How hard would it be to make an app like this?

Hi. I want to make a simple Android app but I have no programming experience.
I want to make an app that categorizes Android games and I choose the games in each category. It's basically like a list of games in different categories and they lead to the game page on the Google Play Store.

How hard would it be to make an app like this for someone with no coding/programming knowledge? And any tips on what I should learn in order to make this app?

[Q] Hard bricked SM-N900V?

Hi there, my first post. Thank you for all of the great resources and contributions on here. I really appreciate all of this info and enjoy learning more about Android.

I had my 1.5 year old Verizon Note 3 (SM-N900V) that was acting weird so I warrantied and got a new one 2 months ago. It has been working great ever since. I have not rooted the phone or anything, running all stock software, Android 5.1.1. Last Tuesday I pulled my phone out of my pocket after lunchtime (had just spoken to my wife, sent a couple texts, you know the normal stuff maybe 30 minutes before) and it was dead.... I thought it was weird, thought maybe it just turned off o something, battery was about half full the last time I saw it. But nothing, nada, no response from leaving plugged in for a couple hours to charge. No vibrate on power+vol down+home button, not so response no vibrate from power button alone.

I have tried the mje and nc2 unbrick image with Win32Disk imager and am still getting zero response from the phone. Using a 32gb micro sd formatted to exfat. also tried fat 16.

I thought that I read when a phone is hard bricked and you are using the method with the unbrick image file on a micro sd card you will still get a vibrate when holding the buttons down even it the screen doesn't turn on? I am getting no response whatsoever.

I'm def. a newb in terms of my android rooting and flashing ROM's experience, I have only experimented with 2 different phones.

I have a feeling the phone is toast but I'm so confused by how it died... Wondering if maybe they sent me a refurb device when I warrantied it and it was just volatile? I'm also temped to order a new motherboard for it off of ebay but again I don't know enough to determine if it would work or it this is just a crapshoot. I am due for an upgrade but was hoping that I wouldn't have to upgrade for a few more months until the Note 5 drops in price a little, I was even going to just get the Note 4 because it has a microSD slot but it's the same price as the Note 5! I am using my old school Galaxy Nexus for the time being and it's killing me, the thing is a dinosaur!

Hard Reset and Stock Recovery Access

I've been having some interesting issues with my T-Mo M9 and I just want to do a hard reset to fix them. I'm still pretty familiar with the basics of rooting and such though I'm out of touch with it all. So my understanding is there are 2 ways to reset to factory: go in through Backup and Reset for a device, or go through bootloader/Recovery. The latter of which is considered the hard reset.

I've tried going through the typical button sequences to access the bootloader/recovery. I am taken to a black screen where at the top it says "HTC download mode", with the following options to select: system info, show barcode, reboot to bootloader, reboot to download mode, reboot and power down. Select reboot to bootloader, then recovery mode and I get a black screen with a red triangle in the middle of an M9. Reboot to download mode and it refreshes the screen in a sense.

So is the M9 now lacking a stock recovery for hard resetting or doing tasks like wiping cache? I'm not finding much about this (or I've lost my touch in terms of searching). I checked several sites for simple tutorials and they all say just a bout the same thing, or maybe a slight variation in the button pressing.

Oneplus Two - Solution for Hard Bricked Device

Hard brick for OPT happens when you change critical partitions. It will follow improper firmware flash or accidental erase of certain partitions. The phone won't show any response when hardbricked.
The solution for OPT is similar to OPO - you just need a Qualcomm driver and a recover package. The only full recovery package available is very big and it restore the phone to Hyrdogen OS, with everything wiped. So it would not be very attractive.
Fortunately, thanks to this post from Chinese supporting forum, a minimal version of restore package is provided. It would not wipe user data and guarantee a recovery entry.

uncompress the files to a local folder.

First step, turn off drive signature enforcement in windows 8/8.1/10. Tutorial Here

Second step, hold the power key for 20 seconds to force turn off power. connect OPT to usb, hold volume+ and power until your PC finds a new hardware (if it doesn't work, try hold volume+ and volume- together)

Third step, go to device manager in your PC, find the new "QUALCOMM-HS USB Diagnostics 9006" device. Update its driver in property page using the Qualcomm driver provided (for 32bit windows, select x86 folder; for 64bit windows, select x64 folder).

Fourth step, when the driver is installed properly, run MSM8994DownloadTool.exe in the recover tools folder, using admin privileges . Clear start in top left corner and wait for it to finish.

Now your OPT should be able to enter TWRP recovery. It still won't boot but you can manually flash anything again (like the full Oxygen OS package).
The procedure is tested by me twice. Enjoy!

I know that we can hardrest our samsung phone through button combination.
but i want to know that can we hard rest our phone through odin in download mode or any other mode if yes than how.

Having a real hard time trying NOT to default APPS

Samsung has removed the option to use an app "just once" or " always" when there are more choice to run a program. .
Example: certain email links I would like to open with chrome instead of Internet.
Or: click to call defaults to phone all the time, but sometimes I have to use my viop app, Ringcentral.
Once an app has been selected it becomes default.
Any alternatives I can try?

How to repair a hard brick SP

I have seen many thread on repair a hard bricked device but no one have worked for me. I explain the context. I have made an upgrade of a custom kernel but something was gone bad and the phone crashed just after. There was no more green light (flashmod) , blue light (fastboot mod) or red light. I tried to unplug battery connector of the mainboard, plug it and charge battery > no red light. I let the phone discharge battery > no red light. So i decided to unplug the battery connector of the mainboard and connect the phone to pc for the flasmod > green light. I have fully flashed the phone without battery. I have plugged the battery and reboot the phone. It is fully Working. Just for share, i don't know if that solution was posted.

