Suggestions required for simple and stable ROM for I9500

Hello everyone

I have a I9500 with Exynos processor running android 5.0.1, Baseband- I9500DDUHOA1, Build number- XXUHOF3.

I was generally happy with My phone but all hell broke lose after last update. Battery life doesnt last more than 2-3 hours. GPS doesnt lock at all. The phone hangs too much. Wifi signal is poor.

I can factory reset the phone (Since I didnt do it since several OTA updates) but I am wondering even that might not solve the problem and I should flash some good and stable ROM.

My issue is I Dont Know which one is a good and stable ROM. There are so many options and I feel very lost. Therefore I would be thankful if anyone can guide Me to which ROM should I install. My goal is simple- a fast working stable phone. Nothing fancy required.

I have flashed ROMS on My earlier phone Galaxy S (I9000) so I am not a novice and can do it if instructions are provided in the thread.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone else unable to find a stable ROM for their M8?

I've had my M8 for about a year now and rooted it almost right away. I've been rooting my phones for years, since my HTC Incredible!

I've had about 4-5 different ROMs on my phone in this past year from CM to Revolution HD and Sky Dragon. But ALL of them seem to have the same issues. After a certain amount of time, maybe a week or maybe a month, they ALL start to get really, really laggy. I swear I've wiped and re-loaded my phone at least a dozen times so far!

For example, if I try to open Gmail or Chrome, it could take upwards of 5 seconds to actually pull up the program. Sometimes it's so bad, I have to force a reboot by holding power+volume up because the phone just won't respond to anything.

I've tried to go into apps and see the running programs, but most of the time either nothing special is running besides system type apps or it will just hang for minutes and I eventually force a reboot.

Am I the only one who is having such problems with these ROMs? Could I have gotten a bum phone? Is there some sort of diagnostics that I can run to make sure the CPU/Memory/etc. is working properly?

I'm at a loss right now. I nearly threw my phone across the room onto the concrete floor yesterday because it was so unusable all day.

Please help me figure out what's going on here, I'm at my wits end with this BS!

Which is fastest most stable no camera fails rom?

Exactly as title. Dont have much free time to test so... Need the best rom with best speed and no camera errors. Im guessing the base of this rom in mind is based on cm11 but which cm11 based rom. Best ive found so far is liquidsmooth but it has camera fails "cant connect camera" something way too typical with galaxy s3. Never seen anything like it on any other device...

Thanks in advance

Stable Lightweight ROM Advice?

Hello, I'm in search of lightweight ROM that's fully functional and fast for a recently acquired Dell Streak 7. Currently running 3.2 and it's so laggy. I would like full functional ROM. I mostly use this as a dedicated dictionary/e-reader/light web browsing so I don't even mind going backwards, or even staying stock but on a faster ROM than Stock 3.2. I figured you all would know more about this and I'm not keen on getting to know ROMs galore for this device as I have in the past with others. Thanks in advance for any advice.

[DEV] Need help to record video with stable FPS

Hi all!

I am developing an app and need to record video with stable FPS.
My app records a video and a text file while the user presses a button to go through a list of items. The app records in the text file the time of the presses of the button, in order for me to split the video based on these recorded times.
The time recorded comes from a System.UptimeMillis() - varInitialTime each time the button is pressed.

I am using MediaRecorder and have tried recording with many different configs, like using Timelapse profile, disabling sound, setting framerate option on media recorder and others. The Timelapse profile should record with fixed fps, and yet it recorded with variable fps.

I tried also using JavaCV for android, but looks like the E1 can't handle it, as it lagged hard in the few times it opened.
I searched the XDA forums and other android resources on the net to no avail.

So, is it possible to force the MediaRecorder (or similar) to record with a stable fps? Are there any workarounds for this problem?
