Who's going to dump AT&T N5 for a T-Mobile variant?

I'm seriously considering this since the AT&T model will supposedly never get root and it's bootloader will always be locked. Anybody else following suit?

Ok guys, so far there have been some ROM improvements but no real aosp roms for our variant. I knew I should have went gsm instead. So I'm going to drop by tmobile tomorrow and see what they can do about putting me into a LG G4. I wish Bliss would release something for our variant.

Going to 4.4.4 CM11 to lollipop ATT M7

I've got hboot 1.57, 4.4.4., and the latest CM11 nightly. Unlocked bootloader, S-ON. I'm trying to flash the RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Cingular_US_7.23.502.1_Ra dio_4M.32.3218.06_10.46.1718.01L_release_424933_si gned_2 rom update from the HTC website. I keep getting an error 155 that it isn't the right rom image for my phone. I'm assuming I need to relock my bootloader for the update to take? Do I need to go back to full stock? I've googled a ton and cannot find an easy way to relock my bootloader. I'm not sure if it matters, but I no longer have the stock HTC usb cable so i'm using one that came with a dell windows tablet. Thanks for any help.

I've been stuck on the note 4 for Verizon without full root after 10 months. Will this ever get root and unlocked bootloader?

I have a HP Tp, 3.0.5. I downloaded the toolbox. I got all the way to the media where it says to copy the 3 files. I am stumped now, what 3 files do I copy, and do I copy them to Palm folder? I have downloaded every file I seen on your sight. It said it didn't see any zip files. I'm a newie and I don't know what I'm doing. I'm just sick of webos. I got rid of that completely. Please explain like 101, lol.

Snooping around on Samsung registering page and noticed they still have a 128 GB option for the Note 5 and S6+. Any chance we will see a later release of a 128 gb edition? Screenshot below

Reset RCT status when going back to stock

Hi!

I just figure out how to reset device status to Official (which is teoretically from factory original).

I'M NOT RESPONDING FOR BRICKED DEVICE. USE THIS METHON ON YOUR OWN RISK.

1. Go to TWRP and connect phone to PC.
2. Open CMD/terminal and: adb shell
3. umount /sdcard
4. mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/persist /sdcard
5. cp /sdcard/rct.cfg /external_sd/rct.cfg
6. Copy file from MTP/external_sd to any place on PC
7. Edit file with text editor and change required lines:
change Rooted to Not rooted
delete info of files (su, sh, etc.)
delete time of root files detection
8. Save file
9. Copy rct.cfg to external_sd on MTP device
10. cp /external_sd/rct.cfg /sdcard/rct.cfg
11. Now you can unplag phone.
12. Format system, data, cache from TWRP menu (I do that, don't trying without full wipe)
13. Go to Reboot and hit shutdown
14. Confirm to shutdown without installed system
15. Skip installing root
16. Flash factory kdz with LG Flash Tool 2014.

After booting you will se status of RCT saying Official.

going from 4.4 to 5.1 Few paranoid questions

I am currently on mahdi rom (kitkat 4,4) and want to go onto a 5.1 rom.

My question is do I just flash like always (wipe everything data cash etc) or do I need to do something else like flash another version of twrp

if I have to reflash another version of twrp(forgive me I havent touched gpad in 5-6 months) do i just flash the twrp zip or is there some hoops I have to jump through!

LS990 - quick question on going zv4 to zv8

What I've got
A rooted LS990 on ZV4 (done on Octopus box from a repair shop) stock, official sprint rom. I get 'restricted access changed' notification, sometimes 'hands free activation message' and on mobile data I see 'GSM' icon circling even though I have a 3G SIM in it. The phone doesn't have TWRP but I see SuperSU installed. I don't know if the bootloader is locked or unlocked.

What I'd like to have
bone-stock 5.0.1 official sprint rom on ZV8. and the ability to use this SIM I'm currently using.

Suggestions/recommendation needed on how to go about it. I don't see any OTA on the phone. I just need confirmation from you guys. If possible, please point me to the exact posts.

Trouble going to 3.2.5 from 3.0.8.. help diagnosing?

I've looked and tried what other people tried in threads, but:

Still getting "Error" on the flashing screen when doing the upgrade to 3.2.5.

Verified that it is unrooted, framework removed, ota updates re-enabled, safestrap is removed. Also factory reset and cleared caches. However whether I download the 3.2.5 upgrade file or I let the kindle download it, it will verify the file ok, start the upgrade, reboot into the regular upgrade/flashing screen, go a little ways on the progress bar, and then Error, and eventually reboot back into the regular OS.

So something else is causing it to hang up, is there anything I missed on getting it back in condition ready to take the 3.2.5 upgrade? ANy help appreciated> Thanks.

OmniRom Twlight Zone - WTH is going on?

This is my first attempt into breathing life back into my tf300t I've had for almost 3 years. Hardly used it do to the continuing blog down that always occurred and the lack of updates by Asus eventually led me to unlocking/custom rom/rooting and then soon thereafter to here. Knowing nothing about the process and procedures, although somewhat computer literate (I started on a TRS-80 in the early 80s), I did the cursory research for the uneducated I decided to try the lollipop variant of Kisskat 5.1.1. I used TWRP to make a recovery back up and then wiped/flashed/booted. Fooled around with it some but discovered a few quirks. For one, the zone closest to the Asus logo was rather warm to almost hot even if you throttle back the performance. But more importantly after installing my apps via the play store I began to notice some media issues. For one, the video was a bit choppy (I use VLC player) and my mp3s seem to be inoperable on almost any app. (I typically use Fusion and EZ Folder Player but nothing seemed to work). I kept getting issues that seemed to be related to the recognition of folders of file types. Often telling me an mp3 file was not a recognized folder or that the file type was not recognized or in some cases (EZ Folder Player) I simply could not change directories to access files. Any help in these areas may put me back in the KissKat Camp... at least until the thing catches on fire... then we can roast marshmallows and have a camp sing along.

