Is there a way to increase the text message limit and multimedia message limit like you could in s5 and note4

Been getting strange messages while trying to unlock bootloader

I've been following the official Sony method to unlock the bootloader, you can see that procedure here. I have downloaded and installed the SDK Manager, then replaced the fastboot driver for Sony phones like they say, then I can also successfully put my phone into fastboot and my computer also recognizes it as "S1Boot Fastboot" but when I try to update the driver to point it to use the driver supplied to the SDK, I get this message when trying to install it (in the driver error.png). I'm not sure if it's trying to say that it won't work or something. So I proceeded to the command prompt stage (that's in cmd1.png) and entered fastboot. That worked. Then I entered fastboot devices and get a new empty line, whereas I'm supposed to get some text returned (see cmd2.png). Trying to enter the command to unlock bootloader after that doesn't seem to be doing anything (see cmd3.png).

So, anybody have any suggestions?

need to disable app crash and Report messages.

Hello Scientists and Developers :))
Everytime an app crashes it gives a message for e.g. "whatsapp crashed" , and an Ok button. When I press Ok button, the play store comes up to report the crash. Sometimes there are two buttons - Ok & Report. The report window comes up anyway even when you do not select Report.
The message comes on top of everything, and press Ok, and cancel the reporting, press back button to exit the report window to reach the main screen, its all annoying. I never report anyway.
How should I disable the Crash error message, as well as Crash report things?

Moto 360 and messages

hi,
I just want to know if anyone when receiving messages are not able to read them completely in case of long ones nor watch images attached.

Cannot set Messages as the default messaging app

I am not able to set massages as the default messaging app. Messages app is not displayed in the More Network > Change Messaging app . I tried accessing the same settings for different places but nothing happens. When I start the messaging app , pressing ok doesnt do anything.

I tried
1. Clearing cache and data
2.Reinstalling the apk file.

I am not able to send messages with the second sim. Hangout and messenger defaults to a particular sim.

messages stopped working

Can someone help me . I use sumsung galaxy tab 4 10.1". I have used it for about 2 months but text messages do not work. Whenever i open it, it closes down and tells me "unfortunately messages has stopped. I have tried updating the tablets software but all in vain. Please help?

Problem receiving text messages while on LTE

I've been having problems receiving text messages while connected to an LTE network. Outgoing messages send just fine and everything else works properly as well. I was able to nail the problem down to LTE when I realized that texts were flooding in while on phone calls. This is because while on a call it switches from the 4G LTE network to the 3G HSPA network. I did some further testing by having people send messages while on LTE (didn't receive them) and then by changing my preferred network type to 3G in the Settings menu. The messages came in only after doing that.

I ditched my '13 Moto X for a One M8 last year because of a similar issue so it seems to be a problem specific to Moto, though it obviously is not a widespread issue. I'm not rooted or anything. I don't have any apps installed that could be messing with it.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Does anybody have any ideas? I turned LTE off a couple weeks ago and it isn't ideal.

Save text and MMS messages

I'm going to do a factory reset tonight due to my battery life sucking. Is there anyway to save text and MMS messages? I usually use mybackup pro but am wanting to not use any sort of back up program and start fresh due to hearing that your battery life might be better that way. So any help? I don't want to use verizon's cloud service.

Verizon Messages and non-VZW Nexus 6

Yesterday I re-bought another 64gb Nexus 6 on Verizon. I've previously used 3 other ones that all ended up returned for one hardware reason or another. (all of them screen related. Ugh.)

Anyway, I've never had a problem using Verizon Messages on any of the phones... until this one.

I've tried 20 times or more to subscribe in the app so I could download all of my old messages, but it always sits for a while then fails to do anything. A couple of times I would receive a text with my Verizon Messages Pin, but the app would never show that it was subscribed.

This morning I logged into my Verizon account, and under features where it shows Integrated Messaging, it shows that this phone number is ineligible.

So I'm not sure what has changed since my last Nexus 6 just a few weeks ago... Verizon just updated the Messages app yesterday, so I tried an older version with no luck.

The phone is currently running the newest "I" build, rooted.

