How to root? (4.4.2)

Hi guys,

I'm coming from an HTC One S. This is a Verizon Note 2, with 4.4.2.

I looked through the How To Root/Rom/Return to Stock thread, but it's not very clear.

I don't see any root options for 4.4.x, it just goes up to 4.3.x in that thread. And I'm not sure what the VRUEMJ9/VRAMC3/VRALL4/etc. mean. Do those just correspond to the Android version?

I found some stuff on Google, but it doesn't come from XDA so I'm not sure how much I can trust this. Is this a good tutorial: http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutorial...2-verizon.html

Is there any way to root and unlock bootloader

so i some posts on the forums and what i see is that there is no way to do it, is that true?
my system version is 182.46.15.verizon.en.US

I have looked on Google and in here but I can't find a straight answer. If I don't care about tripping Knox is there a way I can root my phone? I just really need to root my phone and I don't care about the warranty if that's the only thing it does. Thanks

Hello,

first of all my idol has locked bootloader.

I just resized /data partition to 16GB, and it is working no problem, but I can not root it ( install supersu.zip).
After installing supersu.zip, on the /system partition are su binaries and SuperSu apk etc. so the zip file is flashed right way but, after rebooting the device I can reach the device via adb shell, and do whatever, but It is not booting :(

Is there any special supersu.zip package for our device? or Do I need bootloader unlocked?

Root and unroot moto xt1064

I have a moto xt1064 and took some pictures yesterday morning. There were a few I didn't want and when I selected a few to delete ALL of them were deleted. The pictures were on internal memory and I've read the only way to access mass storage to undelete and recover the photos is to root the phone. So i want to root the phone but also want to make sure I am able to unroot afterward to receive updates etc. I have not used the phone since the photos were deleted.
I did search before posting and didn't find anything on this particular phone.
Any help would be appreciated! thank you in advance.

2.Install the app.
3.Tap on the kingroot icon and open it.

6.Within a minute or two you will see a big tick which symbolize that your phone is rooted.
7.Now reboot or restart your device.

My name is Andrew and I am attempting to root my newly aquired Galaxy Note 3 to no avail. I have tried Odin methods, following each step to the letter only to be greeted by a FAIL everytime I click start. I have even tried Towelroot, modifying the modstrings that have been so graciously provided by your posters on this site. Yet, nothing. I really want to root this device and get rid of the AT&T crapware that's bloating my device. I had a AT&T Galaxy S3 before this that I had zero issue rooting using the Odin method. Hello all,
New user and made a stupid mistake. I have a note 4 and i tried rooting it via odin. Problem is i knocked my phone off during it and it unplugged. Now i try turning the phone on and it bootloops from the samsung logo to the sprint logo and then restarts. I have tried factory resets and everything. My phone will not detect in odin in the download mode. when i go in to recovery booting i get a the message dm-verity verification failed.... Please help me I am stupid for doing this and think i have lost about 1000 pics of my newborn son :(.

If I were to use pingpong root, does apps(Titanium backup,viper4android,rooted uninstaller,etc) that use root trigger something? Like from System protection it says no unauthorized system changes detected, will it be triggered?
Also just to clarify, they don't trip knox aswell right?

[Q] Root Xperia Z1 Compact Android Lollipop (14.5.A.0.270)

Hello,

I rooted my Xperia Z1 Compact on KitKat and changed the HOSTS file to block ads.
After the update to lollipop the root acces disappeared. So it's impossible to change the HOSTS files now.
I'd like to re-root my device, but haven't found an easy solution yet.
The only option is using KingRoot, but it looks a bit shifty.

Is there another easy way to acces my hosts file and/or re-root my device?
I'm no android expert, so a very detailed tutorial or an easy app would be welcome :)
