Trying to root a newer AT&T Galaxy Note 3 (sm-n900a)

Greetings, XDA!

My name is Andrew and I am attempting to root my newly aquired Galaxy Note 3 to no avail. I have tried Odin methods, following each step to the letter only to be greeted by a FAIL everytime I click start. I have even tried Towelroot, modifying the modstrings that have been so graciously provided by your posters on this site. Yet, nothing. I really want to root this device and get rid of the AT&T crapware that's bloating my device. I had a AT&T Galaxy S3 before this that I had zero issue rooting using the Odin method. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank you

HTC one sprint WiFi Bluetooth FM Radio not working [Keep trying to turn on]

The problem is that the WiFi/bt/radio keep trying to turn on and after a long time (in the settings menu, where the buttons for on/off WiFi are located) it says error.

I am located in Ukraine, outside US. I will describe the problem by events in order.

1. Previously WIfi/BT/Radio were all working fine on Kitkat.

2. I Updated my Htc one M7 sprint via fastboot to Android 5.0.2, the official rom update from HTC US website.

3. After update, on the first boot the hands free activation came up. Since I am using a gsm sim, it could not proceed further with the message “Device cannot be activated on a GSM, only On CDMA”

4. I searched for solutions on xda, googled it, with no solutions in sight. Seems like the problem is not common. Anyways, found some loosely related posts on xda that guided,
a) Try to flash the radio with radio flashables. But the solution was not reliable, so i have not yet tried it.
b) That I should delete htcsetupwizar.apk and other sprint related apps from TWRP. Which I did before flashing ViperOne, but it did not work, although I could get into the phone menu but the phone kept rebooting if left untouched, or when power button on the top was tapped.

So currently, my device is running ViperOne 9.0.0, Hboot version 1.61, Radio version 1.01.20.1225, OS version 6.23.651.7, OpenDsp ver 35.120.274.0718
With S-ON

So should I flash the radio from TWRP ? Or consider downgrading the OS ?
Please help. Would be grateful.

Trying to choose a model

I've recently been looking for a good phone to join my parent's AT&T family plan. I've tried out the Note 4 and really love it, I just don't like the Samsung bloat. I want to buy a phone in about a month, and my budget is around 0. I searched on eBay for an unlocked Note 4 and found that there a lot of listings for AT&T unlocked phones at 0. At first, I though this would be great. It's not expensive, it's a great phone, etc. But then I looked at the XDA Developers forum and found a mess of different versions. After looking around, I'm pretty disappointed to find that the N910A is not rootable, which is a pretty big deal for me. I can deal with Samsung bloat if I can use a root disabler or something. But if it's not even rootable...

Anyway, I just want to ask a few questions regarding the Note 4 models.

1) Is the AT&T Version really not rootable? Is it just more difficult? (if yes, does anyone know why not?)
2) Would the T-Mobile version (N910T) work if I could find a nice unlocked one on eBay?
3) Will the pre-installed ROM update to Android M when it's available?

Trying to install new Korean build

Trying to go back to kitkat based roms

Ive flashed the d801 20g bootstack before i flash the rom and everytime i do at the end of flash it says loki failed. What does that mean what do i need to do? Please help

[Help] G900A unable to flash with ODIN trying to bring phone to stock - was towelroot

Hi,

I am trying to unroot my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A. I went ahead and did unroot via SU, then reboot. I've done a reset/wipe via recovery mode which was successful this was all after attempting to flash to stock ROM and it kept failing. I was hoping unrooting and wiping data and cache would help but none has I keep running into the same problem in ODIN see below:

I have tried multiple Samsung branded USB cords in multiple USB ports (even on multiple computers) all with the same issue. I went ahead and downloaded the G900A PIT file and tried to install that with ODIN but that failed as well. I have debug mode enabled it didn't change anything. I have also used multiple versions of ODIN both v3-1.85 and v3-3.07 both produce same error.

the rom I'm trying to flash to is: G900AUCU1ANCE_G900AATT1ANCE_G900AUCU1ANCE_HOME.tar .md5 the PIT I ended up trying was SM-G900A_pit.pit.

This phone was originally rooted with towelroot I think at one point I put a ROM on the phone after an update came out that took root away. That rom allowed me to re-root with towelroot and I ended up freezing a ton of the apps and the autoupdate so it wouldn't ever happen again.

Been getting strange messages while trying to unlock bootloader

I've been following the official Sony method to unlock the bootloader, you can see that procedure here. I have downloaded and installed the SDK Manager, then replaced the fastboot driver for Sony phones like they say, then I can also successfully put my phone into fastboot and my computer also recognizes it as "S1Boot Fastboot" but when I try to update the driver to point it to use the driver supplied to the SDK, I get this message when trying to install it (in the driver error.png). I'm not sure if it's trying to say that it won't work or something. So I proceeded to the command prompt stage (that's in cmd1.png) and entered fastboot. That worked. Then I entered fastboot devices and get a new empty line, whereas I'm supposed to get some text returned (see cmd2.png). Trying to enter the command to unlock bootloader after that doesn't seem to be doing anything (see cmd3.png).

