Is CM12.1 better than stock for battery life?

I want to squeeze a lot of battery life out of my phone. I want to know a good kernel that doesn't require much tweaking and I like CM12.1, as I use it on my G2. Any suggestions?

Battery life with advanced calling off vs on

My sister has the s6 on 5.1.1 with prepaid and you cannot turn advanced calling on as a prepaid customer. I read in the past that users that were having bad battery life were turning advanced calling on to help it. I also remember reading when the phone first came out people were doing the opposite...

So whats the answer these days? Is advanced calling worse or better for battery life?

The no contract plan is 5 dollars more a month so I don't want to move her to that plan to get advanced calling unless battery life is better. If its the same or worse it would just be a waste of 5 a month.

HTC One battery life (ROM, downgrade etc. questions)

Hello!
My HTC One is now 2.5 years old and the battery life begins to drop. So now my questions are:
-Which rom has the best battery life?
-Which rom do you use and how does your battery perform?
-Is it useful to downgrade to an older version of android to increase battery performance?

I get like under 4 hours of screen-on time with brightness set to lowest. (I use the GPE Plus rom)
I also tried to use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...ition-t2809443
After installing that, battery life got just a little bit better.

Well, that´s it and thanks for reading it ^^

Poor battery life on a rooted phone

Hi guys, I just bought a z3 from a friend, and I have some battery problem

On 5.1.1, my battery only last for a day, which is under my expectation for the z3. Note that I only use my phone when necessary, location, mobile data, nfc, bluetooth, wifi are always off when I don't need them. I lend my mother's z3v and its battery life was excellent, I compared the 2 phone by watching a youtube clip for 10 minutes, with only wifi on, the z3v only lost 1% battery while my z3 lost 3-4% each time. But according to cnet (sorry I can't post links yet), the z3's battery have a slight edge over the z3v. Why is this happening?

Anyway, I downgrade my z3 to kitkat, rooted it, install setcpu, greenify, wakelocks detector, I also use disable service. Like before, all the phone functions are off when I don't need them, all unnecessary apps are deleted. However, my phone battery is still nowhere near the non-rooted z3v. I have a feeling that the battery drain faster below 85%, when it reached 15%, it loses 1% every 30 seconds. Moreover, the z3v only loses 1% over night (sometimes not at all) in airplane mode, while my z3 loses about 3-4%.

What do you guys think? Is this a problem with the phone's battery? Can my friend damaged the battery in his six months of using?
Sorry if my English is hard to understand, I tried my best to describe the problem

SIM card and battery life...

Hey all,

I've been given a Gear S by my boyfriend for my birthday and loving it so far... Probably not so much the battery life.

I went to Orange (My net provider) and asked about getting a 2nd SIM on my line for it and was discouraged to do so due to the monthly expenses of the service and the fact I realy always carry my phone on me, using bluetooth isn't an issue.

But... I have a couple of old PAYG SIMs at home and was wondering if using those would lower battery life... Also, seeing as they have a different number to my phone, would that give me issues?

Thanks!!

[Q] ROM with the best battery life?

Exactly what the title says. I've been looking here and there for some ROMs that I would like to flash and I found quite a number of them to try out. However I want to hear from the experts who have been flashing custom ROMs all the time. What would you say would be the best ROM on battery life? I am currently running Hyperdrive RLS21 and I'll say it does decent on the battery life albeit the standby time can improve (I lose around 10% in a night if I leave it 100% uncharged).

Battery Life

Been off the charger for 18 hours now, pretty heavy usage today, 6 hours of screen on time, LTE running the whole day, lot of browsing, facebooking and 2 hours of netflix and I've still got 34 percent left. I find this very well considering this is the phones first discharge cycle. This is better than my Note 4.

Battery Life

It looks to me like its pretty good on battery. I only tested the usage time and not the standby time.
I had my phone on for 8 1/2 hours and my location was on the whole time with high accuracy enabled. I had Bluetooth on the whole time. Screen was set to auto.
Screen on time: 5:40
calls: 2:20
Waze: around an hour
and all the rest like emails, whatsapp, facebook, text, etc...

Did anyone see how the standby time affects the battery?

Battery life is great!!!

Battery life has been awesome! Moderate to heavy use intermittently since last night. Couldn't be more pleased. This is just an unscientific representation of what I'm seeing. I know there are better battery stat apps. If you comment on this, comment with how your battery life has been with other apps etc.

Awful Battery life after rooting samsung galaxy s6 on 5.1.1!!!

Hey guys,

i had the official 5.1.1 upgraded with samsung software update in my s6, after rooting with the unikernal root file avaialble for all variants of s6 running 5.1.1 from androidhow.com

even though root process went smooth, i am facing 2 major issues, :(

1. battery life i awful*, it gets discharged in 3 - 4 hours of normal usage.
2. a message on boot screen "kernal is not seandroid enforcing (this message would have meant nothing for me if i had no issues with my fone, i am 1 of those unlucky users who has got a faulty s6 with both front and back cameras having issues, back is fixed, and now front camera is remaining, the samsung sevice centre close to me didnt have the module, now with this message appearing on top, i cannot give it there as they can easily understand i have rooted my phone**)

does any1 know how to solve these issues??

Note:

* i have no deep sleep issues, checked and confirmed.

** my knox were already tripped, but the service centre close to mine didnt figure it out as i requested them to change the hardware only and not to touch my software. but with this red message, one doesnt have to get into download mode to see it.!!

Better Battery Life !

The magic is back again.
Simply add this line on build.prop !
ro.telephony.default_network=0

It will keep your modem on GSM mode and switch to 3G/LTE until you use it.

See the difference yourself !

Note 5 Battery Life

So far Day 3 of using the device on a normal workday. (It is officially released in Singapore already)
Seems pretty well optimised!

No powersaving mode, normal use at the end of a typical workday, some calls, WhatsApp, text messages, games, etc.

Using the Scroll Capture btw.

Poor battery life after switching to T-Mobile?

What's up guys,

so I have a Motorola Moto Maxx XT1225 running 5.0.2 stock (rooted) and I'm currently getting only about 3hs of screen on time.

I really don't know why or when this happened, but I used to get around 6~ average.

The only thing that changed is my carrier (I switched to T-Mobile). But still, I'm always with solid LTE signal / WiFi.

Ideas? Thanks

Battery LIFE!!!!!

I have a question, what is the best battery life method for unrooted devices like mine. I see a lot of posts about this but all involves having a rooted device.
