What devices do this forum support?

Hello all.

Long time user of XDA but kinda confused on this particular thread. I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have only installed roms from it's respective forum. I also notice other carriers have their own forums as well but this one is just labeled Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I've never knew which phones these forums support or why it exists in the first place. Thank you very much for info and sorry for dumb question.. I just can't seem to find the answers. I do realize I can see what models the roms support and most models are something other than the sprint or verizon models (N900p and N900v) thanks again.

[ROOT][NO-PC]LG-D320 and misc L70 devices root guide

Quick guide for people having trouble rooting LG-D320/L70 devices running 4.4.2 with a new 3.4.0+ kernel
This way is easier then any root method and NO PC is required

Simple, straight forward, takes not even 5 minutes.

First download and install these 3 apps.
CPU Benchamark
Terminal Emulator
KingoRoot.apk

Second, download this zip file and extract the "mrw" folder to your phones internal memory(/sdcard)
ReplaceKingoRoot.zip

Third, open CPU Benchtest app and press the "stress test" box, then minimize the app and open Kingo ROOT app and press the "ROOT" bubble

Fourth, Kingo ROOT says your device is rooted open Terminal Emulator and type the following

Code:

su

Your device will ask if Terminal Emulator can be granted root permissions, allow it then proceed to type the following

Code:

sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh

Then SuperSU will automatically open and ask to update SuperSU binaries, select the "update" box and when it asks you how you want to update it select the "normal" box

Five, Restart your phone when SuperSU says you need to restart for the update to take effect

ENJOY :)

How to root samsung galaxy devices

Hi guys

Straight on topic its 100% safe if you have brains.

Requirments

1-- odin3 installes on pc
2-- cwm recovery for your model
3-- a samsung galaxy device non rooted
4-- 50% or more battery
5-- kingroot update package

Not follow steps blindly

1-- go to setting - about device and tap 10 or more times on build number till you see "you are a developer now".

2-- go to developer option and enable usb debugging.

3-- switch off your device. Now press power + vol.down + home button to go to download mode.

4-- connect your device to your pc and open odin3.

5-- now on anseoid device press vol.up to continew.

6-- do not disturbe any option in odin. Paste the recovery.tar or recovery.img in odin folder and choose recovery in pda option and when brousing is done hit on start.

7-- your phone will reboot normally after some time.

8-- now power off device and press power + home + vol.up to boot to cwm recovery and use vol keys to scroll and power key to select.

9-- select backup and restore option and select backup. ( make shure you have an external sd card and atleast 1.8 gb is free in that).

10-- after you made a nandroid backup. Reboot your device normally and you will find a folder as clockworkmod. Inside that is your nandroid backup
Save that whole foldef onto pc. Never delete it.
THIS IS A NANDROID BACKUP YOU WILL NEED IN FUTURE FOR REPARING HARD OR SORT BRICKED DEVICE SO DO NEVER DELETE IT.

11-- now you have a custom recovery and nanddoid backup installed.

12-- reboot again to recovery and select install zip from sd card and choose the update zip and hit yes.

13-- when its done reboot normally and you have a rooted 100% wprking ssung galaxy device.

Hit thanks if it helped.

I will try providing the update.zip

If any problem my id is
droidgod1@gmail.com you can email me

Peace

USB OTG - external devices not recognised

Hi there,

I have a game that I wanted to play with an external controller, I've got a wired XBox 360 controller to hand, so I went down to my local computer shop and managed to get my hands on a usb otg adapter.
I was using a custom rom based on 4.2.2. When I plugged the controller in it gets power and the central light blinks. However, the system gives no message telling me what it is, and the controls do not work for the game.
I tried the USB host controller app and that told me "usb s3c driver not found", or something similar. It also did briefly tell me that the 360 device was connected.
I thought perhaps if I tried a different rom with a different kernel that might kick things into life. So last night I successfully installed the JazzRom from the development page for the Galaxy Note 8.0.
After that, I plugged in a mouse - which, low and behold, it recognized - I saw the cursor moving over the screen and everything! It did seem a bit dodgy though, in that it would say "mouse disconnected" when I hadn't, then I would plug it back in and it would connect again. My USB keyboard worked too.
Then I tried the XBox 360 controller and nothing happened.
I've tried various apps to diagnose the problem - but if the system doesn't pick up the device when you plug it in, it doesn't seem there's much you can do. What's more annoying, now the mouse and keyboard don't work either.
Is there nothing I can reset or alter (I have root access) to help? I've tried the cache in Settings and wiping the Dalvik cache. I have a app called USB/BT Joystick center now, that might help if it could get a signal from the controller, because somebody said it might just be the mapping of the XBox controller that stopped it working.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe a dicey otg cable.
Surely this should work, in theory, though?

Stagefright patch for MTK 6732/6752 devices with Kitkat 4.4.4 and Custom Recovery

Thanks to Jiayu Germany for their quick patch against stagefright vulnerability! I slightly modified their flashable .zip, so it should work on every smartphone based on a MTK 6732/6752 SoC running Kitkat 4.4.4. You need a custom recovery in order to flash it.
Please make a full nandroid backup before installing this and create a backup of the originial /system/lib/libstagefright.so - e.g. you can rename it to libstagefright.so.bak

[Q] Windows 10 Mobile on Windows RT devices?

So, Windows RT is dead. There is scheduled Update 3 in September, but it will only feature minor changes. It was also confirmed that Windows 10 Universal Apps will not run on RT Update 3. So, pretty much the same situation as Windows Phone 7(.8).

The question is simple. Could Windows 10 Mobile be ported to Windows RT devices? I know WP8 on WP7 was not possible because of lack of drivers, but this was largely due change of kernel (NT instead of CE). Windows 10 are based on NT kernel as well as Windows 10 Mobile, so it should theoretically work. What is your opinion?
