Games with low data usage?

I don't have constant access to wi-fi so I have limited data available. Can someone recommend me some online android games that don't use a lot of data to play? I thought about Agar.io since I love playing it on PC, but don't know how much data it uses on phone.

Full back-up : rooted firmware + data + apps. Possible?

Hello,

I have an issue with the screen that is detaching more and more. So I plan to send it back to Sony SAV.

My phone is rooted and I really want to keep the firmware I am using right now (I do not want to move to Android 5).

I know how to copy my data, applications and so one. But I want a full backup to perform a full restore once it will be exchanged. Is there any way to do a full back-up with the firmware also?

Thanks,
Javier

Slow mobile data after 5.1 update

So I updated my phone a month ago to 5.1 from 5.0.2. Via ota update. Ever since then my mobile data is just sooo slow, pretty much unusable. I have to use WiFi everywhere I go. When I was on 5.0.2 I had no problens could stream videos in full HD with any lag and do Web page searche. so about a week ago I did a fresh install, wiped everything and did the latest us custom firmware, but still no change. I thiught I saw a thread on this issue but I I can not find it and tried googleing and doing the forum search but no luck😢 I hoping some one can get me in the right direction or throw some ideas to a fix. Please

My Note 4 Mobile Data is slow on Official Lollipop and Kitkat But fast on custom Rom

I just bought a second hand Tmobile Note 4.

- I have problems with mobile data, including browsing, play store... actually everything. It's kinda slow and stuck to load the contents and the 4G/3G signals itself is not stable
- Wifi connection is very fast.
- I Downgrade to Kitkat, the problem is the same.

Then I try CMRemix Rom and everything turns out to be fast as it should.

Anyone knows what caused slow mobile data , I believe there something to do with modem or software conflict.
I don't wanna use custom rom because I can not use spen with it.

Please let me know if you have same problem and how to solve it.

Thanks

can't make or place calls, but SMS and data is fine

Hi all,

My problem is that my Galaxy S3 (i747M) cannot make or receive phone calls*, but I can send or receive most SMS**, and my LTE data is fine***. I've tested to ensure it's not my account with Rogers, or my SIM card. I took my SIM card and put it in two other phones, and both worked just fine (one Rogers, one Telus). Putting their SIMs into my phone and the same problem as with my own SIM in my phone. I have unlocked my S3 using the 4.2 trick, but I didn't have this problem back then. I'm assuming this isn't causing me issues now.

I used asterisks because each of the above has some additional details:
* I cannot reliably make and receive phone calls. For example, I can try calling the same phone number (home) 10 times, and it may only go out once. From my home phone I can try calling my cell phone 25 times and only get through once. Every time my calls out fail, it either sits at "Dialing..." for 30 seconds before ending in "Call Ended 0:00" or just immediately drops the call without the 30 seconds of "Dialing...".

** Most of the time I can send and receive SMS from any other cell phone. Occasionally a message won't send out even though I have 4/5 signal bars. Resending the message works. Not sure if this is related to my issues with calling.

*** LTE data is fine (using LTE APN). Switching away from LTE to just 4G/H+ and data is a bit spotty. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't. LTE always connects just fine.

I've tried all sorts of flashing and reflashing:
- problem started when I was on S3Rx 4.0, but I never thought much of it because most calls went through fine
- problem got worse when I was on Lollipop (CyanideL), progressively so
- used Odin to flash stock NF2 (downloaded from Sammobile site), was no different than when I was on Lollipop (CyanideL)
- used Kies to flash stock N__ (forgot exactly which one), still no different
- flashed different bootloaders and modems
- while in stock NF2 firmware, went into *#2263# and made sure it was set to Automatic.

So any ideas what problem this is? I just find it extremely odd that calls almost always fail, yet SMS and data aren't a problem. Of course, when my SIM is in another phone (Nexus 5 on Telus, Galaxy S5 on Rogers) I was able to do everything without any problems: calls, SMS, and data.

Thoughts as to what this could be? Is this a hardware issue? If it's software, what could it be? My warranty's out and I'm willing to flash anything or pop the phone open (already have to make sure antenna isn't disco'd).

Thanks!

[Unlimited Data] Did you know?

Did you know that there is basically no more alternate upgrade for unlimited data users? I called into VZW to buy a new device on one of my three lines. My line has the unlimited data, my others do not. I was told that I would lose my unlimited data if I bought a device not at retail price. Of course I said "I know that on my line, but i want to on another line." i was then shocked to hear that VZW has a system where it can see when a device was purchased , if from them, and how it was purchased. If the system sees that a device was purchased on a 2 year or device payment plan, and then transferred to another line, that line will lose unlimited data without notice. Again, this surprised the heck out of me. Seems really shady. I called in a second time and it was confirmed to me again. What are YOUR thoughts on this? Even if you are not on an unlimited data, what are your thoughts from a customer perspective? I do not know by the way if this also applies to data promotions back in the day like my mom has. Personally the lollipop update kinda screwed my phone, so i was going to go S6 Edge+. Thanks guys.

Data usage are stored in which location?

Hi all,
I need to know where each application "data usage" are monitored in android.
I am planning to test(hack) an application by having tie up with that application team.
For that I need this information,
I am able to see UI of each app usage in settings
Watsapp - 2mb
Hike - 5 mb etc
But I need the file where this information are stored.
And is there way to edit that file in rooted mobile.
Thanks in advance.

