Has anybody found a way to change recents button to menu button for single press? I thought this would be in options but it seems not. Thanks

T805 bad flash in Odin and no recovery with button combo

Hi everyone, some help is needed. Mistakenly when rooting my stock T805 with CF autoroot, tired and sleepy, I flashed it in Odin in BL (bootloader) and not in AP box as I should. Soft bricked it, couldn't go back to stock, somehow managed to install recovery, from there to some AOSP rom and finally to Xtrolite (which is great) .Anyhow, all is working now, EXCEPT, i still cannot flash stock rom in Odin, seems i destroyed bootloader but then again, I flashed stock bootloader-only file, i got recovery, any rom etc. Help is needed what to do??
Also, is this normal that VOL UP+ POWER+ HOME wont enter recovery?? I remember this when i bought it, with knox 0x0 and now also, with TWRP, i have to use an app to reboot to recovery?! weird...

Found the Menu Button

Several release ago Samsung did away with a dedicated menu button. Many of the application developers enhanced their apps to have the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner to allow touch access to the menu button.. In the S6 those apps with out a menu button had a floating circle with the 3 dots. Now with the note 5 I could not find a button combination or the floating circle for apps like moon reader. Previously you would press and hold the multitasking button. NOW you need to press and hold the back button. Why do they need to change this so often and not communicate it? Oh well but there is your answer

Hey there, I'm on stock 5.1.1 and my Xperia keyboard doesnt allow to enable Google voice function (it appears as grey /unselectable) under options.

I've tried Google keyboard but when I press this button, nothing happens

Power button dead. Any way i can still unlock bootloader and root nexus 5

My power button is completely dead. I can neither switch off or switch on phone nor can i out it to sleep widout third party app.

I need to unlock bootloader and root phone but all methods need a working power button.. Any way i can do this widout power button jus by using pc and command window ?

Please help.. Em a noob..

(APP) Disable Recent apps button

I created this app for my own use because i feel that i misclick the recent app button quite often while playing some landscape game like vainglory which is quite annoying.

This is a very simple application, it would be straight to use it, click on the disable button to disable the recent app button or click on the restore button to restore it.

Note** after click on either of the 2 button your phone will be reboot immediately, so please save your work before proceed.
Note** This app required root.

Installation guide
1) Download the apk and the rar file.
2) Unrar the rar file and extract the whole folder to the root of your internal memory.
3)Enjoy :)

Power button sometimes takes me to lock screen?

Sometimes when I press my power button, wanting to power off the display, I instead get the lock screen. Has anyone else noticed this?

Start position is just the home screen.

Found another thread with similar issue but in that case it's a HTC EVO.

Power Button Stuck, Will I be able to boot without it

My Nexus 5 power button recently started getting stuck and is now completely stuck down so it goes into boot loop,

My question is, if I remove the power button from the board completely will I still be able to boot it using ADB ?
Or if there is any other workarounds without sending it for repair please let me know.

Back button not working

Solved by checking the input method for the keyboard. Rechose the swiftkey board and the back button has come back working!
I am using CM11c0_codina.nova plus ace2nutzer.kernel.4.4 codina
Today for no obvious reason the back button does not cause the screen to go back. I can feel the buzzer but nothing happens.
what should I check before trying to use button remapper?

I have just gone into the play.google and realise that my keyboard is not appearing on the screen.

[Q] How can I root with a broken home button?

Hey all
I have my friends old sgs-i9305t which has a broken home button which I would like to root and possibly install a custom rom onto. This can be useful for my secondary sim when I travel.

Problem is, I cannot seem to connect to pc at all. So right now it can't reboot to download or recovery, and the adb methods for rooting aren't working as I can not currently connect even as a usb drive (yes this phone has likely gone through hell before I got my hands on it).

Maybe I should add, I am on Windows 10. But that didn't interfere with other devices I connected to this pc.

Anyone got any tips or solutions?

Volume up and power button issue

Hello! When I'm pressing volume up button nothing happens, but if i push it harder it sometimes works. Power button is strange because when i press it to turn on the screen it works perfectly, but when i want to turn the screen off just nothing happens. Is there any workaround for this? Changing roms doesn't help it, tried with venom, revolution hd, and insertcoin and this doesn't help :(

Power button broke, can't turn it on again! HELP

I really hope you can help me.... A few days ago my power button didn't work anymore, so i found other ways to unlock and lock my phone. No problem. But now my battery was empty and it fell of.... Can't turn it on again! It is fully charged and still works fine, except the power button. What can i do to turn it on? I have no root. If you can help me out you're a hero!

[Q] No cell signal after odin. No S voice via hardware button either

So this issue is testing my sanity and understanding. I was on a custom rom, rooted with OF3. I wanted to ODIN back to stock, flashing all 4 files (OCE).

Everything works successfully, except when the phone boots up I won't have a cellular signal until I update to OF3, which means rooting again with pingpong, loading Flashfire, flashing the of3 zip and then the modem and boot file. After that, signal is back. But why?? Does ODIN not hit every bit of memory on the phone?

Which takes me to my next question. S Voice is missing an option to open via home key. This is true after ODIN, going into recovery and wiping cache partition, loading up cleanrom etc. Long pressing home key only will open google now. If i disable that, nothing happens. If I use a program to map s voice to the hardware button, nothing happens. So it feels like something just isn't quite right.

Anyone have any insights or ideas?

PS- I also tried the option to do a NAND erase with ODIN and "factory data reset' in recovery too. Same signal issue until OF3 update and s voice + home key option missing.

Stuck at CM logo and power button not working

Please help me, I tried to instal CM 12 on my Moto E, the first time that I tried installing a custom rom in it and I got stuck on the CM logo, and the only solutions I have read I need to enter recovery but my power button is not working, Is there something I can do?

Hey guys my Nexus 5 is not functioning because the power button has gone bad, I tried all the "smashing" the phone and pressing the power button repeatedly but nothing works, the button inside is broken(not physically broken but just not functioning), i opened up the device and tried to put a little pressure on the button module on the motherboard but didnt help, HOWEVER:

I noticed that the volume up and down module buttons on the motherboard are the same as the power button module (as far as I can tell), my question is, if I take it to someone specialized, could they remove one of the volume modules and solder it in the place of the power button to make my phone at least functional? or are these modules just different and they just look alike?

I live in a country where I can no longer import virtually anything and I can't buy the module replacement even if I wanted to, please help.

This does not compile and NONE of the examples I have found in stack overflow will work.

It is either DialogInterface is unresolved or call to setButton is ambiguous. It is just around and around in circles with the same compile errors.

For once and for all how do you friggin well do it?

The precise imports I need and the precise paramaters I must pass to setButton

APK Sideloading . Unable to tap on Install button

Anyone run into this issue before? When I open an APK to install, tapping the Install button does nothing. Sometimes if I tap on it a lot, and in different parts, it will go through, but other times I can't seem to get it to work. Tapping Cancel will work as expected, and when I enable Tap Views in Debug options, I can SEE the taps on the button.

Unknown Sources is checked and turning off Verify Apps makes no difference.

Remove camera icon next to the Emergency call button

Can somebody please show me how to remove the camera icon next to the Emergency call button? I'm having so many accident camera shots while the camera is in my pocket.