Anyone else having trouble with Verizon Messages or is it something with this device?

Hangouts notifications don't work, won't get new messages when screen off

Hi,

after resetting my phone to factory defaults and doing new installation, I won't get notifications of new Hangouts messages.

They also don't appear as arriving in background, they are only refreshed when I open Hangouts and the converstaion.

I put Hangouts into trusted applications, allowed running on background etc..

I have never had this problem, other notifications like FB Messenger gmail etc work ok.

Also, when i try to open Notifications settings in Hangouts app, I get a force close.

Any idea?

[Q] Way To Send & Receive Text Messages Faster???

I'm on metroPCS which now is basically T-Mobile get great coverage LTE all the time usualy 4 to 5 bars, 2 at the lowest...

But after awhile from a factory reset or clean install sending and receiving starts to take several minutes to hours to happen.

On a Note Edge (T-Mobile branded version running Hyperdrive rom), so I figured I'd ask if there's a way to get sms to constantly stay as speedy as a fresh install.

I use Handcent SMS BTW, don't feel like waiting and holding my breath to see if T-Mobile's RCS Advanced Messaging comes to me.

If I didn't have a good handful of friends who don't use 3rd party messengers and only SMS I wouldn't be asking.

So what else can I do to speed this up, clean rom installs or even dirty, the sms almost sends instantly in a matter of seconds same as with receiving.

If I knew the dialer code to get into IMS Settings I'd mess with it and try updating the number, but IDK it, knew it on the Note 2 and 3 and now I can't find it.

Block Incoming SMS Messages

If you cannot block incoming SMS messages that you do not want because none the programs work with your phone. This is a method Musket Teams developed that seems to work with our newer android phones when all other programs to include Extreme Call Blocker failed. All we really care is that, like turning off a sewer pipe, all the incoming garbage suddenly stopped.

You first MUST have a rooted phone. Once you have rooted your phone:

Go to a torrent site and look for:

Root Call Blocker Pro v2.3.3.11.B38.apk

Once you have these files proceed:

1. We did not install, use or test fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.pro-10083014-1.8.3.14.apk. We thought it might be too old to get around the changes made reference sms messaging on the newer androids. Readers should feel free to test it, as it may work?

2. Install Root Call Blocker Pro v2.3.3.11.B38.apk

Do not run

3. Install Lucky Patcher.apk

4. Now run Root Call Blocker Pro v2.3.3.11.B38.apk(RCB) and start setting it up. After a time you will get a warning:

License could not be verified Press Retry to check again
Click Retry

If the program lets you continue working with the program then continue the setup. Eventually it will refuse you entry.

Open Lucky Patcher
Open Menu of Patches

You can try:

1. Remove License Verification
2. Create Custom Patch
3. Create Modified apk

Almost any selection gives you tfemporary access to the program again. We suggest selecting Create a Custom Patch first. Now try running RCB again. You should be allowed to continue again for a time. Eventually you will be locked out. Just run up Lucky Patcher again to gain re-entry.

We love the silence this program brings our phones - it is like swimming with dolphins - if we had a method of buying this product we would do so and we rarely recommend anything!!!

Messages not being restored through Kies after rom flash from JB TO GB

So i flashed Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Ace 2 (GT I8160), used it for a while and decided to switch back to Ginger Bread.
Before flashing back the stock Ginger Bread rom (1860JPLK2_I860JPLH1), i did a Kies backup of everything. Then i flashed the GB rom and restored the backup i'd made.

Kies puts a green tick next to everythimg (contacts messages, calandar...etc.) and says complete at the end. Phone restarts, everything seems to be there... except messages. It's completely empty. Even though Kies shows that it restored the messages, nothing has be restored.

Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

P.s. Memo is greyed out in Kies so memo is not being restored...any solution there.

[Q] Can't receive picture texts / messages / mms, trying to send one crashes app

So yeah, as of recently I can't receive picture or video texts / messages / mms, trying to send one crashes the Messaging app

I've tried changing my APN to IPv4/6, resetting it default, as well as clearing Messaging cache, rebooted and no change.

I'm on a Nexus 4 Stock running 5.1.1
