Unrooted but can't check for OTA's

I was rooted earlier on, and had frozen some apps via titanium backup, by doing this I had disabled OTA updates.

I have restored stock firmware (keeping data) by using a KDZ file, but now when I go to software updates in settings, I just see app updates, there is no way to check for OS updates?

Anyway I can re-enable this? I guess doing a full wipe and flash would re-enable it.

Cant unlock bootloader?

I got my LG G4 yesterday and its time to fiddle!

But I have been stopped before I can even begin.

I have the H815 EU model on O2 UK. I checked the "Allow OEM unlock" setting in Developer Options, got into fastboot and then got told by the LG website that my phone is not allowed to be unlocked!

Is that it? End of the line?

Can't set apn settings

So I unlocked my note 3 to be used on cricket and I need to enter the APN setting but I am getting

Hi dudes,

It seems I can't connect adb to my computer ...
when I try "adb devices" there is nothing below the "list of connected devices" ... but in the lower left crner of windows, it says that fastboot is connected ...
is it normal ?
do I have to go into the fastboot protocol menu on my tab ?

FoxFi not working - can't set up VPN

I'm running 5.0.1 BOG5.

On my old Note 4 (can't remember the version details) I was able to run FoxFi no problem.

However, on my new one, I can't set up the VPN.
I click on the Activate Hotspot and I get the "Allow Connection" message.
It has a cancel and an OK option but the OK button doesn't do anything.

Anybody know what's going on?

Why I can't install the system updates (lollipop) on my phone?

I was rooting the phone and I installed the SuperSU. After this process when I click to install the updates, the phone reboot but enter in the recovery move and I am not able to install the updates. Everytime that reboot is entering in the Team Win Recovery Project. If I try to install the zip updates from there it is not possible.

Could you help me?

[HELP] Can't flash TWRP Recovery

I Flash TWRP & CM 12 earlier everything works well...but one day I back to stock ROM which also locked the bootloader. Then I try to unlock the bootloader with earlier unlock code but it giving error like

(bootloader) General unlock failure!
(bootloader) OEM unlock failure

HTC One M8 - I'm on 4.4.3, rooted with S-off and can't update

I've tried various times to update my firmware but always get the HBoot screen or loss of connection between the phone and PC.

Is there a step by step I can use to get to 5.0.1?

So i rooted within 4.4.4, flashed a pre-rooted 5.0.1 stock rom
everything was fine did a backup in recovery aswel (XZRecovery)

But now i wanna go in recovery but it just doesnt boot;
not with power+volume down and not with a app like NDR Utils.

can't make or place calls, but SMS and data is fine

Hi all,

My problem is that my Galaxy S3 (i747M) cannot make or receive phone calls*, but I can send or receive most SMS**, and my LTE data is fine***. I've tested to ensure it's not my account with Rogers, or my SIM card. I took my SIM card and put it in two other phones, and both worked just fine (one Rogers, one Telus). Putting their SIMs into my phone and the same problem as with my own SIM in my phone. I have unlocked my S3 using the 4.2 trick, but I didn't have this problem back then. I'm assuming this isn't causing me issues now.

I used asterisks because each of the above has some additional details:
* I cannot reliably make and receive phone calls. For example, I can try calling the same phone number (home) 10 times, and it may only go out once. From my home phone I can try calling my cell phone 25 times and only get through once. Every time my calls out fail, it either sits at "Dialing..." for 30 seconds before ending in "Call Ended 0:00" or just immediately drops the call without the 30 seconds of "Dialing...".

** Most of the time I can send and receive SMS from any other cell phone. Occasionally a message won't send out even though I have 4/5 signal bars. Resending the message works. Not sure if this is related to my issues with calling.

*** LTE data is fine (using LTE APN). Switching away from LTE to just 4G/H+ and data is a bit spotty. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't. LTE always connects just fine.

