After updating to 5.1.1, phone is unresponsive from time to time

Hi Guys,

I recently updated to 5.1.1 and I have nothing but problems. The phone is rooted. From time to time, I would have to do a soft reset (volume down + power) to turn the phone back on.

I have tried resetting the phone and clearing the cache but the problem persists. Any suggestions would be great!

[HELP] unable to boot in custom recovery or updating CM

My brand new OPO came with CM 12.0-YNG1TAS2XK.

Unlocking bootloader went fine, when flashing TWRP it booted in stock recovery, i tried going in recovery after flashing it, but it booted in CM.
Flashing CM nightlies via cm recovery gives me error, so i am stuck with this version.

Any ideas?

How to stop google Play Store from updating my to phone app

My Nvidia Shield Android TV 500GB is unlock and rooted. I did have the full custom Android 1.8 rom installed and went back to stock but left bootlocker unlock and rooted. Now my box is updating the Google Play Store app the the latest version which is for the phone.

Can someone help me to stop it from updating?

So I have few questions when it comes to updating my ASUS Zenfone 2 firmware.
- How to update my Zenfone 2 ?
- Do I need to update from version to another without skipping any? Or I could directly update to the latest one?
- Would the update improve my battery life? Because it drains really fast.
- How to fix the problem in ADB "Cannot read file.zip" ?

Sony smartwatch 3 not updating or syncing

Yesterday I got my first android wear smartwatch which is the sony smartwatch 3 from amazon but it is on software version 4.4W and the build number is "tetra-userdebug 4.4W KGW29E 1023 test-keys" and t says its model is "tetra". THe problem is that it doesnt detect any updates (I am pretty certain that lollipop is out for this) and that the android wear app does detect the watch faces i have installed.

problem in factory reset after updating yureka to cm12

Hello friend I updated my yureka to cm 12 two months ago I facing a problem in my phone when I going to do a factory reset it done successfully but after when my Yureka phone is starting it shows android is upgrading in first boot. every time when I do a factory reset in first boot it shows android is upgrading. How long can I go without updating from 5.0.2

Hello xda forum. I currently have a samsung galaxy s6 that has been rooted. I actually tripped Knox in the process by using TWRP. and I was wondering when do I have to update before my apps stop working because of my android version being too low? I was reading online that Android 6.0 marshmallow was going to be released in the fall so I'm wondering if I'm going to have to update to that when it comes out. And how do I update when I'm rooted on 5.0.2 I can't use an OTA update because I tried going into the settings and I tried doing a software update in there but its not letting me so how am I supposed to update my phone to marshmallow 6.0? I'm from Canada and our cell phone plans last two years so if I can go without updating for two years I will be happy. can somebody please reply saying what I should do?

[QUESTION] Updating your Zenfone 2

Hello, I have just received my Zenfone 2 today. I bought it from a Chinese website. It comes with 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM. It has all the Google Services installed even when you try to reset it they are still installed. Everything is working fine, except when I try to disable an application the phone reboots after I click "OK" and the application doesn't actually disable, that's the issue I'm having at the moment. But for the question, I was wondering how could I update my phone? Is there anyway to update it automaticly or do I have to upgrade it using USB Cable. If so, wich version (CN or WW) that I should install when Updating? Because when I asked the website they said it is CN and when I got to About device and go to build number it says WW.

[Q] Night clock not updating time

Hi,

I deleted a bunch of bloatware, and found that the night clock won't update time automatically. It always shows the time when I locked the phone. It will update the time when I press the button to wake up the screen and press the power button again to go to night clock mode. Does anyone know what the issue is? Thanks!

Updating 5.0.2 to 5.1.1?

Phone is rooted 5.0.2 with twrp.. I can't flash back to stock with smart switch, it gets stuck at 69%.. I've tried odin but that is freezing on my computer.. How can I go about updating to 5.1.1? It's been a while since I've been gone from the android community

Need help in updating MI 4 LTE

I just bought this phone and i am trying to update this phone to latest firmware which is V6 but i can't. I am unable to install google apps on it. I tried connecting it to MI PC Suite to update but that doesn't even detect my phone. Strange thing is i can transfer data through USB mode but MI PC Suite is unable to detect my phone. I tried it on two different computers and also tried it with different usb cables but still the same problem. It properly installs USB drivers but undetectable for Pc Suite. I tried couple of articles to install google apps but after installation when i open google play store it gives me error of no network connection. Please help me. here is my phone info:-

Widgets not updating while using Nova Launcher

For quite some time I've been using Nova Launcher (Prime) to my full satisfaction.
Unfortunately, today I noticed that the widgets on my homescreen have ceased to update properly. The widgets affected are Zooper Widget and Simple RSS Widget. The former updates extremely slowly and the latter refuses to update at all.
Now, of course I contacted the developers of those apps first but a quick search on Google informed me that the problem seems to lie within the launcher in use. So, I tried clearing Nova Launcher's cache and restarting the launcher, but unfortunately to no avail. The widgets update only once after but cease to update subsequently.

Anybody here got any suggestions? I'm at a loss. :(

Updating OS on rooted SMP600

Hi, so I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition and quite a while ago, I rooted it on Android 4.3, so it's stuck there. I'd like to upgrade to at least 4.4.2, but because I tripped the Knox trigger (I think?) I can't updates even with attempting an unroot. I've spent hours searching for a solution, but the best option I can find is the to find the OS I want and try flashing it? Is this correct and if so is there a free program I can use to do it? (Odin's on play store)

My device is running on 2.19.40.22 & it is rooted.
I am trying to update the firmware to latest update which is 2.20.40.59.
I tried 2 methods, viz:
1. Copying update file in internal memory & restarting the device.
2. Using ADB sideload.

Result
While trying to update from internal memory, it shows installing system update for some time & than shows "Error" with a dead android bot(same which is displayed when entering recovery mode).
While updating using sideload method, it transfers the file successfully to the device & when it tries to install, it says file is not proper.
Please help someone.

Asus Fonepad 7 ME372CG doesn't restart while updating, reset not possible?

Hey,

i am new to this forum. I have a weird issue with my Asus Fonepad 7 ME372CG while updating. The Device is NOT rooted or flashed in any way.

When updating the Fonepad shuts down and is supposed to restart. The Problem is, the Fonepad does not start again and cant be turned on again for several hours. If you hold the Power button the device vibrates and the screens flashes for a millisecond, but thats all.
After some hours the Fonepad will eventually start again, but the update is not installed.
The same happens when I tried to reset the Fonepad in "Droid Boot" modus.

Any suggestions how i can fix the problem. I just want to have the device running normally again, or with stock android.
