No notifications and "Unfortunately Zenwatch manager has stopped"

After a phone reboot this morning I was unable to reconnect my Galaxy S4 (running Lollipop) to my Zenwatch. I tried rebooting both the watch and the phone but no luck, so eventually had to factory reset the watch. Now the Android Wear app says it's connected to the watch (I can check the battery level of the watch), but notifications aren't working. When I use the "Try out watch notifications" option in the Android Wear app I get nothing on the watch.

I also find that when I try to select certain watch faces (e.g. Explorer) it fails with a message which says "Unfortunately Zenwatch manager has stopped". I've uninstalled and re-installed the Zenwatch Manager app, but during the installation process it created a notification saying "Android Wear seems to have a problem in pushi..." (that's all I can see of the message). After rebooting the phone and launching the Zenwatch Manager app again it now tells me that Android Wear is still pushing the Zenwatch Manager config to the watch (some 30 minutes after I re-installed Zenwatch Manager on the phone).

All in all it's a bit of a bloody mess. Can anyone suggest a clean start procedure that will get me back up and running?

Disable screen on for notifications?

i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to disable the screen on whenever you receive a notification?
I just want the sound and the LED to blink, not for my screen to turn on/off.

Apps Able To Change "Show Notifications" Setting?

So I can't remember if this used to happen on my stock GS4 since I've been running CM for so long, but on my GS5, certain apps are able to override the "Show notifications" checkbox in Settings/Applications! I feel like I'm going crazy since I'm constantly having to uncheck the notifications box. I've set the apps to not Auto Update to make sure it wasn't part of an app update installation process, but that made no difference.

The main offenders that I have installed on my phone are Plants vs. Zombies 2 and theCHIVE. PVZ2 notifications are sooo annoying when my plants sprout, and then frankly, I only want to Chive on when I choose to. Not gonna buy clothing.

Does anyone else get these issues on the GS5?

I have been rooted for so long I don't know if this has something to do with root permissions being exploited, or it's stupid TouchWiz messing up Android. Any suggestions? It's only happening to PVZ2 and theCHIVE as I'm aware. My other apps retain the unchecked state. This is a security breach in my opinion. Settings shouldn't randomly be undone.

This is very similar to my LastPass app fill settings randomly unsetting after a reboot. Ugh I hate TouchWiz with a passion. My Nexus 7 devices (rooted & stock) do not have this issue with the same apps so I'm pointing my finger at Samsung for the moment.

Moto 360 notifications

Hi,
I just keep having weather and maps notifications everytime I connect the phone to watch and I am not able to get rid of those. I have disabled it in wear connect app but they still appear. I have also iPhone connected on watch through BLE, mybe is iPhone that keep sending notifications. How can I disable them on it?

Hi guys,

Totally desperate, I uninstalled the whatsapp on my stock 5.1.1 S6 edge and I installed again.
After that is impossible to disable the heads up notifications, I already disable the option from the whatsapp menu but are still there.
I uninstalled again the whatsapp (I delete the whatsapp folder after uninstall the whatsapp) and I wiped the cache and I installed again and I still have the issue.

I want to avoid a factory reset.

Any Idea.

Notifications & Vibration

Hopefully I'm just missing something, but possibly this is just how the s6 is.

I'm coming from an HTC One m8. One thing I liked is when i put the volume down all the way and onto vibrate, the notifications would all vibrate - and if i brought the volume back up and vibrate turned off they no longer vibrated... seems sort of simple.

But the s6 doesn't appear to be handling them this way. As far as I can tell if I want a notification to vibrate I need to go into every app (twitter, messenger, gmail. exchange email, calendar, etc) and turn on notification vibration there individually, at which time they will vibrate regardless of the volume setting. If they are turned off, then they will not vibrate at all regardless of the "global" vibrate setting.

Is there an easy way to enable vibration on all notifications and then easily turn back off?

Launcher with working Badge Notifications?

I have tried almost everything and can not find a way to get Badge notifications from apps. Launchers and add ons. Messenger, email... nothing.
I'm on 4.6.3. Rooted.
I like Google Now Launcher because widgets work and screen rotation with Xposed GEL.
Anyone get something working?

