HTC One battery life (ROM, downgrade etc. questions)

Hello!
My HTC One is now 2.5 years old and the battery life begins to drop. So now my questions are:
-Which rom has the best battery life?
-Which rom do you use and how does your battery perform?
-Is it useful to downgrade to an older version of android to increase battery performance?

I get like under 4 hours of screen-on time with brightness set to lowest. (I use the GPE Plus rom)

After installing that, battery life got just a little bit better.

360 Xbox controller wireless - Some questions

I've just got a Fire Box & a new 360 Xbox controller wireless with microsoft's official dongle (official microsoft NOT generic)

Could someone walk me through what you pressed & for how long to pair it?

The Fire TV Box doesn't see it when I try to pair it (just continually searches). But it does recognise it partially for navigating menus. It recognises inputs from the left joystick & d pad only, & the A & B button. The right joystick is dead.

Some questions about rooting and flashing on the one m9!!

OK guys just a few question's here about the HTC one m9. I've always bought nexus phones since the nexus s. I've been him hawing around about buying a one m9 to scratch my cell phone itch to keep me till the next nexus release. So my questions are, I'll be buying the T-Mobile variant, is it possible to flash the international variant ROMs on the T-Mobile variant? Next, do I have to have s-off to flash custom kernels and Roms? From what I'm gathering I don't think so. I have adb and fastboot already set up on my laptop as I've been flashing ROMs for a long time now. Granite it's way easier on a nexus lol. Thanks in advance:good: oh and one more thing, is the bootloader already unlocked with the T-Mobile variant?

Nexus 6 questions on Verizon

Looking to pick up a nexus 6 today and coming from a locked down S5 is there seprate sections for the different carriers on the Nexus?

Also are there any special steps i need to take in order to root as soon as i get home. Can someone please point me to thrle Verizon root method? Thanks

Drivers and charging questions

Hi guys, 2 part question for yas!
1) I've just built my new pc and after years of putting it off, went with Windows 8.1 however, Windows doesn't appear to recognise my xperia z and drivers down right refuse to install (even tried installing em via flashtool) so, how do i install em?

2) this might be related to the above problem, but my new pc doesn't charge my phone from the usbs, it recognises something is their and my phone goes into debug mode, usbs and all that lovely stuff works fine in em

Notes : I'm very tech savvy so fire away! Just never been bothered until now to learn windows 8.1 haha!

Phone works fine and charges everywhere else (even in my works i7 machine (also running 8.1 which is weird!)

Towelroot questions once again.

Okay hi everyone, I literally just joined the forum, and I have questions about towelroot. I tried to use it a few minutes ago on my Samsung Galaxy A3, and it had the message "phone not supported". So I used the method where you input the specific code (the one for Galaxy devices) and when I pressed the "Make it ra1n" button, it went orange, and the app did nothing after that. Nothing more happened, no failed or succeeded message at all. Is there a way to fix this? Even if it is the temporary root, I can work with that, I'd just like to know why it won't respond and if there is a way to fix this particular problem. Thanks in advance.

Newbie Questions!

Hi everyone. So, this week my LG G2 is arriving and as i don't like stock roms cause of its bloatware and stuff, i want to make the processes to change to a good, smooth and fast ROM to get the maximum performance of this amazing phone.
i'm not a newbie on changing roms, but i AM newbie on this device. my old one was a motorola razr HD xt925 which for start i had to unlock bootloader to be able to flash any custom roms...so i gotta ask here, cause i didnt find a good thread for this (IF there is one, please post here!)

1 - is it needed to unlock bootloader first?
2 - when the phone arrives, what are the processes to direclty flash a custom rom?
3 - idk if this kind of question is allowed, but is there a ROM that stands out for better performance of the device? i like to play high graphic games!

