Issue installing CyanogenMod.

Hey guys. As the title suggests I had an issue installing CyanogenMod on my Xperia Z. Followed the step instructions for Install_CM_for_yuga page. Got to step 8 then nothing. Couldn't get adb to see my phone. I decided to retreat and use Sony's Emma prog. to fix my phone. Anyone know where I went wrong here ? I followed it step by step. First time doing this I might add so i've little-no experience with this. Thanks for any help given :)

Gapps not Installing

Hi,
I installed custom rom nAOSProm_b26 with TWRP 2.8.5 on my Xperia S LT26i and now am having a problem.
The problem is that its not showing Play Store. I searched and found maybe its due to Gapps. I tried many packages of Gapps.zip but not successful. Also its saying the kernel does not have support SELINUX in start.
Please Help me in this regard will be very thankful as am new to this field and don't know much about this :(

Can I stop my phone automatically installing apps?

Got a no mark S4 clone on 4.2, perfectly happy with it, got CWM and a new rom on it, its fine.
I have exposed and boot manager and once a day it has its icon telling me 'google play services' has auto installed, and every other day an app called 'recents' with a sort of C:\ terminal icon. Now, neither of these I want, I've deleted them so, SO many times, selected 'dont auto update' and also 'dont notify' from within google play, set my firewall to block anything google when on 4g etc...
Is there ANY way to stop it installing stuff I dont need?

How To Enable OTG Without Installing An App In The Phone

Hi,
I broke the screen of my phone, and it is not responsive. Still I can see things and the phone is working. So to access the phone, I bought an OTG cable and connected an USB mouse to it. But it is not working (the mouse is not powering up). As I can not access my phone to install any apps or even if I install an app from browser, I can not open it. So is there a way to install any package or something which can enable the OTG support? My phone is rooted and I can access recovery mode.

Installing ROMS & Kernels

Dear Android users,

I am new to the whole rooting procedure and have a few questions regarding installing new roms and kernels.

1. Is it harmful to install new roms one after the other? For example, I just installed a new rom and after one hour of experimenting with it I wanted to try out a different rom so I just re-flashed my device. How often can you flash your device without the risk of bricking it or something else going wrong during the process? I know that in order to find the perfect rom for yourself one must flash their devices a several times until they have found what they want but suppose if i were to install 10 different roms in an entire day, would that be harmful to the device or is it fine as long as you know what you are doing and you are installing it properly and carefully ?

2. Suppose if a certain rom was installed with a preferred kernel of your choice and during the rom installation you did not know exactly what features to install or remove e.g. with Aroma installer or any other kind and then once the installation was complete and you were using the new rom you felt that you wanted to go back and install a few more things which you didn't earlier. Will you then have to Install the rom all over again or do you have the option to modify the rom while its installed?

Installing Stock recovery

A couple of days ago, I rooted my zenfone 2 (ZE551ML, 2gb variant,1.83 ghz) deleted some system apps.

Today I recieved an update (OTA), I unrooted my phone. Downloaded the OTA but my zenfone 2 was not able to apply it, shows an error Android bot at recovery screen. I think its because I deleted the system bloatware .

Now I want to install stock firmware on my phone. I will create backup of apps, No problem.
So here is what I gonna do:
I will download the latest firmware ( Version WW_2.20.40.59) from link below:

Only LTE Carriers Sim detecting after installing custom rom

I installed cutom rom CM12.1 on xperia z then after some days I change my lte sim with 3g sim but my cell dont detect it. only 4g sim detecting now IS there Sim card locked issu or other ...plz help me

HELP installing stock firmware on my SM-G900a

A little back information to clear up how this started; a friend of mine has some very serious mental health issues and over factory reset his SM-G900A because he is paranoid someone will get his phone and steal his information. Its not stolen or found. The reactivation lock was triggered and hes so overly medicated he cant figure out what his Samsung account information is to recover it. He claims to have sent it back to Samsung and they couldn't recover it. I'm new to modding androids but have had a lot of success tweaking my SGH-I537.

I tried to reinstall the stock firmware to get around the reactivation lock. When i checked the properties of the phone on my pc it said it was running G900AUCU4BOF3 firmware. But a google search told me that the OF3 was a OTA to downgrade it to NCE. Several attempts with Odin "failed" every time and brought me rite back to the reactivation lock. Until the last attempt with my third different set of NCE files ended with a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" warning on boot up. But Kies or Smart Switch wont connect to the device now.

Can someone help me please?

Facebook not installing

Using Cm-12.1-20150816 and experienced same under 20150806

Installing Facebook through google play store quickly gets to 97% before slowly very slowly never finishing.

Was running fine under stock rom. Also peculiar is x-plore no nolonger reliably connects to my smb share.

As is it just me or is hwvideo less supported than with stock?

Installing a different country Stock ROM

I live somewhere in the middle east, would it be problematic if I flashed a different countries ROM in my GT-I9300I ? Also if possible what are the side effects of flashing a diff country ROM ?

S4 boots with Blank Screen after root and installing ROM

Hi,

Couple of days back I did rooted my ATT S4 using KingsRoot, After boot I did install Rom Tool Box Pro.
I did downloaded Google Play Edition from ROM section,
I did following steps to install
1. use Rom Tool Box to reboot,
2 Wipe chache and Data
3. Use Rom from SD Card to install.
I got error saying Foot not verified, I did good thought something wrong and used another rom from
[ROM][Official][5.1.x] CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightlies for the AT&T Galaxy S4 (jflteatt)
Now I got same error but my Phone is not booting to previous state.

I am on debug mode I get
could not do normal boot
COIN MODE

Please suggest what to do next

Help installing Cyanogenmod on L3II E430

Hi,

I'm completely new to android but I have programming experience and think I can find my way around with a good guide.

I'd like to run cyanogenmod on the LG L3 II e430. I'm running a Mac as a computer. I could use Windows in a virtual machine but would prefer methods using OSX or no computer at all.

What steps will I have to do to achieve my goal? Can somebody give me a step-by-step guide or point me in the right direction?

Deleting bloatware before installing custom rom?

So I just want to understand things better.

I was rooted and froze bloatware and some services I didn't need with titanium. When I updated and lost root, bloatware remained frozen with no option to enable (greyed out). I've since flashed stock rom and am about to reroot then try a custom rom I've read about for great battery life. How will those frozen bloatware/services affect my custom rom? Should I still enjoy the great battery life benefits and improved performance? FWIW, the rom is xtresolite that I want to try on my gs5.

Help with installing MOAR 6.2 ROM

First, I have to apologize for being more or less a noob. I have been away from Android for a few years and just returned with a Galaxy S5. I used to flash ROMs all the time but it has been awhile and I have not had a Samsung before.
I was running stock Lollipop, then I rooted and installed phillZ CWM recovery. I then downloaded MOAR 6.2 and attempted to flash it from recovery, but keep getting errors, it says something about the signature and then it fails and reboots. I tried downloading it several times from both the main source and the mirror, and I did check the MD5. It is on the root of my SD card. So what am I doing wrong? Hopefully someone can help me get back into my Android ROM flashing!
