Has anyone else have their screen go crazy? (video inside)

Hi, it seems like my screen has gone haywire and the fix is to reboot the phone. I experienced twice within the last months so I did a factory reset and experienced it again today.

Okay, so, I like the Gmail app and the tabs to separate emails. However, I've been using Gmail app for a very long time and this always pops up. Even when there's no emails in the promotions tab... how do I get rid of this? it's slowly driving me insane. help pls.

Anyone else unable to find a stable ROM for their M8?

I've had my M8 for about a year now and rooted it almost right away. I've been rooting my phones for years, since my HTC Incredible!

I've had about 4-5 different ROMs on my phone in this past year from CM to Revolution HD and Sky Dragon. But ALL of them seem to have the same issues. After a certain amount of time, maybe a week or maybe a month, they ALL start to get really, really laggy. I swear I've wiped and re-loaded my phone at least a dozen times so far!

For example, if I try to open Gmail or Chrome, it could take upwards of 5 seconds to actually pull up the program. Sometimes it's so bad, I have to force a reboot by holding power+volume up because the phone just won't respond to anything.

I've tried to go into apps and see the running programs, but most of the time either nothing special is running besides system type apps or it will just hang for minutes and I eventually force a reboot.

Am I the only one who is having such problems with these ROMs? Could I have gotten a bum phone? Is there some sort of diagnostics that I can run to make sure the CPU/Memory/etc. is working properly?

I'm at a loss right now. I nearly threw my phone across the room onto the concrete floor yesterday because it was so unusable all day.

Please help me figure out what's going on here, I'm at my wits end with this BS!

Updated to CM 12.1, no recovery mode, everything else seems fine

Today I've updated from CM 11 (KitKit 4.4.4) to CM 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1.1). I made a backup, a factory reset and then flashed the latest nightly and Google apps. Everything was fine so I continued installing apps, restoring data etc. When everything seemed to be finished and the phone was as I want it to be, I wanted to make a new backup.

But now I can't enter recovery mode. When I boot the phone and press the volume button, the LED turns yellow as it's supposed to, but the screen stays black and nothing more happens. If I press the power button the phone reboots. So everything seems fine, the phone is working and I've got root access, but I can't enter recovery mode. I've tried to use ADB and fastboot but I can't connect to my phone so I can't flash a new recovery image. I can boot into fastboot mode with the LED turned blue but ADB stays on <waiting for device>. I've tried to update drivers etc and also tried another computer but with the same result so it seems there's something wrong with the phone.

In developer settings there's an option for CyanogenMod to update the recovery when flashing a new nightly - but I don't know if I can flash a new nightly when I can't enter recovery mode.

Any advices?

Anyone else get a system update 10 Aug 2015?

Received notification of a system update today, 10 August 2015. I'm a little leery of installing this. I'm at 5.1.1 and after installing 5.1.1, I have the dreaded unannounced deaths where the phone will turn itself at random. Sometimes it will reboot if you hold the power button down for about 15 seconds. Sometimes the charger needs to be plugged in before it will reboot. Sometimes it cycles through all apps before completing the reboot. Sometimes not. If the new update will fix this, I'm all for it. But, I don't want to get fooled again with these updates. So, anyone else get an update? What does it do? Any problems after the update? Thanks.

Anyone else have this issue with Bootloader Unlocking?

After speaking to Level 2 & Level 3 Support, I am still unable to Unlock Bootloader through Motorola's site. I am getting a message " Your device does not qualify for Bootloader Unlocking" so Motorola checked my IMEI and it does indeed qualify for Bootloader Unlocking so now I have to wait for Motorola Support to contact me with a resolution.

If so how did it play out and how long did it take to resolve?

Has anyone else noticed something odd about the Shield Tablet's description?

On the xda Shield Tablet "main page", I noticed something a little odd

I'm pretty sure the dual core variant (Project Denver) was released after the Shield Tablet, especially considering that the first device to feature a Project Denver K1 was the Google Nexus 9, announced Oct 15, 2014, nearly 2 months after the release of the Wi-Fi only Shield Tablet

lg g4 pixelated camera anyone else notice this?

when I take a photo then view it and zoom in, the photo becomes pixelated and does the same when i viewed it in photoshop never did this on my s4 any suggestions please.....:confused:

While watching the live stream, I was really impressed with the presenter who said they understand our concerns about wanting phones that last easily throughout the day, that withstand drops in water, and want a pure experience. Then they introduce the Moto X Style/Pure with a measly 3000mAh battery, which in comparison to the Note 4 and Nexus 6 is considered small, and there is no waterproofing. Yet the lower end phones have either a larger battery or waterproofing. Really Motorola?
