New Note Edge user: Low App resolution

Hey guys, just got my Note Edge. I do like it for the most part.

However I have realized that some apps just don't look right. Facebook for example just looks like it was designed for a lower res screen which makes it kinda blocky and big.
I tried reducing font size but that didnt help anything.

Also my Edge came with Lollipop. I have noticed its kinda laggy (despite all the horsepower). Is this normal for the phone or is it a 5.0.1 problem. For those of you on KitKat, should I downgrade? I don't know what the Edge acts like on 4.4.4

Are there any features you lost by going from 4.4.4 to 5.0 I only know of the camera button being on the window instead of edge screen.
Also the low light camera still sucks lol. My Note 2 took better low light pics. And can you only have 4 edge panels in order for music apps to use the edge panel? When i add more panels, Power amp stops showing up.

Hello everybody,

I have a rooted ASUS Zenfone 5 (A501CG), Android 5.0 Lollipop. After my last upgrade (OTA, by the way) I had to perform a factory reset for personal reasons. Since then, I cannot input my APN settings manually. I get the following message: "APN settings are not available for this user". Googling the internetz and searching through these very forums came to no avail. I tried a new factory reset; then, I recursively changed ownership and permissions for /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony (acording to a thread at StackExchange, these files should belong to user radio and group radio, with chmod of at least 660). I also chow'd/chmodded /config/telephony, just in case... Nothing has worked and I still get the same message, rendering my 3G/HSPA+ services unreachable.

I hope somebody has a solution for this!

Note edge user. Note 5 or edge+?

I now own a note edge and wanna go pick up one of these beauties but I'm torn between the two. I use my apps edge everyday on this phone but it's also not limited to 5-6 apps like the edge+, I also use many of the other edge panels on my note especially bookmarks, data usage, and calender bit the edge+ has none of these to my knowledge. But then again I've always purchased the note line of phones for the specs and screen size not so much the spen which rarely gets used no matter how many features they pack into it. I do have my concerns about two exposed edges just like I was about one on my note edge cause no matter how good the case you really can't protect it. Any insight on the two from someone else who is having a hard time deciding between the two or why you picked which one and why?

user interface stopped

Phone home screen or the so-called user interface stopped .. closed the phone and then re-run and still the same problem stops the user interface .. Is there a solution?
The problem that you've got to add many of the additions XPOSED .. Knowing that xposed installation was successful

How to increase user storage space in Mi4i?

Recently I was flashing PAC rom. To do that In recovery (TWRP) I wiped every thing. All the options in Advance Wipe in recovey except USB OTG. When I checked the available space, it was showing 12 GB available. Without flashing the ROM. :(
Mi4i is a device with 16 gb storage. So, there must be reserved space for ROM to install.
AOSP rom will never use 4 GB of space, So from that 4 GB reserved space, there might be 2 GB of space still available.

Is it possible to resize the partition table and increase the usable space?? :confused:

Any help will be useful?

Boost User w/ Data Question

Has anybody fgigured out a way to configure a 5.1.1 ROM to work with LTE data properly?
I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 (720)? and Im on Boost, stock ROMS work perfectly. No issues.. as if this phone was a Boost branded phone. But as soon as i flash a rom like CM12.1 or Dirty Unicorns or Exodus, data hardly orks.. I trie everything I could find searching and one thign worked.. last night.. i woke up this morning and it was gone. no data not even 3g. I didnyt even shut off my phone or anything,.. any advice please? Thank you..

User profile notifications

I have two user profile on my device one is personal and the other is for work. Is there a way to get notified when I am on personal profile of emails, calendar events from my work profile instead of having to switch manually?

Question from a first time Android user

Hey guys, just got my new Asus ZenFone 2 today. I didnt think this was for Q&A because it seems like more of a question of opinion. But I've tried both the native and Chrome browser and the native one seems to work quickly and efficiently, memory wise. I know a lot of people prefer Chrome, but aside from a few tweaks and sync ability, I don't see much of a reason to not use the native browser. Ring in with your opinions and educate the newbie. What do you prefer and why? Btw, loving Android so far. :)

Upgrade to 5.1.1, but keep root AND user data

Hey guys,

quick question. I have a 5.0.2 z3c rooted with dual recovery and would like to upgrade to 5.1.1.

However, I don't want to lose neither root access nor my personal data. How to correctly dirty-flash a prerooted flashable.zip from recovery?

Also when creating the prerooted flashable.zip with PFRCreator, do I need to use the same Recovery package as I have installed or can I upgrade the Recovery on the go?

I have seen meany forums ignore this one please help.

Device is T-mobile note 4
Rooted - I am using cyanogen mod - (trltexx) trltetmo does not work for my device.
( cm-12.1-20150808-NIGHTLY-trltexx.zip )
I get an MD5 error? but it installs anyway
There is no cellular service.

Everything works except my sim card. It wont detect it and my APN settings page says.
"APN settings are not available for this user"

Things I tried repeatedly as suggested by google searches
I tried each one with a clean rom install

1. - manually input APN settings (it wont save them)
2. - Reboot 5 times
3. - Remove the sim card before first boot
4. - Use wifi first to "warm up network"
5.- Wait 3 days for cellular tower to send me signal
6. - Wait 5 min
7. - Try a different rom (same problem with apn settings)
8. - let phone cool down with full battery
9. - Dial *#*#4636#*#* turn off radio?
10. - cry

I remember back when I had an HTC evo 4G everything was so simple...
I installed ROMs like crazy with no errors.

can anyone help me get my cellular service working?

Calculation from user input

I work at a casting company & sometimes have to calculate weights. I am building a simple app in android studio to do this & was hoping someone could help as im struggling. I have 3 user inputs set, but I want to take those inputs & run them through a calculation & the have the result displayed at the end. I want to set a button so when I have the 3 imputs & can click go, & the result gets displayed. This is my code at present.

I think im going wrong on the edit text bit but I have searched around & tried taking bits out of code for a calculator, but I need to do a little more than 10*5 etc when working a weight of a casting out so need to take the input & run it through a formula.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need help from a rooted user settingsdb

Hi, i have just bought the g4 saturday and am not yet rooted, unfortunately i have the problem that tasker the normal way can not change display timeout, which is kind of annoying to me, so i thought id do it through the setzings binary, but i need to know the exact name and path of the display timeout inside the settings.db. so if someone with a rooted device and an sqlite editor could check that for me id be very pleased!

2nd user authentication error!

Hi All,

I have the wi-fi only Z4 Tablet and my wife uses it with a second user account however she is constantly asked to Authenticate and then taken to a Google login screen.

Once the email details are correctly inputted it accepts it in Google but the authentication app fails so becomes unusable which is a joke.

Is this an Android think or Sony feature?

TWRP blowing away OS - user error?

For some TWRP is wiping my OS each time I install. Fortunately I can install the factory image, but sure what I'm doing wrong.
When I enter TWRP and try to install any files the Internal Storage is 0 MB
