos).
Things needed:
-root
-Xposed Framework
-Wanam Xposed

1) Install Xposed, enable it, reboot.
2) Install Wanam Xposed, enable it in Xposed modules, reboot.
3) In Wanam go to Security hacks and tick "Disable Secure storage", reboot.
4) In Settings, go to App Manager (or something like that), go to All and search for HealthService, clear data.
5) Do the same for S Health. (you will LOSE ALL DATA)
6) Done :>

Maybe you don't have to clear data of S Health, I cleared for both.

If someone posted guide like this earlier, I will delete my post.

Questions about LP upgrade, knox, Kernel, TW 4.4.2 and the meaning of life.

Hi all. I have a few questions about my Note 3 n9005.
Im on stock TW 4.4.2 with Towel root and knox is 0x0.

I have read in the threads but have not fund the answers i'm looking for. I hope you fine people can help me :)

1. Knox. Do i need to care if Knox is 0x0 or 0x1 if my phone is without warranty?

2. Do i benefit from upgrading to Lollipop at all? If so, in what way? What Lollipop? Faster? Better battery? Features?

3. Are there drawbaks to Lollipop on Note 3? If so, what?

4. If i stay on TW 4.4.2, do i benefit from changing to a costum kernel? Faster? Better battery? Features?

5. If not Lollipop, are there stable and battery friendly custom TW-roms that you can recommend?

I'm asking because i'm not quite satisfied with stock 4.4.2. I think it might draw unnecessary battery for one. Idle and in use.
And of course i want to see what Lollipop is all about. (It's not available via update in Sweden for me)

My phone is stable and thats how i like and need my phone right now. So i don´t really want to go through all the hassle of experimenting to see what works or not. Not if there are kind people here to help me in the right direction.
Then i can experiment and see what works for me :)

I really do appreciate if you can help me with this.
Regards. //Tesla

What are the Cons Of Tripping Knox, Especially On S5

Hello,

First Of all, Sorry moderators, if this post is repeated, Kindly lead me to the post which exactly answers my questions,

I had been into the rooting, custom roms stuff from a long time though, but the phones I used to have before didn't have any special sensors, I bought a T mobile S5 which is already on 5.1.1, so there isn't any way to root without tripping Knox 0x1,
I actually wanna know that what harm it may give to the features, will I loose the finger Print lock, or the gestures?
Really Curious to get the answers so that I can decide whether to go for the root or not.

Thanks In advance :)

Root 5.1.1 - Dont care about tripping KNOX

I'm on the newest OTA of 5.1.1, and I want to root and don't really care about KNOX anymore. I just want to do so without wiping my phone or losing any data; custom ROMs are out of the question.
PignPong and Chainfire don't work for 5.1.1, the non-KNOX tripping solution breaks vital features, so I'm wondering if there is another way.