Should i upgrade from xperia z1 ? few questions

Hello, i have xperia z1

i like it's 6H+ screen on time
i like it's snappy lag free performance
i am happy with it's camera , but i don't like it's low light performance

What should i expect from LG G3 ?
How is screen on time ?
how is camera?
how is performance ?( i used LG G3 once for one day but i returned it, and it's ui didn't feel as smooth as z1, it feelt more like touchwiz with little stutter here and there)
how much free ram is available on the 2gb/3gb versions on average?
do 1080p/720p videos look blurry on the 1440p screen ? (720p don't look good on my z1)

and is it a good deal to get LG G3 2gb version for MY Z1+50euros

Downgrading and Upgrading questions

Hello XDA.
I've got the LG G3 D855 and I got it with android 4.4.2 and than I upgraded it to lollipop (right now I'm with v20H) and I knew that the device is capable with 4G so I talked with my carrier and I finally had the 4G enabled on my phone.
But I suddenly faced the bugs of lollipop and I decided to downgrade back to 4.4.2, it was alright but the 4G capability dissapeared of anything even in the menu there was no option for LTE :( so I upgrade back for lollipop again and it was ok and I got my 4G back :good:
So my question is why did it happened ? and I want to know what to do if i'll downgrade back again and still have the 4G enabled and not lose it.

Some questions before buying G3

Hi,
I'm planning to buy LG G3 (32 GB version). It's very cheap right now considering it's specs but I have some questions before buying it.

1- How is general performance and gaming on stock ROM (lollipop or kitkat)?
2- Does it overheat or force the screen brightness to be lowered?
3- How is battery life (screen-on time) with moderate to heavy usage?
4- How is development going? Does it have stable AOSP ROMs without major issues or camera problems?
5- Are there any problems or any thing that I need to know before buying?

Beginner's questions for Verizon S4 5.0.1

I just got an S4 and have very little knowledge on what it takes to root it and install a clean version of android lollipop. When I got the phone I updated to the latest OS version (OTA, 5.0.1). From what I understand, the only thing I can do is use the Kingroot PC program to root, but its all in chinese so I dont know quiet what to do (is there a guide out there?). After that, I would like to install a clean, stock version of android, but I'm not quiet sure what is involved with that process (ROMS? Which one can I use? etc.). Any help is greatly appreciated!

[GT-i9000] Unable to mount /system and /data and a few questions

I am working on Ubuntu 15.04 and I used the Heimdall suite to do the necessary flashing.

Before I start: I created this post to share my experience with trying to flash a custom ROM on the GT-i9000 and receive some suggestions, though my main concern is the fact that I am unable to mount /system and /data. And yes, I have read posts concerning this issues, but they were too vague, so I decided to write my own.

First I figured I should flash a custom recovery, so I tried flashing the latest CWM for the galaxysmtd in Download Mode and it appeared to have been successful, though when I pressed the 3-button-combo (UP-HOME-POWER), It would boot the default Android System Recovery.

I tried flashing a few CWM and TWRP recoveries (though I didn't try PhilZ Touch, because goo.im is down and I couldn't find a proper PhilZ Touch recovery anywhere else), though I noticed that none of them would work, even though the flash was successful. So I figured I could try flashing a kernel, which would include some recovery - and it worked, to my surprise, though after attempting to wipe a few folders, I got the error: unable to mount /system and /data.

So I came to realise that the only way for me to get a working custom recovery was to flash a kernel, which should include a working recovery. So I ended up flashing Mackay_kernel_0.692_twrp_CMC-signed.zip, which includes TWRP v2.8.0.0. The recovery seems to work fine, though the same error persists: unable to mount /system and /data.

I tried formatting /system and /data, though to no avail: it just forced the recovery to reboot (I have attached the recovery log to this post).

Couple questions after unlocking bootloader (XT1096)

Ok, here's the rundown - I have a VZW Moto X (XT1096). I previously ran mofo on it had flashed the 5.1 img files to it and so had 5.1 rooted, but with a locked bootloader. After learning that JCase had gotten sunshine to work on it I unlocked my boot loader. I then decided that because I was worried about having the a kind of mish-mash of systems on it, i.e., 5.0 bootloader (unlocked) with hacked and modded 5.1 system files flashed from mofo, that I wanted to start fresh. I then used the XT1096 flash to stock script and flashed back to 5.0 (there were a bunch of problems and bootloops and force closes, but I am happy to report I am now on a fully stock 5.0 with unlocked BL). Following being stock I have tried to take the OTA but have been unable to do so. When I try it OTA on my device it just sits at 0%. When I tried using MDM it gave me an error message that it failed to install the update - on the device it said getjar: unlocked.

So, now that I am on 5.0 with an unlocked bootloader I am not sure how to proceed with my priorities, Root, WiFi tethering and upgrading to 5.1. My questions are this:

(1) How can I upgrade to 5.1 or does my bootloader unlock preclude that?
(2) How best can I achieve root?
(3) Once I am rooted what do I need to do in order to enable wifi tethering?
