Dialer contacts smart search

In Note 4 when we would open the dialer and smart search a contact name using the keypad, it would show the more frequently dialled contacts on top....Note 5 shows all contacts matching with the key combination typed in alphabetical order....any way to change this to show as note 4 did? This is such a regression by Samsung of features that worked just fine!!!

Custom Ringtones for Contacts

I just got my Note 5 today and I was working through setting it up. I was able to setup a new default ringtone just fine. But, I have a different ringtone I use for my wife so that I know when she's calling. I've looked through all the settings and seem to be unable to set a ringtone specific to that contact. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

On the Note 4 I did this by editing the contact & there was an option to assign a ringtone. It doesn't seem it's anywhere to be found on the Note 5.

Sync contacts in Exchange account?

Hello,
I have added my bank's Exchange Account in Email App,
While adding the account I unchecked Sync Contacts,
What will happen of I check (enable) Sync Contacts?

- only contacts saved in my exchange account will (Sync) to my device??
OR
- my mobile contacts will also Sync to my Exchange Account?

[Q] Lenovo K3 Note - Stock ROM - Contacts won't sync with Google

Hello dear xda-developers!

I just received my Lenovo K3 Note and Flashed it back to the Stock Rom (VIBEUI_V2.5_1529_5_1063.1_ST_K50-TS after an Update) and installed Google Play store. After that I proceeded to install all the Google services and Apps I need.
Everything is working just fine except for the Contacts. When I open Contacts and go to the Account Settings, there is no Google Account. I cannot add a Google Account either, it only offers me WhatsApp.

If I go to Settings --> Accounts --> Google and select my Google Account, then I have the following Sync Options:
App Data, Calendar, Drive, Gmail, Google Fit data, People details
... but no Contacts :(

I've tried installing 3rd party Contact Apps and also deleting the app-data and cache of the "Contacts Manager" and "Contacts Storage" Apps, but all to no avail. VIBEUI just doesn't even give me the option of getting my Google Contacts.

Any Ideas? I'm really happy with the phone so far, but this needs to work :/

Thanks in advance for any help, but I really don't need workarounds, I know there are tons of ways to export/import contacts, but I use my Google Contacts on multiple devices and I need a way to keep them synced the way Google intended ;)

I think that works in any custom rom with Lollipop in rom stock might work erasing their odex folder of each file, but did not do the test

Contacts app will crash when opening certain contacts

I have a SM-G9250, never rooted is factory stock with Android 5.1.1, which had been working with no trouble at all, however, this morning the contacts app started doing something funny,

I tried openning a contact and the app read: "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped" and it shuts.
It only happens with a few contacts, not all will close the app, don't know how to fix, I have restarted several times, and did a back up and restore of the contacts only,


Has anybody come across this? I searched the forum but didn't find a thread about it,
Help is appreciated in advance.

Excel to vcard contacts groups

Hello.
I have 3 excel files with a list of 150 contents names on each one of them.
Is there any way to add this list to the phone as groups?
Lets say that the excel files are A,B and C
And i wish to add them as groups to my phone directly. So i will not need to pass any name on the list to create groups?

PROBLEM: Improperly Merged Contacts on Phone, but Google Contacts is Fine?

I asked as by the oneplus forum guys to post here to get a solution. I've been using OnePlus for a while, and I recently had to clear my Contacts app data and cache. All of my contacts are currently saved in the cloud with Google, and I have other apps installed such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Waze.

However, upon resyncing my contacts from Google, I get contacts that are merged incorrectly in random order only on the phone . The cloud is fine, and I am not sure why this local contacts problem is occurring (Example of improperly merged contacts: Randy contact merged with Stacey contact, Mom contact with Tom contact, Ryan contact merged with Customer Service Hotline contact).

The only solution is to separate the contact in Edit mode. However, this is impractical for thousands of contacts and it's hard to know which ones have been merged incorrectly until the improperly merged contacts appears during daily usage. Does anyone have answers for the below questions?

1. Is this improper merged contacts a common occurrence and why is this happening?


2. If so, how can one resolve this merged contacts issue quickly and easily?


3. Is there a way to batch separate all the contacts on the phone? That might be a probable solution

Syncing Facebook Contacts..

I was told i couldn't sync my facebook contacts to my phone cause this is "STOCK ANDROID" is this true?? if so this is screwed up!!! It's the only thing i don't like about the phone cause i like showing the phone numbers and contacts and birthdays and events ect....

Google Contacts won't sync

Anyone had an issue with contacts in google account not syncing after the last OTA upgrade (5.1.1 0F8 Build)? All other sync (calendar, chrome, drive, gmail, App data) in google accounts work without issue. Contacts, however, have not synced successfully since 7/31/15. Manually syncing results in the sync circle spinning momentarily and then stopping. No errors, but no updates either. I've gone and cleared the cache a number of times but it hasn't resolved the issue. Any thoughts / solutions would be appreciated.

Q | contacts from PC to phone

Hey everyone,

I just got my phone back from the lab where they fixed it and they wiped everything, lucky me I knew that's an option so I backed up everything I need on the computer.
I used the sync droid software that worked perfectly last time I used it, but now when I try to restore the software crashes every time I hit "restore", I tried using compability mode and nothing helped.
I find out the backup directory in the computer and there's an xml file that contains all my contacts but I can't seem to find any way to make my device import it to contacts.


Any suggestions, please?

Facebook contacts picture sync?

Hi, I want to sync my contacts photos with Facebook. In the past I used HaxSync but it's not compatible with Android Lollipop 5.1.1 . Is there other apps or a way to use Facebook contacts picture for my contacts?

I know titanium backup is great for user apps. But what about system data like contacts, photos and SMS which isn't synced to a Google account. What's the best way to backup and restore these for installing a custom rom.

Importing spb contacts to Gionee M4

I lost my Galaxy Note 3, and have bought Gionee M4. I would like to know how to import the backed up contacts (spb file, created using Kies) to Gionee.

Contacts full of redundant addresses

I synced my contacts from an Exchange account (365), but along with all my actual contacts in Outlook it's synced the address of just about everyone I've ever emailed or received an email from.
How the hell is this happening?
It's definitely syncing ONLY Contacts from the Exchange account.

Anyone else get this problem?
