how to backup with dead touchscreen

rooted my phone few months ago, using this method.

apparently the phone is not so waterproof as advertised. just a few drops of water in the swimming pool (didn't even put it under water) and wet hands made the touchscreen unresponsive an hour after. I am going to return it to Sony as it is only 4 months old.

but I really like to backup all my stuff before I return it.
the phone works fully, even the display works, but the touchscreen doesn't respond to any swiping. is there still a way to do so? I can put the phone into recovery via ADB, but TWRP is/seems useless when touchscreen isn't working. is there another way, eg. via ADB commands or any other way, to do a full (nandroid) backup?

No touchscreen after replacing full LCD parts

Hi all,

I'm very embarrassing because my phone don't work, I mean the touchscreen.

I wanted to replace my cracked screen by a new full LCD + touchscreen + digitizer that I buy in www.g-plushk.com (http://www.g-plushk.com/full-lcd-dis...ite_p4139.html).

After replacing it by this new one the phone was freeze to the Sony logo so I go to the recovery mode and big surprise the touchscreen doesn't work (twrp or philz). Then I do a full backup in case I need it for later...and bizarrely then phone was able to boot again in my ROM (Slim 2.6)

The problem is the touchscreen doesn't work !!

Please if someone can help me I think I do it good and all connectors are good, I checked it twice. Thank you very much for the help !

Note 5 touchscreen sensitivity using 2 hands

Is anyone experiencing this issue. I am coming from a S3 where it fit perfectly in both hands in landscape mode. The note 5 is thin and big and doesnt fit as nice. It kinda is a pain to hold and the edges are so thin they kinda hurt. I am sure a case will help this and plan on getting one very soon. The issue though seems to be too much sensitivity along the edges. I have read alot where there was not enough sensitivity in the s6 and edge variants and they even added in settings -> display -> increase touchscreen sensitivity. I dont see this option but why not include this to decrease or increase depending on the user's needs. Seems simple enough. I think this is locked into the settings and not configurable. If the fingers only slightly overhang it causes any touchscreen interactions in the middle to be slow or not work at all. I have little fingers so I am surprised big fingered people arent freaking out or maybe they will as the note 5 is sold more, i know its still a brand new phone and not alot of feedback yet. Anyways thought I would get the ball rolling on this. Any have any suggestions for fixing the issue and not giving me a work around (like hold it better etc..)

Using Android as touchscreen monitor? Is there an app?

I have a Nexus 7 2012, and think the screen is great. It's a huge part of the reason I went with a tablet, rather than a computer. Unfortunately, there are some limitations that I really don't care for, and device capability is one of them.

I know that using a Febon HDMI UVC interface, it can be used as a monitor easily. I also know that there are apps that will allow you to use the tablet as a touchpad.

So the real question is, does an app exist that allows the touchscreen to be used to control a Windows machine, while displaying what the monitor output does? If not, how hard would something like this be to do?

Turn on WiFi without Touchscreen

So, my N4 fell this week and the touch stopped working. Due to the cost of fixing it, I decided that I'm not going to fix nor sell it. Then I got the idea of keeping it and using it as some sort of amazon echo-like device, using Google now for tasks.
But there's a problem: the WiFi (as well as mobile data) is off, and I can't make it turn on.
Obviously I tried to simply say "OK, Google, turn WiFi on" but that doesn't work, as all I get is a message that there's no connection.
I did some research and saw that is possible to turn on via adb, but USB debugging is off, so that doesn't work (for what I understood at least, I'm not exactly a pro I'm this stuff).

That's basically it, I'm wondering if anyone has any idea for a workaround for turning the WiFi on.

Some extra info: I'm running 100% stock 5.1.1 (I think, not sure what the latest update number was), not change to bootloader either.

ZTE Blade S6 problem - Touchscreen turns unresponsive when brightness is high!!

The touchscreen is getting unresponsive and unusable when the brightness has been set to high for some minutes. The problem disappears when the brightness is lowered. Also turning off the screen for a moment helps but the problem returns when it is turned on again. Propably, the heat generated by the backlight seems to affect the capasitive touchscreen calibration negatively. Obviously, it is a no go to rely on the adaptive brightness as the problem is showing when being outside in bright light.

A video demonstation is available on youtube with the name " ZTE Blade S6 problem - Touchscreen turns unresponsive when brightness is high!! " (youtube tag: y7oqd89X5jY) - sorry, I am not allowed to link outside XDA. The unresponsiveness shows up at about 10:00 minutes inside the video.

- Can this problem be solved and how?

Touchscreen Help!

So I just got a D6603 unlocked brand new

Out of the box everything was working fine and dandy. I wanted to root and flash a custom rom so I followed the tutorial on flashing D6603_23.0.A.2.93 with flashtool

After the flashing process was done and I went ahead and rebooted the phone I can longer get past the setup as the touchscreen is unresponsive. The hardware button works fine though

I tried rebooting it many times but it still doesn't work..

Anyone have any tricks?

