How To: Switch back to Android KitKat to get awesome storage space again.

I was extremely annoyed with Lollipop Upgrade as I didnt had enough storage space after the upgrade.. Removing system apps also didn't help. I was looking for some KitKat Roms and I found this.

Issues With Samsung Smart Switch

I just got the Note 5 and installed Samsung Smart Switch on my PC. Once I launch and connect my device, the application stays stuck at connecting to device. Eventually after like 10 minutes, it says failed to connect to device. I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled this application 5 times now. Restarted after every install, uninstall and reinstall as well. This is on Windows 8.1. On my Macbook Pro it works fine, but now on my PC. Transferring to my MBP would just be annoying as most of my work stuff is on my PC. Any help and troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated.

Using HTC Uh Oh Protection to switch from Sprint To At&t to use net10

Has anyone been successful using Net10 on a AT&T M9.

I see that the AT&T has a free unlock method that I never used before seems a bit risky. I called AT&T to see if they will give me an unlock code for when I get the device seems like they will.

Toying with the idea to s-off and make the device a Unlocked version in hopes it will better my ability to use net10 and get faster updates.

Main question is in my area att has LTE when I get and unlock this M9 do I just add net10 apn. It's been awhile since I've done anything like this the sprint LG G2 to net10 was simple m9 doesn't seem that straight forward ..

Please shed some light if you are using straighttalk or net10 did you s-off and go right for the international ruu/Cid flash or did you just unlock the sim?

Also best apn for net10 would be sweet Google search shows old threads when LTE was newer.

Kill switch confusion??

I have heard countless theory on how the kill switch works.
I have stated many times it's a serial/hardware Id kill or at least those have a lot to do with it.I've heard it's in the latest firmware but how would that work if you registered recall/downgraded to stock/then updated again.If it still gets killed at that point it's a serial based kill because how could nvidia keep track of these recalled tablets.Duhh serial/id,etc..not software the software comes equipped with the kill ..I think if we changed the serials or what not we could disappear of the radar for good or if we could at least bypass these recalled Id checks somehow.Any suggestions??ideas??

Hangouts 4.0 how do you switch between SMS and hangouts on one contact

I like using hangouts for my T-Mobile SMS.
I go the new hangout 4.0 today. I can't figure out how to pick which method a message is sent to a contact that has both SMS and Hangouts in their contact info. It seems like you must message them based on what ever the last incoming message was.. either SMS or hangouts..

Hello everybody. For several days I use Tasker and I am very fascinated. I want to do when I use some network to set Power Saving Mode ON and after go out to switch OFF, but when I do that I get a window and I have to click on it. I want to automate that.

Do I keep it or switch it? Need advice

Just bought the G4 on 8/6. I'm going in to return it tomorrow. It gets terribly hot and the finding location icon is constantly flashing. I don't know if I should just swap it for a new G4 or get something else. I know there is a root method but I've heard of it working and causing issues for others. I saw a thread where the My Verizon app was asking for root access. I know you can just freeze it. It stinks that the phone is locked. I'm torn between this phone and the Nexus 6. What would you do?

Shield Kill Switch

Hi figured we could use our own separate thread to discuss the killswitch Nvidia supposedly put in place on our old Shield tablets and see what has worked for those who have received their replacement units. If you've gotten a replacement please share if your old unit has been destroyed or not...if not please let others know what the old tablet has on it or what you did to attempt to prevent the brick! Pretty sure I should root, but should I switch from TouchWiz?

I just got a Rogers Note 4 in Canada and spent the past few days customizing things to my liking. I am a minimalist and using Nova, ZUI Locker and Whicons (and a new Dialer) I have everything looking great. The only thing I can't stand is the Notification bar pull down thing. I can't change anything about it without rooting and it's insanely ugly. I'd also like to change the status bar. So, I should probably root and use Xposed (I think?) to change that to my liking. I'm a very aesthetically driven person and rooting just to change that fugly bar is enough reason for me.

But on the subject of switching from TW, I'm not really sure what to do. My last phone was a 5 year old Windows 7 phone so this one has been a dream so far. It feels snappy, I don't notice any lag, and there isn't a lot of bloatware that I can see. Some S stuff I'll probably never use, but storage out of the box was only a few GB (sits at 6GB atm with some large games installed) and RAM usage after a boot is around 60%.

Anyway with all these things considered, should I bother changing ROMs? I know people hate TW, but other than the Notification/Status bar being unchangeable, I can't really find any issues. Just looking for some thoughts from the experts.

Switch to AT&T from T-Mobile

Hello and thanks in advance, my question is- I'm going to change to AT&T service from T Mobile service and I want to make sure that all my t-mobile branded phones would work properly on AT&T service.

My phones:
(all network unlocked and t-mobile branded)
LG 90
Iphone 5c
Samsung Note 4

-Would my phones celluar and data networks work on the att network?

-Would my tmobile phones get new updated firmware and software when it's released if used on ATT?

-Would MMS and imessage work?

-Would visual voicemail work?

-Should I just buy ATT branded phones? I don't really want to as I have expensive phones already and would be super expensive to get all new ones.

-Is there anything else I should know before transferring service?

Charging stand with storage switch

Hi all,

Have just bought a stand for my HTC m9, it's a sleek looking bit of kit and only costs a tenner which is pretty cheap.

It is designed to work with the phone with no case although there is a removable part which allows the usage of the dot matrix case too, I've confirmed that this works too.
Chances are you may be able to fit some other cases in there but they would have to be slim, the Spigen hybrid does not fit unfortunately, possible to do some modding but that would be down to you.

You can connect this up to your laptop /PC ( USB 3 charges pretty good compared to usb2) it allows you to mount storage via the dock, also confirmed, a standard USB socket is also present on the back which can be used for OTA purposes, keyboard, mouse, gamepads, hard drive etc (untested but should work).

The design is sleek and sturdy, it holds the phone up well, could maybe use a little more weight.

Personally I got it for work so I can mount it and maybe use it as a clock, see messages via the dot matrix case, play music (can change tracks from the matrix case) so far it's working as expected.

Would recommend.

How can I switch the ROMs with CWM ROM Manager

I installed CWM ROM Manager and installed the Cyanogen mod through it.

Still, while booting I don't have any prompt to choose the ROM and the device boots into Cyanogen. Is there any way to boot into my stock ROM without flashing it back?