I've tried all sorts of flashing and reflashing:
- problem started when I was on S3Rx 4.0, but I never thought much of it because most calls went through fine
- problem got worse when I was on Lollipop (CyanideL), progressively so
- used Odin to flash stock NF2 (downloaded from Sammobile site), was no different than when I was on Lollipop (CyanideL)
- used Kies to flash stock N__ (forgot exactly which one), still no different
- flashed different bootloaders and modems
- while in stock NF2 firmware, went into *#2263# and made sure it was set to Automatic.

So any ideas what problem this is? I just find it extremely odd that calls almost always fail, yet SMS and data aren't a problem. Of course, when my SIM is in another phone (Nexus 5 on Telus, Galaxy S5 on Rogers) I was able to do everything without any problems: calls, SMS, and data.

Thoughts as to what this could be? Is this a hardware issue? If it's software, what could it be? My warranty's out and I'm willing to flash anything or pop the phone open (already have to make sure antenna isn't disco'd).

Can't unlock bootloader - 3.1 / Android 5.1.1

The title says it all! Reading, searching, and experimenting for hours... no dice. Time to ask for help.

I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of my Shield Tablet, but no matter what I do, I can't install the Universal Naked Driver (which I understand to be step #1). I've tried to troubleshoot this to no avail (including turning off driver signature verification, etc.)... Windows 10 refuses to do it, complaining that "Windows was unable to install your Shield Tablet. Windows could no find driver software for your device".

I'm posting this question *here*, because it makes me wonder if something has changed in the last firmware update from Nvidia (I'm running the very latest - LMY48C.35398_567.2193)... so here's my question: has anyone out there tried to root (which requires bootloader unlock) a Shield Tablet with this firmware? If you've been successful, could you point me toward a tutorial I haven't yet read? Thank you!

lg e971 booting error cant connect to phone

i was trying to root my lg e971 but i think i messed things up...now im trying to fix it but it cannot connect to my phone im not sure if usb debugging is on but if not i cannot even turn it on to do so...i was following the unbricks but now im really stuck

I need some help/info on which phone i should upgrade to. Now i know its my decision and people will say i shouldnt be asking such a question, but its more a technical thing.

Im into customising the phone, root, custom roms etc and have no problems with samsungs, so am leaning to the s6.

But i would like to know about LG G4, Sony Xperia Z3 and HTC One M9, or maybe one you can recommend.

I had a HTC M8 and found rooting and customising very difficult, has this been made easier without the very real possibility of bricking.

Never had LG or Sony before so is this as easy as Samsung on these devices or is the S6 the way to go.

Any advice/comments would be appreciated as there are so many options it all gets a bit confusing.

Hello there i have G850F and i can not install roms every time i try i softbrick my phone then i have to restore it
Once i install rom i get stuck on fisrt boot screen (galaxy alpha powerd by android) and it dosent move from there then i have to restore

I do factory reset every time

So I have a P7 at B126. I tried rooting it with kingroot and tried to install TWRP. I got to the part where you have to use fastboot to flash the img and it fails so I gave up. Now I am trying to get into recovery and I can't. It just either goes to a black screen or a Boot failed screen.

Need help! Cant get back to kk base roms

I have been on this D801 TMO LP Extreme v1.0 rom since may. I like the rom its really nice but i want to go back to a kk rom. So ii download the 20g boostack and the OptimusG3 Rom V1.4.1 rom. First i wiped....flashed firmware..then flashed optimus rom...o wss stuck in bootloop. Then i flashed the firmwear...wiped...and flashed optimus rom. At the end of that flash it says something about loki failed or something like that and i was stuck in bootloop again. So i ended up flashing 30b bootstack and extreme rom again...how do i go back to kk? Can i get some help here? What am i doing wrong?

My phone keep restarting and can't charge

My phone is very weird, It's suddenly restart when I receive a phone call. Before that my phone is running out of battery twice (under 5%). After that, it keep shutting down when I do something like turn on the camera or open some apps. It's only stable when I plug the charge cable. And I saw the battery from 5% to 97% after few seconds (really fast). And now it only can turn on about 2 second and going down. I still can access adb and flash mode. I've try flash my phone many time (5.0.2, 4.4.2 even 4.2.2). And it still can stay alive for about 2 seconds. Please help me solve this case. Thank you very much!
