Will the USA Idol 3 work in Japan?

I will be traveling in Japan and wondering if the 3G bands of the USA version of the Idol 3 (6045I) are compatible with Japanese networks. From what I've read the best possibility is the 2100 MHz band, but just because the idol 3 specs say "2100 MHz" does that mean it includes (or at least overlaps) the Japanese 2100 MHz spectrum?

Moto Camera on the Idol 3

The Moto G Camera software seems to work very well. It even puts the lenovo camera I've tried before to shame....I tried both picture taking and HD video recording. Very impressed with the camera.

Please note this camera requires that SELinux be set to "permissive"...you can do that as simple as installing and running the Selinuxchanger app in the moto thread or creating a small scripts to be ran out of /etc/init.d if you run "universal init.d". Permissive mode is required by xposed framework and the moto camera as well as several other packages. To get a rough idea how the camera works you can look here but be aware that currently on the port HDR mode and Slow Motion Video do not work. Panorama, burst mode, normal pictures and HD video recording all work just fine.

Moto g better than idol 3?

So I am surprised no has caught this yet. But the 2015 with far lesser hardware than that of the idol 3 is getting very high praises. The one main thing that is really standing out to me is the performance reviews. The snapdragon 400 with 1gb of ram and just how smooth this phone runs. I would think this would be a major jab at Alcatel on how unoptimized their software on the idol 3 is. I think this is also a testament that our phone is very capable of a butter smooth experience without any lag or stutters what's so ever if this can be done on the moto g.

Xposed Framework now working on Idol 3

With the recent release of framework 71 released here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=3034811 xposed framework can now be installed on the idol 3 without causing boot loops. Xposed for Lollipop is still in alpha so you may find that some modules still don't work but the handful I tried including gravitybox for lollipop worked fine. Xposed also has a module to fix a memory leak in 5.0.x roms which I highly recommend running. Make sure you install the arm64 framework along with the apk....if you run into issues you can flash the uninstaller via recovery and it will remove the framework.


There are many modules available now to customize the stock rom.

Idol 3 - 4.7 Question about the phone

Hello,

I would like to ask you couple of questions.

1. Does this phone has the 16GB chip?
2. Can the root be reversed? (for assistence)
3. The phone is having 8GB internal memory (/mnt/sdcard0), but my stock system has in settings only 4,74GB... and when I connect the phone to the PC, the PC i reporting that it has 2 GB (also reported by du, which i ran on the phone via terminal emulator) free but in the Stock system is free only 464MB.

Idol 3 5.5 DS Bluetooth problem

My car, Mini Countryman, can't connect do the phone.
Any ideas what this can be?
Anyone had this problem and know how to solve it?

Idol 3 5.5 DS scroll delay

Does anyone else experience delay or lag scrolling apps like Facebook and Instagram?
It seems some problems loading pictures and make it delay the scroll...

Bricked Idol 3, need help recovering

I installed the OTA update last night and it's just looping through the "alcatel one touch" and "smart move" screens. It's been like that for hours.
I need assistance in getting into recovery mode, and hopefully getting my files off the device.
I have downloaded android-studio and am about to install it to get adb and fastboot, and have downloaded the drivers for the idol 3. At this point when it's plugged in, my computer doesn't recognize the device.

Help Alcatel Idol 2 S (6050A) Bricked

My cell is an Alcatel Idol 2S (6050A) is with android 4.3 and decided to see if he had come to update a new version. I plug the phone software and trancurrio all right until I suffered a power outage when guess what was flashing. Now my phone will not start or load. Nor starts in fastboot mode or recovery. And the Alcatel Mobil 4.6.5 Upgrade software does not recognize.It reaches 20% and stays there. In the Device Manager in the Ports section appears: Alcatel QDLoader 9008 HS-USB (COM39). Eh seen in this forum and elsewhere that can recover apparently. But the methods differ because they are the great majority mobile LG or Motorola. For now eh seen some method for Alcatel with Qualcomm processor. Someone could help me?

Pero los metodos difieren ya que son la gran mayoria para celulares LG o Motorola. Por ahora no eh visto algun metodo para celular Alcatel con procesador Qualcom. Alguien me podria ayudar?

usb port problem (idol 3 5.5")

I found this evening that I could not plug in my usb cable sufficient to allow charging. It seems the pins in the phone had bent slightly. I was able to remedy the situation with a jeweler's screwdriver, thereby saving, for now, sending the phone back. But as I have never stuck anything in the USB port other than a cable, it strikes me that the USB port in this phone is of rather flimsy construction and likely to fail at some time in the future. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and whether he/she opted to send the phone back or found a fix. (I never experienced this with previous phones.)
