Towards a Complete Kernel Source Code For Lenovo A6000 / Plus

Complete Kernel Source Code is essential for building rom from scratch
what lenovo did it give us incomplete Code missing the important files and directories and hide the essential part
Lenovo should release kernel source in full, so we can look after our self
Kernel development doesn't take place unless we get the device's schematics and its corresponding defconfig.
Lenovo has hidden the caf tag inside the firmware. there is matching qcom caf kernel tag for the same chipset. But without the schematics of the device, we couldn't proceed in developing
so here is the last source kernel from lenovo and github !hopefully they are complete now!

Downloads:
kerenel source from github by ramsudharsan updated 20/8/2015 Suppose to be complete :

Unknown error code during application install "-505" on latest version of ZE551ML

When I try to install Modern Combat 5 it gives me this error. I googled it. Google says that Android 5.0 doesn't compatible with Adobe Air. This is a bug which is fixed in 5.0.2. But there are people who have Mc5 installed on their Zf2.

Hi Guys, today I managed to drop my phone, cracking my screen, and this now means I cannot type in my PIN number to access my phone. Also means I cannot back up all my info before sending the phone for repair/replacement.

Code to move a file to /system ?

Im a galaxy s6 user here, I found out that the switch recent app button (the one on the left of the home button) quite annoying while playing game like vainglory because I misclicked it quite often. After doing some research I found out that it is possible to comment out the key 254 of generic.kl under system/usr/keylayout, then i come out with an idea of creating a new generic.kl which commented out the key 254, then with a click of button on my app it will move the file with the commented key to system/usr/keylayout to replace the old way, vice versa, I will make a restore button there to restore it will the original generic.kl when I wan the recent app switch to start working again. So my question here is what would be the code to move a file to system and replace it? I do have some basic android programming knowledge and my phone is rooted.

Thanks in advance.

Honor 6 Lollipop Source code

Hi,

Please visit the following link and sign the petition for Honor 6 Lollipop kernel source code. We need to get as many people to sign this petition as possible. So please share it with your friends and other Honor smartphone users. If Huawei releases the sources we'll be able to request developers to make CM12.1 for Honor 6. And based on that other custom ROMS will be possible. Currently we are running EMUI3.0 or 3.1 which doesn't have a hint of beautiful material design.

I believe it is possible for us to make Huawei release the sources because they had earlier released Kitkat sources.

So go ahead and sign the petition.

Nexus 4 MTP Problems (Code 10)

Hey everyone,

for the past few months my Nexus 4 has been unable to connect to the computer through both MTP and PTP (although it's only MTP I'm concerned about). Device Manager gives me the code 10: device unable to start error despite numerous reboots of the devices. I have tried 2 computers, and both have failed to install the MTP Driver, however, on my main machine, the OS (Windows 7 64 Bit) refuses to install the MTP driver for another device of mine also (Optimus 2X). This has lead me to believe it is a computer problem and not a phone one. However, I also believe that something must have happened to both of my machines at the same time for the driver to not be installed on both of them. The driver installs successfully and quickly in safe mode, but not in normal Windows, which I hope might be of help in solving this error. I have tried the online registry tweaks, wiping cache, sfc /scannow, reinstalling windows media player, numerous uninstalls and re-installs of the drivers and countless reboots. I have also tried toggling both MTP and PTP, but they both trigger the MTP driver installation which eventually fails. I usually leave USB debugging on, however, this has not changed the outcome of the driver installation. It should be noted that ADB works without issue and can see the device perfectly. I know this was a lot of text, and I apologize for that. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

mm6 code help

First time poster but have been browsing the forums for awhile.......heres my situation. I bought a used s5 on att that I used for 8 months on straight talks network without issue. moved to honduras this week and trying to get my phone set up on Claros network. Found out the phone was locked because of failure to complete contract from previous owner. Att wouldn't let me pay the remainder of previous customer and gave no helpful suggestions so a had a third party swap Imei numbers to a clean unlocked number from a identical phone (s5 sm-g900a) . new number is clean and unlocked but when I put the claro sim in im getting a mm6 code. Data work with the sim card but no phone\text. swapped back in my old sim card(straight talks) and do not get the code and shows bars for cellular. is this something I need to go back to Claro for( trying to make sure because my spanish is very bad and it takes forever to get things done) to update the imei number in their system or is this something I need to go back to the company that did the imei swap? Thanks For any help or direction as to where to go from there.

Q: Dialer code sim unlock /active development?

Just curious if anyone knows if this (or similar) method to unlock carrier simlock will work?

Code:

Dial the following code on the phone keypad: *#197328640#

Main Menu > [1] UMTS >
[1] Debug Screen >
[8] Phone Control >
[6] Network Lock > Options
[3]Perso SHA256 OFF
After choosing this option, wait 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select back
Now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALIZE

You should see a message that says
SHA256_ENABLED_FLAG[0]
SHA256_OFF => Not Change

Also, is there any active development beyond ICS for this device? Since this is a sub group I'm assuming the roms in that other 8.9 thread won't work on the telus 8.9??

Thanks xda!

Code management when customising Android

Hello,

I have a question about the best way to manage an Android software project that will involve modifying core Android code.

My question is not a normal "how to do this in Android", but rather, concerns the code management process and the build procedure. Has anyone any experience with this, or can point me somewhere?

We are starting a project to implement an audio application on Android phones, the various ARM architectural flavours. This will involve modifying and extending the C/C++ code in the Media Framework library, plus some supporting Java code. In other words, relative to the complete Android codebase, the amount of code that will be affected is quite small. We will need to support various Android versions and various phone manufacturers and models per manufacturer. Our development process concerns using the pure AOSP as a basis, and initially targeting the Google Nexus as a reference platform. After that, customisations needed for real-world phones will be done in cooperation with the phone manufacturers.

From a code management viewpoint, my idea was to maintain a git repository for our Media Framework files, that will be branched for each maintained version of Android. Separately, we will check out from the Google AOSP repository the code for each supported version of Android, and overlay/merge our Media Framework code onto this codebase. The resulting codebase for each version of Android will be built targeted to the range of Android phones that we support, initially the reference Google Nexus.

Some development approaches that come to mind:
- For each Android version, we could patch Android's Media Framework with our code, and then maintain the entire merged AOSP in a local git repository. This would be a huge undertaking, when branches are included, but would at least guarantee that the codebase is always up to date. Howoever, merging our code changes across difference Android versions would be difficult.
- Another option is to only maintain our Media Framework files in a local git repository, branched for each Android version. Before building a specific Android version,we could checkout the Android version from the Google repository (or keep it cached locally on our build system or on developers' machines) and then patch Android's Media Framework files with our files.

Many thanks,
polomora
