Is CM12.1 better than stock for battery life?

I want to squeeze a lot of battery life out of my phone. I want to know a good kernel that doesn't require much tweaking and I like CM12.1, as I use it on my G2. Any suggestions?

Is it better to perform the same calculation multiple times?

When optimizing onDraw of a custom view, I found alot of object allocations in the onDraw method of that library.

What I don't know is if it's more efficient to calculate the same calculation multiple times or allocate one calculation to an object an reuse that object?

I want to hear your opinion about this, since it will be allot of work to change this "property" of the code.

Moto g better than idol 3?

So I am surprised no has caught this yet. But the 2015 with far lesser hardware than that of the idol 3 is getting very high praises. The one main thing that is really standing out to me is the performance reviews. The snapdragon 400 with 1gb of ram and just how smooth this phone runs. I would think this would be a major jab at Alcatel on how unoptimized their software on the idol 3 is. I think this is also a testament that our phone is very capable of a butter smooth experience without any lag or stutters what's so ever if this can be done on the moto g.

Better Battery Life !

The magic is back again.
Simply add this line on build.prop !
ro.telephony.default_network=0

It will keep your modem on GSM mode and switch to 3G/LTE until you use it.

Better Speed & Performance - Lollipop or KitKat?

Hello everyone.
I want to discuss which version of stock system works smoother.
I was one of these who wanted Lollipop update badly after trying Zaaap's CM12
Then - update came out, I installed it and I am completely dissapointed! Many of You praises 5.0.2 for stunning performance and smoothness, but I can't achieve it. Each time I'm flashing it I got the same, laggy system... What about Your experiences with Lollipop? Am I the only one complaining?

How to achieve better battery-time?

So my lovely Z3 is running a rooted 4.4.4 and I'm wondering how I can improve battery-time.
I'm already using STAMINA mode and I also have Xposed along with Greenify and Amplify. But are there any other ways?
There are for example apps like Juice Defender, are they any good?

whoes better XPERIA Z2 OR LG G3 32GB

hi everyone .

im here to ask you about thoes two phone the lg g3 and the xperia z2.
i have xperia z2 d6503 16gb and i see the lg g3 32gb in the store and i like it. i watched some review on the youtube and read some posts about it. and it looks pretty good.

did i change my xperia z2 to that lg g3 i need a bigger space and the lg g3 offer it for me because is 32gb.

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML batter perform better in cold conditioning

Hello guys,

I noticed much better improvement over battery life while in cold condition room,i charged my phone and I was surfing internet with wi-fi and location on for 2 hours,and it was on 99% after that 2 hours!
So I think asus developers should mostly work on decreasing of battery overheat...Phone was cold for the first time while using him for 2 hours and performed great in battery life...
I know this sounds stupid,but I think when batter overheats it drains quicker for sure.

better reception trick

Ever since I got my m9's I have been a flashing fool! I absolutely love it. But I recently learned a trick to improve my reception so I decided I would share.

I live in a city and my reception should always be 5 bars but ever since I got my phones I was only getting 3 bars max regardless of firmware or rom. I know because I have flashed them all. I have a developers edition and an AT&T edition m9 and both phones got the same reception.

well about a month ago I just wanted to try an experiment so I took my att m9 and changed the cid and mid to match a tmoble version. I then flashed the 1.32 firmware and then ran the tmobile Ruu. As a result I then had a stock t-mobile edition m9. But for the first time I had full bars for my reception!

Naturally I then flashed twrp and put a cutom rom back on it but I had the volte and wifi calling along with full bars reception. So put I that observation in the back of my mind and carried on with my business.

Well recently the tmobile update came out and I just flashed the firmware package that sneakyghost (thanks btw for your firmware files) put up and updated the custom rom I was on. But I noticed immediately afterwards my reception returned to 2-3 bars again. I really didn't care too much but then the rom I was using started acting funny. The developer decided to mess with the cpu cores on his update and in extreme power save mode over night it would eat 10% of my battery. And that is something I can't tolerate...

So, I decided to run the 1.32 tmobile (that's my carrier) RUU on my m9 and then accept the 2.7 ota. My reception then returned to 100%. after that I reflashed twrp and super su and restored all my data.
I told my wife about the reception and she wanted me to do the same on her phone (the dev edition) and so I did and got the same results....

So moral of this long post is that if you have poor reception than flashing an ruu for your carrier just might be the trick. This in return will save battery life.

This is the link with instructions on how to change your phone from one carrier to another. clsA gives instructions to convert ATT model to developer edition. But you can change your cid to whatever you carrier is and flash accordingly.

At&T and develop edition cid can be found in the link. Also make sure your mid match the firmware you flash. Tmobile mid is 0PJA12000

I know this is off topic but I tried to sync up Facebook with my contacts on XL and their profile pics are all very low quality/blurry. Is there any way to get a better quality for my contacts?

Better Camera / LTE on Stock-Based / AOSP Roms

Hi everyone!

My problem is that I always want to flash an Stock-Based/AOSP Rom because of better performance, autonomy and that stuff that this kind of Roms brings us...

But I always have to get back to Stock, because of 2 problems:

- The Camera lose quality and I lose "pro" options (like manual focussing and stuff)

- Never get 4G/LTE (I don't know why if even I change things, the only way I could have LTE is on Stock)

So I want to solve that problems to really enjoy this kind of Roms.

If anyone knows the solution, please tell me.
