Battery with question mark (moto g falcon) after unlocking bootloader

After unlocking the bootloader and trying on CM 12 on my XT1033 I have now downgraded to stock Kitkat. However I have noticed that when my phone is off and connected to my laptop I get a battery with a question mark on the screen. The same does not happen when I connect the phone (off state) to a wall charger which start charging immediately. When the phone is on, it charges through the laptop just fine. I have had no issue with the battery until now. I cannot exactly pinpoint if this started after unlocking the bootloader or after downgrading to Kitkat. Plz help

Quick camera question

I've noticed 2 things that are a little bothersome, seeking opinions.

1)When you take a macro, there is a sever aberration on the edges, beyond just bokeh. It almost looks like a motion blur. Is this a manufacturer blemish? Or are others noticing this too?

2)Would scratches on the laser cover screw with the ability to focus? I'd think that the lasers might skew and get confused....

LG G3 - question on GPS and full Android settings

Hi Guys!
I'm a new user of LG G3 dual LTE (D856) and so far I'm quite pleased with experience (coming from iphone 4s).
My phone is running 5.0.1 android and not rooted.
If someone has answers/solutions for following:
* On every GPS activation there is a popup coming about sending geo-data to Google. Tick "don't show anymore" is available only with option - "allow forever". "Not now" is available only for single use, i.e. next time GPS is on this popup coming annoyingly again.
I'm not a paranoiac, however why would I send to Google location of every toilet I visit? :cowboy:
How to get rid of popup with avoiding sending any geo-data to Google?
* is there internal android "settings" menu? There is LG settings and they are pretty good, but I can't find some properties seen on other android phones w/o shells?

question about running samsung security updates

My phone is only rooted, I have ignored the security updates since I got it thinking I might loose my root. Is this the case or will it still be rooted and do I need these updates anyway? Also, anyone know of a good rom for the att version that wont kill the battery and has a better camera than the stock one. I sure miss my s3 camera app that was in one of the carbon roms I had on it it was awesome. btw the phone was towel rooted.

Pattern lock screen question

I'm running stock cyanogen lollipop on my OPO. When I set a pattern for the lock screen security, its annoying that when I wake up the phone, I first have to swipe up to bring up the pattern screen. Is this normal? Seems strange to have to do both everytime...

noob ota and bootloader question

Right, i have rotted my zenfone 2. i want the ota. so i unroot and all i get is the brokwn android dude. i heard about a rom that is very similar to asus ui. i am not going cyanogen mod or pure. i like the asus look. where is the place to find the noob info on unlocking bootloader or just to gwt the ota sorted. this doing my head. thank you. i am runing the 4gb 32gig 1.8. ze551ml vervison. please some link me

Big question regarding Root on S5 Active

Hello forum. I recently bought a At&t Galaxy S5 Active from a friend. The thing is I'm guessing he updated it because it's running 5.0 lollipop and if I'm correct stock for this phone is kitkat? So my big question is this, is there any possible root for an S5 active phone already running 5.0? I here some people saying something about flashing back to stock but I also here it can cause problems if trying to downgrade. I hope someone can clear this up a bit for me as I really want root. Question about the P8 dual sim

Hi there,

Just been thinking about picking one of these up.Played with it abit in my local network providers shop and Im impressed.
But my question is regarding the dual sim mode.

My network provider here in Ireland says that the phone is single sim only ,that they don't supply dual sim versions in Europe.

Now what Im wondering is if the actual hardware is the same and that a rom could be flashed similar to the P8 lite to enable dual sim mode?
Also the second sim tray doesn't seem to be physically able to take a second sim.

Is it possible that providers in Europe are
1. Only selling single sim versions if such a thing exists.
2.Selling dual sim versions with the software for dual sim disabled and a different sim tray?

Why not LG G VIsta? They have AT&T and Verizon Varients.

Upgrade question

I am on CM 10.2.1 running Android 4.3.1 (MJA). I was thinking about upgrading to the latest CyanogenMod version or another ROM.

I take it I would have to upgrade my Android version correct or would the new ROM include that upgrade?

Also, would it be safer to go back to a stock ROM and download and apply the latest update from Sprint and them install CM12/other ROM?

Question regarding Facebook Messenger app (theming)

The first one is mine screenshot on my M8. The second one is my friend's GS5 screenshot. He said the colored icons thingy happened the second his Messenger updated. However, when I updated my theme, I did not receive colored icons. Has this happened to any of you?

My question is simple: In linux we can extract a .DEB file and manually put each of its contents in its relative system directory, then it works just fine after a reboot (or logout-login process). Is there a way to do the same for the .APK files?

Question how Android "system apps" works...

I did post this in the forum specific to my device, but I though I'd look for help elsewhere too, since the question is more basic to Android, and not really just my phone.

I recently rooted my LG G Pro 2 smartphone, did some stuff and everything was great. I was using CCleaner to remove some unneeded apps, but apparently, I removed the basic "phone" system app that allows the phone's cellular modem to work and make phone calls and texts (I'm thinking of it like a Windows driver, rather than a Windows software app). The unit works fine (WiFi, internet, and such), but I cannot make phone calls or texts, and I have NO bars (reception) at all.

So, here's the question: Can just adding in that system app back into the OS be done, or am I screwed?

I read two ideas...

One was to try and find a "phone.apk" and add it back to the data folder. But then I was unsure if "phone"apk" files are the same on all android phones or if each manufacturer has unique phone apk for each device.

The other idea I heard was to do a full restore, which would be OK, but then someone else suggested that if I deleted the phone apk, that I might have also screwed up the possibility of restoring the phone.

Finally, I used an undelete software after this incident, and the undeleter found a lot of apks and zip files, and I recovered those to a storage file on the SD card for now. But the problem there is that the files all just have number for names (for example, like "recovered_file_342579.apk or .zip). I have no idea if any of these are the phone file I deleted. I feel like I should be able to identify these files somehow, and just re-insert the phone file back to where it was.

What do you guys think?
