[Q] Bricked with New Partition system

I bricked One x International endeavor with new BigTwrp for new partitioning layout and installed ROM with new partition support. But it only started rebooting with recovery image showing for second than rebooting again. I installed older TWRP without new partition but its still rebooting and not entering recovery.

I tried to revert it. But when i flashed latest Clockwork recovery and when i choose install zip it gives me message that it cant find /sdcard/

fastboot fives me info that i have 4.18.401.2. Problem is that there is no 4.18.401.2 RUU. Is it safe for me to flash older RUU just to fix things.

cannot unlock bootloader, cache partition probably corrupted

Hello all,

My Nexus 7 (2013) was bricked about a year ago by a google update, like many other. I just got around looking into it now. I'm having some trouble as you may have guessed.

Here's the current state of affairs :
  • Cannot get past the white Google logo

  • Can boot into fastboot

  • fastboot is locked

  • bootloader version is FLO-04.02

  • Can boot into recovery mode

  • factory reset fails on mounting /cache

Here's what I've tried so far, from several sources here and there
  • Download Official Android image and run a flash-all.sh

  • unlock the bootloader with `fastboot oem unlock`

  • factory reset from recovery mode

All of these end up failing because bootloader is locked or because it freezes (most often at some kind of wiping data step).

This is the output of the `.flash-all.sh` command.

Code:

floby $ ./flash-all.sh
sending 'bootloader' (3911 KB)...

Do you have any idea how I can unbrick this ?

Thank you all in advance.

[FIX] [TWRP] [RECOVERY] /system partition not mounting in recovery

I had come across this bug in TWRP recovery where the /system partition was unable to mount.
And i wasn't able to flash any new ROM or even backup current ROM.
Hopefully I had another ROM backed up before and I simply formatted the system and VIOLA! :D the problem was gone.
I posted this for anyone who might get such a problem in the future and doesn't end up cursing themselves.
Its a common bug and very easy to fix. So, Happy Flashing!
This basically work for any partition not mounting error.
Hit thanks if it helped :D

[HELP] HP 7 Plus Recovery Partition

Hello everyone. I managed to get my hands on an HP 7 Plus tablet, not the Slate 7. Here are its specs right here.
I have managed to unlock its bootloader and also root it. Now, I want to flash a custom recovery. As the processor is Allwinner A31, I thought I'd give the CWM recovery built for Onda v972 right here a try. But I wanted to be careful and as there was no way to backup the partitions without a custom recovery, I used this tutorial to create a partition dump. Its a surprising 512MB file whereas the CWM Recovery file from Onda is only 11.1 MB.
Here is the grab from when I did cat /proc/partitions:
Screen Grab

Please tell me what to do? Should I go on and flash the Onda based recovery? Or create my own custom recovery? Help will be appreciated.

Remove partition from ROM?

The Samsung Galaxy Blaze has 1.4Gb of internal memory, which isn't enough. Is there a way to remove the internal data storage partition and force the system to only utilize the SDcard? I had a MyTouch 4G Slide that had no internal storage for user files (music, pics, etc) and a 32 GB card that worked fine.

Compiled AOSP image not booting and system partition is not mountable in recovery

I started porting Android 4.0.4 ICS AOSP to my device (HTC Desire SV) by creating a new devicetree from scratch.

I was able to compile and run the image for the emulator but the image with my devicetree isn't booting on my device (not even adb / bootanimation).
I just flashed the system.img with fastboot (first formatted it in cwm) and continued to use the old boot.img with my old kernel compiled from HTCDev.com which worked with the stock 4.0.4 ROM.

I am unable to mount the system partition in cwm after flashing the image:

Code:

W:failed to mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 (Invalid argument)

Formatting /system in recovery & make_ext4fs at the building steps:

Code:

Formatting /system...

After formatting in recovery I am able to mount /system again.

Current BoardConfig.mk:
xttp://pastebin.com/VrdGpZrp (had to use pastebin my BoardConfig.mk content is somehow flagged by the board software)

I didn't yet include extraction of the blobs.
My plan was to be able to mount /system in recovery and to install the blobs with an update.zip until I got a booting system / adb logcat.

This is my first try at porting and I'm also pretty new to Android Roms etc.

Can someone share their partition table for the Sprint LG G4?

Can someone share a screenshot of their sprint partition table or know where I can find a copy? I did a search but can only come up with partition tables for other variant of the G4.

Help with a /system partition being deleted during TWRP update?

I've looked on the forums and can't find a solution. So I attempted to flash a TWRP img file inside TWRP to the recovery partition, which i probably shouldn't have done. It killed the recovery, So I've been in Heimdall via Cyanogenmods instructions to get my boot and Aboot files right after I killed those somehow. I haven't changed up those files since I've gotten the phone, and I've not taken any OTA's, so I thought those files were the same since it's the same instructions I used previously. I can get the new TWRP up, but i've deleted my /system partition somehow. TWRP tells me it cannot mount it, then tells me it doesn't exist. I'm still under the impression that i'm on an unlocked bootloader. The Cyanogenmod 12 load screen is still there before Teamwin pops up, and I can get into download mode. I don't know if she's still rooted, as I have no OS installed. What avenue should I pursue to get it working with any ROM? I miss having root, as that makes this stuff gravy when in ADB. Should I take a look with Casual or find some ODIN exe that hopefully isn't just malware? I have used Casual root on it in the past, that worked for quite awhile.

Thanks a bunch guys.

i747 boot loop after deleting phone partition

This is a 4.4.2 rooted android that i just flashed a custom spirit rom. It worked perfect but I go greedy and tried to format the whole phone with intentions of reinstalling spirit again on a fresh device but soon as I formated my phone i got the boot loop....Fail.

Cant access recovery even though the twrp logo pops up when i attempt to enter recovery only to boot loop again.

I tried flashing back to stock rom via odin but no can do cuz you cant downgrade. So I tried reinstalling twrp via odin. Said success but it still won't let me go into recovery mode cuz it still boot loops.

What should i do?
Should I try to use odin to flash to the custom spirit rom that i had on before this happened?
Or download a custom 4.4.2 stock rom and dtry to use that to flash via odin? makes no sense since i had the spirit rom last.
I'm looking at countless threads and am a little bit clouded wtih information. I have a feeling there is something easy to fix this that i dont know about. aNy input? thanks......

Should i try to install the stock recovery with odin? or another custom recovery thats not twrp? then install spirit rom again?

its an att i747 , not canadian one.

Wipe LAF Partition = Standard Bootloader?

So.... if we were to wipe the LAF partition... would we get back the regular bootloader on carrier variants, such as H811?
