Unable to update unrooted phone to latest version

I have never rooted or flashed a ROM on to this phone. When I try to update (OTA) from G900AUCU4BOF2 to G900AUCU4BOF3 (fixing stagefright), it does not update. I can download the update fully and my phone restarts but when it is installing the update fails at 28%. I have wiped my cache and booted into safe mode but it still fails.

How can you even avoid updating your phone? I got my T Mobile phone yesterday and before I could finish creating my Google account, Android restarted the phone in Odin and installed an update. I am still on 5.0.1 but I do not want any more updates. I actually wanna see how Kit Kat runs because my phone's battery sucks, granted I still have to work out battery life tricks and read up on stuff, but I find it ridiculous that I need to put my phone on power saving mode off the bat to get it to last till 5 Pm with moderate use...very moderate use. I don't even play games. And I've heard horror stories of reverting back to Kit Kat so I'm scared that my 400 dollar phone will become useless if I try it

It just seems Samsung is out to sabotage the Note 4 family so we buy their crappy Note 5

Gps lost lock since 5.1 update

Hi !

Since 5.1 update, I noticed that I regularly have some lock lost with the Gps. As I use the Moto X to contribute to OpenStreetMap, I record gpx trace and use them to geolocalize pictures, and I see some "hole" in the record.

And I see some lockup when I use OsmAnd for car routing.

I never encounter this before the Lolippop update.

Anyone see this bug too ?

Different notification behaviour after firmware update

My watch downloaded and updated its firmware, and now my notifications don't automatically wake the watch screen when they arrive (I just get the buzzing). Anyone know if there's a way of getting notifications to pop up automatically (and turn on the display) - which is what they were doing before?

Wrong Test Keys - OTA update failed

Hi Guys,

so this morning my SW3 told me there was a system update, cool, so i said yes to the update and let it do its thing.

on coming back, the os version was still the same (LDZ22D) which i thought was odd.

I then did a search and found that there was indeed a new version out (LCA43) and thought something sus was afoot.

I got the twrp from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/smar...-easy-t3107501 and booted from twrp

i then pushed the rom i downloaded form here http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/08/21...e-watch-faces/ and promptly tried to flash it like i would any custom rom i would normally flash on any of my other android devices.

I got an error, saying it was expecting "test keys" from a LAZ22D device or a LWX49K device, and that I had LRX22G test keys.

I also tried an ADB sideload which also didn't work.

Am i doing something wrong? Has anyone else ever encountered this?

Full disclosure, I also installed supersu a few months ago, but have had many factory resets since then (new roms on the paired fone) which i wouldn't have thought was an issue?

Compass mode gone off Google wear maps after update

I just updated my Sony smart Watch 3 and the compass option has disappeared off the map app. I only have centre, searching around you and +-. Prior to the update I had the option to let the display to rotate as you moved which was really good. Has anyone else got the problem. All my apps on my s5 and the watch are up to date.

HTC One M8 - I'm on 4.4.3, rooted with S-off and can't update

I've tried various times to update my firmware but always get the HBoot screen or loss of connection between the phone and PC.

Slow mobile data after 5.1 update

So I updated my phone a month ago to 5.1 from 5.0.2. Via ota update. Ever since then my mobile data is just sooo slow, pretty much unusable. I have to use WiFi everywhere I go. When I was on 5.0.2 I had no problens could stream videos in full HD with any lag and do Web page searche. so about a week ago I did a fresh install, wiped everything and did the latest us custom firmware, but still no change. I thiught I saw a thread on this issue but I I can not find it and tried googleing and doing the forum search but no luck😢 I hoping some one can get me in the right direction or throw some ideas to a fix. Any Fast Charge Kernel Update for CM 12.1 - t0lte?

I modded a wireless charging module onto my note 2 but it only charges @ a slow 460mAh with my huge battery (9Ah) this is a pain and useless to me. The module is rated for 1A and read I need to get a different kernel to speed up the charging. If it wasn't for my moto 360, I'd just go back to 4.3 or 4.4 but the watch works horribly with those versions of Android.

Have there been any kernel mods released for CM 12.1 for the t0lte variant?

Can someone explain how the phone determines what speed it charges at based on the USB cable? I have a dual port AC adapter and my Note 2 stock USB cable charges at 900mAh while the stock S4 USB cable charges at 1,200 mAh. Why is this???

Galaxy S5 G900F. No lollipop update available.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F with the baseband version G900FXXU1ANCE (if that's important). My phone's running on 4.4.2 ever since i got it and the lollipop update has been out for i dont know how long. But whenever i go to the device's settings and go to auto update , it always says "Latest updates have already been installed'. The same thing happens when I connect it with Samsung Kies. I'm new to the Samsung Galaxy series and i need help to get it updated to Lollipop. Everyone i Know who has an S5 has updated theirs to Lollipop but I can't seem to get mine to update. Even the people online on Samsung Support Chat were saying that they can't help me which is weird. Can anyone please help me upgrade my phone? Do i need to root it or something? Or is there another way to install an update?
My phone is Unlocked but is unrooted. Please help me. Thank you.

Unable to update after root

Hi

I am running on LMY47V, Version 5.1.1.
About 2 days ago i got an update of 20 MB which got downloaded into my device but failing to apply.
Whenever i Click the Restart and Install button the device gets restarted and goes into ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7 asking to fix the root access which is possibly lost . I tried both the options Yes and No then the device gets started with no update.

Then the same notification comes in asking me to Restart and Apply.

I have rooted and applied CM Recovery recently and this never happened to me before rooting.

Anyone did the update??

Weird audio issues after latest T-Mobile update.

I have a bone stock, unrooted Nexus 6 on T-Mobile.
Android version: 5.1.1
Build number: LYZ28J

After the most recent update, I can no longer hear media through the speakers. Notifications come through fine, calls work just fine, etc.. But I can only hear Youtube videos, Google Play Music, or inline videos on Facebook through headphones or over Bluetooth.

I have repeatedly checked the volume, turned Bluetooth on and off, made sure that my MOTO 360 was turned off and disconnected, and today I did a factory reset. All to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas? Should I root and flash the previous version before the security updates?