So, anybody have any suggestions?

Trying to recover data after XT1096 5.1 black screen bug

So I encountered this bug about 2 days ago. It's basically a bug that results in an un-responsive black screen for no apparent reason. I tried all the standard support protocols to save my data (i.e. copy files to pc via USB, and using Cellebrite to pull them off) but without MTP or USB Debugging enabled none of these options worked. Both Verizon and Motorolla tech support advised me to factory reset my phone. However being that a reset will wipe all my data, I've refused to go down that path (yet). So after doing some of my own research I came up with the following ideas, which so far have not been successful.

Idea 1 - use adb to sideload an OTA update with a fresh image that will hopefully resolve the black screen bug but not wipe my data. I followed this thread with partial luck. I got about 47% through the sideload process before it crashed complaining about an invalid full image check

Idea 2 - use fastboot to flash all the images except user data (again with the hopes of resolving the black screen bug without losing data) - But I can't seem to find a compatible set of stock images that will play nicely with my unrooted and locked bootloader phone.

Idea 3 - root my phone, load a custom rom (with no black screen bug) and preserve my user data - unfortunately mofo doesn't support an XT1096 root since I've already accepted the 5.1 OTA.

So my question are:
1 - Are there a set of verizon stock digitally signed images anywhere out there that will work with my XT1096 with 5.1 already installed?
if not
2 - Is there any way to root my phone or unlock the bootloader so that I can accept non-factory images without the use of Mofo?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Trying to Push file / rom to my Sprint G4!

im stuck int the Security Error Boot screen . i can get into download and recovery mode but i can't get the rom back to my phone. I'm told its not bricked BUT the phone only shows the LG Logo and Security Error. ive been on my computer for 5 hours trying my best to solve this by myself through reading and watching videos to NO Avail. Phone wont boot after trying to get back to stock

Hi there,

obviously I did something wrong, cause now my phone wont boot up. It is stuck on the HTC logo, and stays there for hours after hours. I can get into download mode etc, tried factory reset, but to no avail.
My phone is S-Off, but it is not recognized by adb anymore, so I cant get it to install TWRP.
My OS is 1.40.161.8 and my CID is VODAPE17

Any help would be appreciated.

Having a real hard time trying NOT to default APPS

Samsung has removed the option to use an app "just once" or " always" when there are more choice to run a program. .
Example: certain email links I would like to open with chrome instead of Internet.
Or: click to call defaults to phone all the time, but sometimes I have to use my viop app, Ringcentral.
Once an app has been selected it becomes default.
Any alternatives I can try?

Rooted Phone Won't Turn on after trying to update and Recovery Won't Work!

My phone won't turn on and is stuck on loading screen after trying to download an Asus update.
I didn't mean to install the update as i knew a problem would occur. I have the 2.3ghz version of the phone with 64gb of storage with Lollipop.
When i try to go into recovery it says it is installing update for a couple seconds then it gives an error so i can't get into that.
Can someone help me and give detailed instructions on what to flash and how to flash something to my phone via ADB or something?.. The phone is also rooted obviously ;)
I gave as much information as i can think of right now.
I greatly appreciate any help. I have looked at some threads but I don't know how or what to flash and if it even relates to my phone at all.

Trying to get back to the Tmobile based rom. Any help?

So, here's my dilemma. I decided to flash the MaximusHD Rom (WWE based rom). Its smooth but certain things are a bug mentally. Id like to Go back to the US Tmobile based rom and get the OTA update. Im Not S-OFF and dont plan on paying to do so. I have a backup, but its a twrp backup, so it wont allow me to install the OTA. What are my options? Does anyone have a 2.7.531.6 TWRP Backup or a rom i can flash?

Trying to root with Kingroot after latest update 5.1.1

updated to get RMA ( confirmed Y01) battery. tried rooting it using kingsroot v4 .5.0.722 ( read somewhere that it works). Launched apk on tablet it said to try rooting it did so restarted and froze on logo screen. Turned off and on again still stuck. Turned off and now it won't turn on, Have to wait 20 minutes then it optimizes my apps. I have windows 10 when I try to connect I get the sound that it's connected but it doesn't show up on my PC. It gets to 20% when it shutdown and then it just hangs on the Nvidia logo. Once I get it to Kingsroot it said root failed and asks to try again.

I was hoping Logitech would have come out with one like they did for my Samsung 10.1 tablet. I don't want to pay 0+ like the Google version and I cannot seem to find anything out there.

Trying to transfer data to SD

When the notification comes up that I'm 75% full it offers me to transfer all data to the SD card. I've tried several times to move all the app data possible to the SD card (as I have about 20gb free on it) but it gets stuck on about 6% I've left this for a day but still gets no further. Any way of sorting this out? I'd like to just free up some of the internal memory space. Everything else on the tablet is on the SD card, so just apps remain.