Before jumping on the forum I thought I'd try a more simple fix - try another rom. Tried OmniRom and while not as zippy (or hot) it seemed stable enough to go with for a while. Did the Gapps recommended for the latest pop rom and the superSU file. Loaded my apps from the play store. Then decided that perhaps I should back up all my apps after having went though applying all the correct passwords and what not. Read the Titanium Backup was a the best option. Made an initial internal mem backup of all apps then read that I could create a zip of the apps to use as a recovery method off of an SD Card which sounded the better option for me (seems far more secure). Then I felt that I was at a juncture where I should test my backups before moving on the custom folders and docs and so forth only to find out a problem was in the works when the time came at an inopportune moment down the road. Well I discovered a problem. I booted into TWRP and wiped then used my recovery to bring it back to the last known state before my first flash of a custom rom (not sure if this is even a necessary step but it seemed like it certainly couldn't hurt). Then boot/re-boot to TWRP, and having read a full/complete wipe was necessary I wiped everything (Full data format - then wiped all options in the advanced wipe section other than my SD Card where I was holding my files for flashing). Then flashed (1)OminiRom 5.1.1 (2)Recommended Gapps package (3) SuperSU, and - this is where I may have had a bad moment - the Zip file generated by Titanium Backup Pro - Is this even where I can flash install this file???Was kinda lost there. Well... I think I then tapped the TWRP button for wiping/clearing the Cache / Dalvik Cache having read (although also having read to the contrary) that this was necessary to avoid a bootloop. Then I rebooted and arrived shortly thereafter at the OmniRom Boot animation of the droid bot blinking eyes and wiggling his antennae which is as far as this Rom, which once loaded and operated fine, will now go.

I have since tried several times to reload the rom only to the same end. I have even tried the latest nightly on the rom. Same result. Tried the latest version of TWRP (2 updates since the 2.8.5.0 I initially installed with) and both updated TWRPS were riddled with problems for me - Most importantly they would not reboot - had to force close via the power button only to have TWRP reboot to itself and the process start again. As well, TWRP would not do anything as no partitions were mounted nor could I mount them - just red error messages on the console screen when I attempted to do even a simple wipe. Obviously I was getting deeper into the omniRom twlight zone.

KEEP IN MIND - this is the weird part - I COULD and still can (1) Boot to TWRP and recovery to my initial recovery file I made of JB 4.2.1 stock from Asus (if it didn't suck with lag I would have stayed there to begin with) and (2) I COULD ALSO FLASH THE KISSKAT CUSTOM ROM but as I said I had issues with it which led me to try OmniRom which I thought was a good choice until the problems.

At this point, as I sit here - I have used fastboot to reinstall the TWRP 2.8.5.0 (since it was what worked initially) and I have TWRPed to the recovery JB 4.2.1 and then wiped everything using TWRP - Data Format and all advanced wipe options less my own SD Card. Another issue - I tried the latest release of KissKat #26 and this time, in addition to the problems noted earlier, I cannot seem to mount the SD Card as it is now unrecognized by the TF300t (although it worked fine in the #25 build).

I am at an impasse and any help with any of these problems would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get a decent functioning custom rom on this tablet to get some more life out of it.

Keep losing my custom recovery going to 5.1.1

This has happened twice now with 5.1.1 builds. I'm on a vs980 w/ 2.7 TWRP, and the last few times i've flashed to 5.1.1, i've lost my recovery. Everytime i try to boot to it, i'll get a "secure booting error" message. The only fix (i've found) has been literally going back to stock, then going through the process over again. Does anyone know how/why this keeps happening?
Process was from stock (27a > rooted > twrp 2.7 > 39a bumped bootstack > 5.1.1 slimrom

Is it confirmed that Note 5 is going to be released on 13 August or just a rumor?

There is no official confirmation about the launch of Galaxy Note 5 but various online news portals claiming the release date as on 13 August 2015. But generally, Note series always launched in the month of October!

Not going to fast boot or anything..

I have a Note 4 Sm N910L from Korea. I live here in Japan at the moment. I bought the phone properly over Amazon and its new. I bought a data sim for it and it was working perfectly for about 7 weeks then one morning when I woke up there was no signal I have tried everything - updated from 444 to 501 then downgraded again UP and DOwn Maaany times. If I go near the Docomo store I can get connected again and it will stay connected for the 3km back to my home and then go off again when I reach home and not go back on - so I know the hardware still works ( I guess). It now just continually says Limited service or "your card is not authorised to use this network". Ive tried many other sims in the phone, none work.

If you can give me a step by step COMPLETE guide with links to any files I need to fix it, I'll pop 50 dollars in a paypal account the same day I can make my first skype call again!!! First person's info that actually does the job gets the money.

Love my phone and Im absolutely &%$'ed without it.

Hope you can help (the wife is out buying some rope and a straight-jacket as I type)
