Project Fi - Purchase Nexus 6 from Google or AT&T?

Hello,

A week or so ago, I signed up for Project Fi and I plan to switch over to it as soon as I receive notification (which could be months away I'm guessing). In the mean time I have some questions:

- I am currently on AT&T using an unlocked, rooted Note 3 which has been paid off. I thought since Project Fi uses the Nexus 6, I may as well go ahead and purchase a Nexus 6 while I wait for my invitation. I have a couple of choices:
- On the Project Fi web site, it looks like the phone purchase is 0, however, on AT&T, if I sign up for the installment plan of 2 years, based upon my monthly service and data rate, the phone works out to 0. I can either use the AT&T Nexus 6 until I'm approved, OR I can use the Google Nexus 6.

My question is, is there any difference between the Nexus 6 from AT&T and the one offered by Google? Are there any frequency bands not supported on the AT&T version? Can the AT&T version be 'rooted'? I have read on the Google site about their phone having a SIM card to support multiple networks. I have also read that the Google version will use a combination of Sprint, T-Mobile, and WiFi and I'm not sure if the AT&T version would do all of the this even with the special SIM card?

Thanks in advance!

How to Install Project Fi OTA???

OK ... Dumb Question(s) - How do I update to the current Project Fi Build LVY48E?
- I have downloaded the posted Zip File (LVY48E from LVY48C - https://android.googleapis.com/packa...rblock-fix.zip)
- Does this affect the LVY48C Radios? - Prior instructions said to just flash the system image if the radios were not changed but this is not a factory image .zip file? - It looks like the update mainly affects the system but there is a boot.img.p patch that concerns me?

I am rooted, unlocked, decrypted (Stock Rom w/Hells Core Kernel), and have TWRP recovery installed and I don't want to lose any data, get encrypted, change the bootloader or lose my custom recovery.

Any help is appreciated :)

Project Fi - SMS Gateway

Dear fellow xda-ers,

I am an early adopter of Project Fi. I used to have a feature in my previous AT&T number that can send me texts when people send a mail to <my number>@txt.att.net. After multiple searches and chats with various Project Fi Support techs, I now understand that there is no SMS gateway for Project Fi, at least not yet. In this scenario, can the revered xda-ers suggest me a workaround/alternative. The case in point is this; for my work, I get paged when there is a critical/high priority issue that needs my attention. While I was with AT&T, I used to give <my number>@txt.att.net in the call out field and I get a text whenever I am paged. I am trying to get same/similar functionality now. Alternative is to be stuck with a pager, which should be in a museum & not in anyone's hands. :(

All your suggestions are appreciated!

Project Fi and my other number

I want to use Project Fi to try it out but I don't want to port my number over (due to the promos I get from T-Mobile) but I want to know if I could still receive calls and SMS from my N6 using Fi if someone calls or texts me from my other number?

How to Configure Signing Information Project Structcture Dialog

I am getting the "Unfortunately Has Stopped" message in my release version that does not occur in the debug version. So i tried running the release version with debug. It gives me this message "app-release-unsigned.apk is not signed. Please configure the signing information for the selected flavor using the Project Structure dialog.". Well, i have no clue about how to fill in this dialog. Or even if i can do debugging with the release version? Any help much appreciated.

New Project - ROMFeedr

ROMFeedr
-|- http://romfeedr.es.vc -|-

Hi All,

So I've had a fair amount of free time on my hands, and I got incredibly bored... Decided to create something new.
Now, I realise this idea has been done before, but I wanna have a go, and I'm looking for people to help me do just that.

I need ROM developers who are happy to have their ROM publicized on my new website, http://ROMFeedr.es.vc. It's my new little CMS-like web system that allows for me to make blog-style posts about anything and everything with the ability to post HTML code in the articles, too. It should be really cool, because I don't host flash-based ads on my site, I don't ask for donations or anything, I don't hassle my users - I give them 100% direct and free (as in "free beer") access to my website so they can get their hands on the best development content in town. If this sounds like your kind of gig, let me know!

Do you know how to make a good ROM? Hit us up!

I am primarily looking for developers, BUT: I'm looking for Social Network Artists - people who run many social media accounts that are REPUTABLY CLEAN, ORGANIZED AND UP-TO-DATE - I want something new and catchy-looking that new users and old users alike are going to come back to - if you know how to rally a crowd on social media, I need you to shake people's cages (NOT LITERALLY) about getting onto and sharing my site!

Ultimately, if no-one here likes the site, then I'll probably take it down - but I don't want to do that - this website is my contribution to the XDA community! :)

That URL is ROMFeedr.es.vc - no sign-ups, no credit cards, no bull**** - just plain old-fashioned sharing, the way it's meant to be done! :)
