[EXPLAINED] S6 Edge (and flat) Ultra Power Saving Mode

Hey guys,

I've seen some threads here complaining about how the UPSM on the S6 and S6 edge are nothing compared to the S5, and I think I might have figured out why the numbers don't add up, but in real testing they prove to be about the same. If you look at where it says time remaining, some variants of the S5 (and note 4 I have noticed) say "Estimated max. standby time" and THOSE results, with a full charge, are showing 9-11 or so days. HOWEVER, the S6 and S6 edge read "Estimated Usage Time". Herein lies the difference; standby time is referring to the amount of time until the phone will die if you aren't using it. So that 9 days might actually be closer to 1-2 days of moderate texting and calling or whatever else you can do in UPSM. With the S6 and edge, it shows USAGE time. On my edge, with a 100% charge, the "Estimated Usage Time" is usually around 1.5 days. That to me, means I could use it for 1.5 days nonstop if I had the brightness down.

Now, I don't like how it doesn't turn the screen black, only grayscale, AND I'm noticing it bumps the brightness up when I activate the mode.
In conclusion, I believe that because of the grayscale vs. black, and brightness bump, that yes, I agree, the S6 doesn't have as good of a UPSM. However, it is still really close to the S5 because that estimate is usage time, not standby time.

Please let me know if you agree with this or have noticed anything similar.