Not showing notifications properly

Hi,

So I have been using my Asus Zenwatch for quite a while now. At first I was using it with my Samsung Galaxy S5 and it was working just fine. However, after I started using it with my new S6, it's not showing my notifications properly and sometimes the Always On feature is not working as well. Before switching to S6, I did factory reset my watch. It was working just fine with my S5. Can anyone help me?

[Q] Where has my Priority Notifications option gone

OK, I may have done something silly or not and I am not sure if it is related to the latest S/W upgrade or not but today I noticed that I no longer get the options for 'None', 'Priorty' or 'All' on the sound slider (see attached)

It was definitely there after the first lollipop upgrade and it's definitely there on my Nexus 9 so is this part of Sony's modifications or have I done something stupid?

Notifications disappearing (messaging apps)

Hello everybody,


I got a strange problem occuring only in a certain situation. In order to explain better, have a concrete example here:

I write a message in Whatsapp or Threema. Then I lock the phone by closing the flip cover: The screen then shows the clock from "Asus Flip Cover" and turns off after 5 seconds. So far so good. Now: When I get a message, I hear the notification sound. I open the flip cover and... the notification immediately disappears. So sometimes I miss important messanges, just because of this bug.

At first I thought that it is a third party app that is responsible for this strange behaviour. But yesterday I did a reset of the entire phone via the settings app and didn't even use a backup to restore it. The bug reappeared.

Apparently nobody else is encountering this bug, so before sending the phone back I thought that maybe someone has an idea or even solution for me. The phone is the ZE551ML (not rooted or unlocked) and yesterday I also installed the new firmware (.59); the bug was there since I got the phone, but as I said: I thought it is a third party app that is responsible for this behaviour and I had no time to reset it earlier because of exams and stuff... Is there another way to reset the phone? Maybe a better one than the one over the settings app?

User profile notifications

I have two user profile on my device one is personal and the other is for work. Is there a way to get notified when I am on personal profile of emails, calendar events from my work profile instead of having to switch manually?

Seperating the notifications on lock screen

Alright, I have LG G3 D855 rooted with CloudyG3 ROM.
You all know that the lollipop has lock screen notification feature integrated into Android,
But as I see it it has major flaw: if you get more than 1 notification from specific app you'll see:
You have 2 messages
You have 3 messages
And so on.

Is there any way to seperate the notifications to see them individualy (iOS style)?
Mod or edit some system files to stop this nonsense.

Btw - no xposed framework on my system.

Hangouts notifications don't work, won't get new messages when screen off

Hi,

after resetting my phone to factory defaults and doing new installation, I won't get notifications of new Hangouts messages.

They also don't appear as arriving in background, they are only refreshed when I open Hangouts and the converstaion.

I put Hangouts into trusted applications, allowed running on background etc..

I have never had this problem, other notifications like FB Messenger gmail etc work ok.

Also, when i try to open Notifications settings in Hangouts app, I get a force close.

Any idea?

not receiving wear notifications from s6

I have my Galaxy S6 paired to my Lg G watch R and I am not receiving notifications. I am guessing the system is killing the android wear app from running in the background. Is their any way to keep the app running in the background?

Does anyone have issues with notifications?

My texts don't scroll on the status bar, Facebook doesn't show notifications have of the time, and I thought lollipop had banner notifications that show below the status bar, which I noticed snapchat is the only notifications actually doing that.

Muting system notifications?

I constantly get a notification saying "internal storage is 75% full. Tap to transfer data to SD card." Any way to block this without root?

5.1 Priority Notifications are Worse than Moto Assist

This sucks. Moto Assist allowed me to set my sleep time so that someone would have to call me twice from the same number w/in 5 minutes for them to get my phone to ring. That was perfect.

That has apparently been eliminated in 5.1 so that now only priority notifications get through and they get through on the first try if you select your downtime settings. The problem I have with that is that I don't want to "star" any of my family members as they are the worst offenders in calling me when I am sleeping. But I do want them to be able to get through to me in an emergency and what I have instructed them to do is to call twice w/in 5 minutes to get through to me during my sleeping hours if it is an emergency.

Can I use tasker or some other app to get back the Moto Assist option that is now gone from Moto Assist?