Lg l9 hard brick

I earlier had cyanogen mode installed in my lg l9 P765. I also had clockwork mode recovery installed for doing the same. Recently i saw a post to flash android lolipop to my phone by artas in http://artas182x.tk/android-projects...timus-l9-aosp/. I installed TWRP . But since i couldnt proceed to enter TWRP recovery, i just tried using `reboot recovery` via terminal. This got my phone bricked as i cannot access my device using ADB or Fastboot. All i see when restarting is the LG logo. And all i can access is the software upgrade mode. Since i had came across such a situation earlier and overcame it using the method to flash new rom offline, i followed the guide given in forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 by @cmahendra. But i always got the process stopping at 15% telling that the phone and usb arent connected. I couldnt download any of the roms listed in the same page as the links seems broken. Is there a possible way to get out of this issue?

Nexus 7 2012 Hard brick after downgrade?

Hello guys! I come now to the point ..

I bought the Nexus 7 WiFi only for in-car use .. When I received it, had the CyanogenMod 12.1! so I decided to install the rom AUTODROID 1.2! I downloaded the ROM, install the .zip TWRP (latest version) and so I had a bootloop .. Restore backup done previously with TWRP! I am looking online and I see that making the dowgrade from lollipop kitkat, first I had to flash the rom original KitKat!

ADB and fastboot drain, drain the "ROM" (the right one for the Nexus 7 2012 wifi), reboot into fastboot mode and do the command .bat adb .. but something went wrong

"Fastboot.exe stopped working"

From here you have begun problems: recovery is no longer accessible, and restart I always brought to the fastboot mode! I had the bright idea to turn off the tablet ...

From here .. Black screen, fastboot mode is not available, recovery is not available, so I can not even give commands ADB .. When the connection to the tablet pc, windows gives me input connection, but during the driver installation I give me the error "Unknown Device" ..

I do not know what to do .. Can you help?

I tried to install cwm and it turned off. When I tried to turn it on nothing happened so I belive it is hard bricked. Thanks in advance

S3 Mini VE Hard bricked (DEAD)

So i have a S3 mini VE, and i was flashing a stock firmware on my phone suddenly the USB cable disconnected during the process (ODIN) now when i try to turn on the phone, it doesn't come on at all. the only way to get the phone on is to charge it (AC). but it goes into loop every 5 seconds. So when i take the battery outta the phone and then plug the charger in. It shows this message (See below) but won't go into loop. It's seriously weird. The button combo are fully dead.
So basically i can't get into the phone i tried every method, even tried USB JIG from eBay. i seriously don't know what's going on with the phone, i need help fixing this issue.
has this happened to anyone else?

Hard bricked moto x

i have a moto x and it had a SIM errors and sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesnt but it worked.
yesterday i power it on and it doesnt boot so:
- 10 sec power button = no boot
- vol down + power button = no boot

so i pluged it to the wall and it shows a green led in the speaker for 2 secnds so i left it because i think i was discharged..
i plugged it into the pc and nothing in the device manager in windows it appears in HID devices in USB Device.

WHAT CAN I DO ????
PLEASEEE.

Really really hard soft-bricked my Mate MT-TL10. Need help!

Hi guys. I really need your help.
Sometimes I am so stupid and doing really stupid things. Now I killed my MATE MT-TL10. and I think it is dead forever :( But I still have a hope someone can help me. So here is the story.

I was trying different ROMs to find a good one so I am satisfied with it. So all was good and I was putting it one after another trying(I never put Lolipop though), but then I put a Cinise version B122SP06. Seeing a lot of chinese apps I decided I do not need it and wanted to go back to international or europeaan version but it seemed I was not able to do it. Every time I put a new ROM in dload on my sd and restart on stock recovery it won't fatch it :( I was making some reaearch and found this like semi-solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2955415 wich was manually flash some images with fastboot. I did that and nice I had a clean european version! But then I digged into settings and found out that 'Motion Control' section is Empty! So apparently the solution from the mentioned thread was not perfect also my PC was seeing the phone as JAZZ which means it thinks it was still Chinise version. And then all of a sudden some stupid thing came into my mind and that was really-really-really STUPID! Never try it!
So I decided to make an experiment. In this tool which I used to unpack the ROM there is also a function 'Repack to update.zip', so I was hoping to repack it to a zip and then just flash it with a CWM recovery. Well I did it and after i selected 'Reboot system now' the phone restarted and just stayed at the Huawei Logo. That's it! and now I do not know how to recover my phone. I tried to go into recovery but no luck I just can't boot into recovery anymore. I was able to plugin the phone in the fastboot mode and try to re-flash everything again, like with 'fastboot flash boot boot.img', 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' and even some others but no luck so far. I still can't get into recovery. I do Up+Down+power and when it suppose to start recovery the screen just appears black and indicator is blinking green and red and then just turns off.

Sorry about my bad English and for the long strory but here how the whole thing has happened to me :( I really really hope I did not kill it complitely and I hope there is a guy who can really point me out to the solution. So, please, please

There was also some META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary file which I do net really know what it is for.
My thought are this 'repack' made some mess up with the paratitions on my device and even though I am able to flash the RECOVERY the system just does not see it. Or perhaps it did even something worth ;-(

wifi hotspot max users hard limit?

On LG Volt, the changes to max users of wifi hotspot does not stick there, always reverting back to 2 with no error messages in UI

in log I see
onCreate hotspotMaxuser is 2 total is 8 roam :1

So where can I change the hard coded limit of 2?