Deleted /system and all data | ADB doesn't recognize phone | Recovery still works

Hey guys,

today I wanted to wipe my HTC One - pretty standard, just a factory reset. But I accidentally wiped /system too - now I don't have an OS. ADB doesn't want to detect my phone under any circumstances - neither ADB Sideload, nor in fastboot mode, nor does the computer even detect the phone as a phone, it just says "Unknown Device".

Bootloader: Tampered, Unlocked.
S-ON
HBOOT 1.57.0000
TWRP 2.8.5.0

Hope someone can help. If additional info is needed, I'll provide you with that.

Trying to recover data after XT1096 5.1 black screen bug

So I encountered this bug about 2 days ago. It's basically a bug that results in an un-responsive black screen for no apparent reason. I tried all the standard support protocols to save my data (i.e. copy files to pc via USB, and using Cellebrite to pull them off) but without MTP or USB Debugging enabled none of these options worked. Both Verizon and Motorolla tech support advised me to factory reset my phone. However being that a reset will wipe all my data, I've refused to go down that path (yet). So after doing some of my own research I came up with the following ideas, which so far have not been successful.

Idea 1 - use adb to sideload an OTA update with a fresh image that will hopefully resolve the black screen bug but not wipe my data. I followed this thread with partial luck. I got about 47% through the sideload process before it crashed complaining about an invalid full image check

Idea 2 - use fastboot to flash all the images except user data (again with the hopes of resolving the black screen bug without losing data) - But I can't seem to find a compatible set of stock images that will play nicely with my unrooted and locked bootloader phone.

Idea 3 - root my phone, load a custom rom (with no black screen bug) and preserve my user data - unfortunately mofo doesn't support an XT1096 root since I've already accepted the 5.1 OTA.

So my question are:
1 - Are there a set of verizon stock digitally signed images anywhere out there that will work with my XT1096 with 5.1 already installed?
if not
2 - Is there any way to root my phone or unlock the bootloader so that I can accept non-factory images without the use of Mofo?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Lg g4 system data

:D Ive used the low effort rooting method. I can't find any .img file in storage so I'm pretty sure I deleted it right after I completed the process. But I noticed In settings>storage>internal storage under miscellaneous there is a +10gb file { system data} that is whited out. I was thinking that it was part of the .img file when i rooted with thecubed s method that i forgot to delete. But I can't find the .img anywhere in Root Browser>storage. What is the 10 gb system data file whited out. Under internal storage? And I am curious post a screenshot of some of your internal storage screen.
P.s. And its not anything to do with twrp backups cause that's below on the bottom of miscellaneous.

No texts, calls and data and service in and out.

Okay decided to flash candy last for a little bit just to get a feel of it. Flashed back to my stock backup and can't send texts or get them. Calls don't go through and calling the phone rings four times and to voicemail. Tried going through activation but even when it holds lte it claims no service. I do remember seeing an activation prompt when I flashed Candy maybe that messed something up? I'm lost here... Just tried ##72786# and phones reboots and comes back but it doesn't continue the process.

[Q] Spotify External Data Showing As Internal?

Hey guys,

I'm having this weird issue with my phone.
I specifically purchased a 32GB SD card to save a bunch of music from Spotify offline, and have a lot of room to do so.
Now, all of my offline data is in the appropriate folder on the External SD, and using Solid Explorer I can see that the folder size is correct and the files are there.
However, Android is interpreting the data as being stored Internally, and hence I am having loads of trouble with "insufficient storage space" and regularly unable to update apps/download new apps etc.
In the Link2SD app, the "external data" for Spotify is showing as being located at /data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music, but a check in Solid Explorer shows this folder does not even exist, let alone stores all of my offline data?
The actual location of the offline data is /[externalsd]/Android/data/com.spotify.music.

Anyone have any clue why this is happening and what I can do to rectify it? It's truly, truly frustrating.
Also, I'm on lollipop (most recent Insertcoin build). The problem was also occurring in KK before I updated.

Cheers.

Android 5.1.1 OTA on rooted device without losing data

Hi all,

I have Nexus 5 Android version 5.1 (LMY47I), rooted, unlocked bootloader and TWRP.
As we all know OTA doesn't work with rooted devices...

Is there a way to update to Android 5.1.1 flashing the OTA zip file without losing data (apps data, pics, vids, etc) ?

By the way which should be the right file? LMY48B or LMY48I ?
Whats the difference?

Thank you.

Reflash without losing data?

Hi guys,

I've been having some persistent trouble with my device and have been advised to reflash to see if that fixes my problems. Someone suggested to me on a previous thread that it was possible to do this without erasing all my data and apps and such, but I had always thought that reflashing (following, for example, these instructions) would wipe my phone completely. Am I just completely wrong or is there a different method which avoids wiping the phone.

The exact advice I was given is as follows:

Quote:

Fastboot flash the images separately. Don't flash the userdata.img. Will keep your data.

My confusion is really with the statement "fastboot flash the images separately" - the only image I had thought to flash was a fresh copy of the stock 5.1 ROM I'm running, and surely this would wipe the phone?

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious - I'm still very new to the business of rooting and custom ROMs.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm running stock 5.1 ROM over the latest leankernel (on an N6 of course).
