OnePlus won´t start. How to repair hardware?

Hello guys,

my oneplus one decided from one minute to the other to die.
In one moment i took a picture and in the next moment the display kept black and nothing happens.
No LED, no vibration or any other reaction.

Now the OnePlus one Customer Service made a Remote-Session and checked if the Device is bricked. And they couldn´t find the problem so they said we will open a RMA.

I´m a bit afraid that i will send my phone to them and they will tell me that there was a water-damage or something else and they decline my warranty and i have to pay the 2 way shippment. Even though i whatched better for the phone then for my life ^^

Are there ways for people like me to find out what is wrong and the change the defect hardware?
I would rather invest 56$ in a chip and change it by my self than pay the shipment and still have a broken phone.

with regards,
hoden ;)

Water Damage Repair Help Nexus 6

Hello everyone :D

So a couple weeks ago I took a unexpected swim with my Nexus 6 in my pocket, and haven't gotten it to work since. When I got out I immediately took the phone out of my pocket and turned it off, only to have it boot back into fastboot a few seconds later, turn off, boot to fastboot, and turn of again. It did this several times till it just stayed off. I took it apart, dried it, and cleaned it in Isopropyl alcohol and tried to turn it on but got no response no matter what I did. :crying:

I would consider it fried except whenever I plug it into my charger, the charging icon comes up like normal and even does the battery filling up animation. I replaced the power/volume button strip inside the phone hoping that it was the only problem, but it still would't turn on. I haven't replaced the battery yet because the charging animation shows it's holding charge, but loosing 40ish% after a week and a half of sitting there.

So is there something else I can do, or is it fried? I'm probably going to get a new battery to see if that improves anything, but I honestly don't know what more to do. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks in advance!

LG G2 doesn't boot and flashes 8 times red after repair

Dear fellow XDA members,

Yesterday, I replaced by LG G2 screen and after the repair the phone wouldn't boot anymore. It however shows signs of life if I plug in the charger, this is what happens then:

Notification light blinks 8 times red
Pause
8 times a red blink
Pause
and this continues for ages.

What I did sofar:
-Tried to soft reset & hard reset via button combo (no result)
-plug out the battery connector & plug it in again
-check all connections and possible damage (no potential problems found)
-Check voltage of battery (it is around 3V)
-Put phone in charger for a whole night

Do you guys have any ideas what is causing the problem? what does the 8 blinks error code mean? Hopefully you can help me out!

How to repair a hard brick SP

Hello XDA People

I have seen many thread on repair a hard bricked device but no one have worked for me. I explain the context. I have made an upgrade of a custom kernel but something was gone bad and the phone crashed just after. There was no more green light (flashmod) , blue light (fastboot mod) or red light. I tried to unplug battery connector of the mainboard, plug it and charge battery > no red light. I let the phone discharge battery > no red light. So i decided to unplug the battery connector of the mainboard and connect the phone to pc for the flasmod > green light. I have fully flashed the phone without battery. I have plugged the battery and reboot the phone. It is fully Working. Just for share, i don't know if that solution was posted.
Excuse my english.

S4 screen repair parts question

While using my gs4 i545 the other evening I noticed my screen was half working and half black. The phone was never dropped. After powering the phone off I can see t
cracks across the screen from my power button to the volume button. The phone still powers on but the screen is completely black now. My question is, do I need to fully replace the lcd along with the digitizer or just the glass? No liquid appears to be leaking. I have broken a screen before but it continued to work, this one does not. I do not wish to send the phone back for repairs as I have files in the internal memory I need to recover. Thank you for any advice.

Phone repair costs

After one month of use my sim card holder was broken. The sim did not click in there anymore and was not recognised as being available. Send it in for repairs and asus send me a bill off 309.34E. For a sim card holder. That should be covered by guarantee. If I choose not to have it repaired the bill is 72.60E to get the phone back.
Is this normal?