[HELP] Touchscreen inverted after flashing stock

Hello friends,

I had so many problems in the last days. I flashed the first INU 5.1.1 version on my G920I, after a few problems flashing TWRP. Finally I got the phone working and no major problems until last days when battery started to malfunction. Anyway, after that I tried to flash the latest INU 5.1.1 versión (G925IDVU2COGA_G925IODD2COGA_G925IDVU2COGA_HOME.ta r) but the phone couldt start the Odin process. Then I tried anothers roms but nothing (all of them 5.1.1) after that Iflashed the TWRP and made a stupid "factory wipe" and then my device was softbricked.

The phone was on boot loop.. Finally, I splitted COGA rom in parts (modem.bin, cache, etc) and flashed system separated from the rest ROM. This worked but the only file that wasn't possible to load was sboot.bin cm.bin. Anyway, after that I tried to reflash COGA in one part but nothing. Finally I used the COF room (INU 5.1.1 from sammobile) and it was flashed full with noproblems via Odin but now my device has the TOUCH SENSOR INVERSED. whe I type in the right the letters on the left side of the keyboard are presssed.


By now I don't know what to do. Except that Im triying to flash a moded stock rom to get things fixed . I hope anyone could helpme because Im very worried.

Touchscreen is dead

So lately i got a problem..i was borwsing chrome and boom...touchscreen stopped working...i thought reboot would solve the problem but nope :/ it works for 2-3 minutes after boot but then it stops... Any ideas? I am ready to go into hardware just i dont know what to do there :/

Touchscreen Issue (after upgrading to 5.1.1)

Brightness slider wasn't responding to my touch sometimes, so I checked out the touch screen service test via *#*#7378423#*#*. Sure enough, major no-touch spots particularly with horizontal movement on the space near the top of the screen. This problem only began since the update to 5.1. Thoughts? Besides rolling back...worried it's a hardware issue?

Poor touch-screen performance with tempered glass screen protectors

I have noticed that the touch-screen performance is poor with the tempered glass screen protectors which I have tried. I notice that with the tempered glass protector installed that the digitizer will often lose track of your finger when held down. Here is an example with Angry Birds of what happens:

The above video was taken with a cheap 0.3mm thick tempered glass screen protector from eBay ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261962820490 ).

Therefore, I also tried a 0.24mm thick tempered glass protector from Orzly ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OFVM88M ). This was a bit better, but is still giving similar problems.

I think we need to find a way to be able to tweak the sensitivity of the digitizer to be able to compensate for the addition of a tempered glass screen protector, because I don't think they work nearly as well as people here make out. Does anyone know where to look in the Android settings/system to be able to adjust the digitizer sensitivity appropriately?

Today rooted my s6 on the oga update everything when fine until i used the finger unlock. I tried moving the screen but nothing happened. I used the unikernal root and i had a pass with no failures

everything went well

until I got to the recovery mode (TWRP)
It has become the touch screen responds in a strange way ... the Touch Response point slightly shifted to the right
(and i completed the steps with the mouse til the end)

the phone is rooted successfully But the touch screen problem is still up

i flashed it agane with a fresh stock 14.4.A.0.157 ftf using flashtool but still the same problem (slightly shifted to the right)

Any solution for that problem :crying:

Touchscreen Problem?

I bought this phone 10 days back. It worked fine for the first week or so. But for the past few days, I am having issues with the touchscreen. I press some key, but it recognizes it as some other key. The keyboard suddenly hides while I'm in the middle of typing. I'm sure the touchscreen is faulty. I bought this phone from flipkart, I've already applied for a replacement. It should be replaced within the next 2-3 days. I just hope I don't get the problem again with the new unit. I'll soon be out of the 30 day replacement period and won't be able to do anything. I wanted to know if any of you guys have the same problem, and if it's possibly related to software and can be fixed easily? Thanks.

One Plus One Touchscreen

Hey guys, I want to buy a "defective" OPO for 100$. The sellers told me that a part of the touchscreen (about 13%) is not working. He says it works every once in a while but it is really rare. I was wondering if I would be able to fix this trough a Kernel or a ROM update (he runs CM12S) or if I need to change the screen completely. The guy says he had the phone for 2 months and he hasn't try to fix it because he has an iPhone (LOL)

TWRP Flipped Touchscreen Input Left-Right(Horizontally) HELP!

Hi, I recently downloaded Flashify and the TWRP img and used it. However, when I booted the .img into Flashify, my touchscreens input (the action when you tap your phone screen), not the touchscreen orientation. The Input has flipped left-right or horizontally. So lets say there are 4 apps on the dock. If i clicked the 1st one, I get the 4th. 2nd = 3rd, 3rd = 2nd, and 4th = 1st.

Please tell me how to fix this. If there is an easy way like using build.pro to somehow flip the touchscreens input because the hwrotation=180 only changed the orientation.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I have rebooted, Settings>Restore, Cleared cache dav cache internal storage, advanced clean through recovery

Lenovo A6000 Plus Touchscreen Problem

Has anyone encountered this annoying touchscreen problem? It simply stops responding at times at specific locations on the screen. But it's really hard to reproduce the error at will. Is this a hardware problem or a software one? I am on rooted stock rom.
