Benchmark of Note 4 versus Note 5 versus Mi Note Pro

As the previous owner of Note 4, I have just upgraded to Note 5 while my mum is using the mi note pro.

Managed to run some benchmarks under cooling conditions, I placed the phones without cases on the top of a cupboard right under the air conditioner till they are very cool and ran it in the same position. I also ran them in normal conditions and I have 1 thing to say: Note5 ramps up like a marathon runner, the benchmarks will get better over repeated runs as if you were waking a slumping dragon while mi note pro gave the best results on the 1st attempt before dropping significantly in benchmarks after repeated runs. The irony of my analogy paints exynos 7420 as a better dragon than snapdragon 810.

I guess this means the snapdragon 810 has some serious thermal throttling going on. Note 4 on the other hand gave rather consistent results from repeated runs.

Feel free to ask me to run other benchmarks under normal, cooling or after gaming. I am also open to battery tests. Note 4 may be sold soon so better get the requests coming in for a real world test!

At 1 point, I left Note5 on a slippery support and it dropped all the way by 1m hitting my table (cushioned by stacks of paper and books) before falling another 1m to the ground :eek: Was so glad that there wasn't a single dent or scratch.

Galaxy S5 camera versus iphone camera

I really like my S5 but when it comes to using the camera it looses personal every comparisson with the iPhone. Not only versios iPhone 6 but also older ones.

• Either the Camera lags when I launch it and is not ready fast enough to catch the scene


• Or from picture to picture I have to wait (I do have a fast sd card)


• And ultimately (and this is my major complaint) all point and shoot pics are vivid and sharp on my friend's apple devices but not on mine. I can make pleasing pictures but I do have to make sure I hold my phone dead steady and bother about whether to use flash or not since relying on auto doesn't always do the trick. And focussing seems to be really slow in comparisson.

I have tried alternative apps but my shap shots are rearly as crisp as I would like to have them.

What is your experience? Or how can I improve this?

Galaxy S4 available Tizen apps for Gear 1 versus S5 (build prop edit)

Hi,

have been reading here, as well as google search replies as to whether or not the build prop edit to apparently get more Tizen apps is still valid. Unfortunately most of the posts and responses are back from 2014. I've edited the build prop on my S4 so that it shows as an S5, but have not noticed any real big difference on available apps from the Gear app.

I may be doing it incorrectly, but when I check with the phone info app - it does show as an S5 ?

Can anyone confirm if more apps are available for the S5, and well, basically I am doing something wrong - or is it possible that the apps have now pretty much caught up on the S4
