Sony smartwatch 3 not updating or syncing

Yesterday I got my first android wear smartwatch which is the sony smartwatch 3 from amazon but it is on software version 4.4W and the build number is "tetra-userdebug 4.4W KGW29E 1023 test-keys" and t says its model is "tetra". THe problem is that it doesnt detect any updates (I am pretty certain that lollipop is out for this) and that the android wear app does detect the watch faces i have installed.

[Q] Android Wear on smartwatch 2

Hey guys. Possible is porting android wear for example from smartwatch 3 to smartwatch 2?? Couse smartwatch 2 have android wear based firmware not real android wear. I try looking inside in smartwatch 2 and 3 software and both have something different. So if android wear based and android wear is both the same so why is different hex codes?? Its very dificulty... But if this possible to port android wear maby together try??

Smartwatch 3 cannot sync apps downloaded on phone.

It's been a month now and since the watch started behaving weirdly after the 5.1.1 update. It could only sync newly downloaded apps or watchfaces when forced to update using 'resync apps' on the android wear companion app. However, just recently it has stopped syncing altogether despite forcing it. Forcing it would only result in android wear losing connection to the watch. I'm currently using a sony xperia z3 with Android lollipop 5.1.1 installed (rooted). Is there anyway I can troubleshoot this? Thanks!

If Samsung Gear Smartwatch worth to buy ?

General Smartwatch Keyboard Concepts

I believe that it is possible to create a very usable on-screen keyboard for a smart watch. Traditional keyboards are too small. I think we need completely different approaches for smart watches. This thread is to see hat ideas other people have and offer my concept.
My watch is a Zgpax smartwatch phone with 240 X 240 pixels. The idea could be adapted to other sizes.
I think the following are basic requirements:
1. Keys must be large enough to use easily.
2. You must be able to see what you type.
3. User configurable. Full configurability is probably a luxury but desirable. To keep the keyboard App as small as possible a separate configuration App could be used.

My idea is to use a 5X5 grid of “keys” which take up the whole screen area but have a transparent background.

Obviously we cannot fit 26 keys in a 5X5 grid so I suggest putting those less commonly used onto a 'numeric' keyboard and 'swiping' to that when they are required. Multiple keyboards can be used and called up depending on the 'swipe' direction e.g. UP to toggle case, RIGHT for numbers etc. Left for Symbols and left from Symbols for lesser symbols. 3. The background will be a transparent grey and the default colour of the symbols on the keys will be white.

The colour of the key symbols will be user definable to contrast with the text colour of whatever field is being filled. In addition the size of the key symbols should be adjustable within the constraints of key size and readability.

I think that on each 'keyboard' we could accommodate a destructive and non-destructive back key, a non-destructive forward key, a space key and a 'Return' or 'Enter' key. This would result in the letters a to t, being on the main keyboard with u to z being on the numeric keyboard. Personally I would swap J and U, as U is used more frequently than J and they have a similar shape to remind the user.

The numeric keyboard should consist of the digits 0 to 9 together with the keys excluded from the main keyboard (by default u to z). This leaves 9 keys for the user to define. Suggested defaults are , ' “ @ - x Enter and the user's national currency symbol. Note that Enter is only generally used once per field and often follows '.' so can be placed here.

A further Symbol keyboard can contain up to 25 symbols including enter. These symbols should be those most commonly used and should include Enter. Some keys may – and probably should – duplicate the functions of those on the other keyboard screens.

A further screen keyboard containing less common symbols should be provided. Again, Enter and common duplicates should be included.

If desired, a further screen of macros and / or emoticons could be provided. The macro keys could be used to enter common data such as your email addresses, your name, home address and commonly used web addresses.

RUNNING, BIKING, SWIMMING : MOTO 360 or SONY SMARTWATCH 3 ?

Hi everybody,

I would like to buy a smartwatch to prepare a marathon. First, I looked to sport watches but I found them very expensive. Moreover, I want to use this device as a casual gadget.
I use ENDOMONDO for more than one year on Android and i love this app. Moreover, and it's a good news, ENDOMONDO is available on Android Wear.

I'm looking for a smartwatch that allows me to go running, biking, swimming (not necessary), walking,... without my phone. I will synchronize my data using bluetooth when i will be back at home. Also, I don't want to spend more than 200$ in this smartwatch.

I really like the design of the MOTO 360, its price and its native compatibility to ENDOMONDO. However, MOTO 360 doesn't integrate a GPS chipset. In the other hand, SONY SMARTWATCH 3 has a GPS chipset inside but the design isn't as well as the MOTO 360 for a similar price.

Which one can you advice me ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

No.1 Watch - New circular Smartwatch by No.1

I recently found a new smartwatch on the NO.1 website which I did not see listed on any shop yet, it's called simply No.1 Watch. It pretty much looks like the No.1 Sun S2 in a more subtle body, but without the heart rate sensor. Additionaly they added a SIM slot and MicroSD slot to it instead. Here's a little overview:

(Source: http://en.001phone.cn/product-no-1-watch-102.html)

According to a NO.1 employee the watch should be released middle of this month already. Curious if they can hold up to their plans.

Strap like Smartwatch 3 for normal watches

Hello, I tried a Sony Smartwatch 3 and I was impressed by the quality of the strap. It is the black plastic strap. I really like how it feels in my skin.

Anyway, I didn't like android wear, so I went back to my Pebble. But I wonder, do you guys know any universal strap for normal watches like the sony smartwatch? I'm talking about material and quality. I know the strap is only for somy smartwatches, but I want to know if any other manufacturer makes similar straps.

Thanks.
